2018 Navigator Sync Update
LincolnLawyer replied to LincolnLawyer's topic in Lincoln Navigator Forum
I misspoke. My F-150 checks for updates via WiFi weekly and has successfully downloads them when available. My Navigator will not even complete a check. I have checked the owners page (no update available) and I have spoken to concierge, who simply referred me to my local dealer. Two different dealers have advised that no updates are available. I just find it strange that there have been no updates for this vehicle in two years. -
2018 Navigator Sync Update
LincolnLawyer replied to LincolnLawyer's topic in Lincoln Navigator Forum
Just to update this thread, I’ve had my Navigator for nearly 2 years now and there still has not any Sync updates. I remain on 3.0 build 17302. By comparison, my 2018 F-150 updates its Sync pretty much weekly. Has anyone successfully updated the Sync software on a 2018+ Navigator? -
Steering Wheel Not Adjusting With Memory Settings
LincolnLawyer replied to LincolnLawyer's topic in Lincoln Navigator Forum
Thanks for your response. If it’s not too much trouble, please check your service record and post the specific name and/or part number of the module they replaced, as this would be most helpful. -
Let us know when the replacements arrive at your dealer. My service manager seemed to think that it could be months, especially as F-150s are also affected by this issue and there are untold millions of those out there. I filed a complaint with the NHTSA, but not holding my breath.

I too had the Lincoln emblem on the front grille replaced under warranty. According to my service advisor, the illuminated emblem on most if not all 2018 and 2019 Lincolns will have to be replaced. They had 3 other Navigators in service for the emblem replacement at the same time, with mine being the fourth. My dealer even started stocking replacement emblems. My Navigator waited 1.5 years and 20k miles for the emblem to go out.

The back-up camera on my 2018 Reserve L has been on the fritz. When shifting into reverse, the screen that is supposed to display the area behind the vehicle is blacked out about 50% of the time. My local Lincoln service department informed me that the camera itself is defective and that the replacement part is on “galactic” nation-wide back order with no ETA in sight. Apparently, the back-up cameras on several Ford and Lincoln models have been dropping like flies lately. Anyone else experience this issue? Hopefully my wife doesn’t back into anything or over anyone before the camera can be replaced, whenever that will be.

Steering-Related Tick/Click Sound

Bump. Anyone experience this? Mine is still doing it. -
Steering-Related Tick/Click Sound
LincolnLawyer replied to LincolnLawyer's topic in Lincoln Navigator Forum
It clicks when turning the steering wheel in either direction, but only when the vehicle is in motion. It doesn’t seem to make the noise when turning the wheel while stopped. I guess I could be wrong, but the clicking seeming to be coming from within the cabin, specifically the driver’s footwell area. -
I have a 2018 and I noticed tick/clicking sound recently when turning. At first I thought it was coming from the driver’s seat bottom, but upon closer inspection, it seems to be coming from under the bottom of the driver’s side dash where the steering column can be seen after removing a black plastic panel just above the pedals. Just curious if anyone else has noticed something similar. Thanks!

I’ve noticed a slight squeak, or more accurately a ticking sound, that seems to come from the driver’s seat bottom especially when turning. I read online where a TSB has been issued for a cracked or broken outside front seat bolster support bracket. Has anyone experienced this issue or had the TSB performed yet?

Subtle 2020 change - door handle chrome
LincolnLawyer replied to Husker4theSpurs's topic in Lincoln Navigator Forum
Are you sure - my 18 Navigator has multiple color choices for the ambient lighting. -
I actually have a 2018 Raptor (late 2017 build) with 26k miles and a 2018 Navigator (late 2018 build) with 9k miles. No engine issues yet with either (knock on wood) but glad I sprung for a Ford PermiumCare extended warranty on both. I hope they get yours sorted quickly.

Turns out, the noise I was hearing wasn’t coming from the chassis, but rather the sunroof glass was rattling. My local dealership did a great job diagnosing and fixing the issue.

Anyone notice a creak or rattle that seems to come from the underside of the front end while driving slow speeds over any surface that is less than perfect? My 2018 Reserve L does this and it is starting to drive me nuts. Thankfully these noises seem to go away at highway speeds. I’m planning to bring it to the dealer, but just wanted to know if anyone has noticed a similar issue. Thanks to all.

I’ve had this happen once after I left the lift gate open for several hours. I just assumed the car had gone to sleep and so I made a mental note not to leave the lift gate open for that long.

Expedition MAX vs Navigator L - Worth the $?
LincolnLawyer replied to Expy Aladocious's topic in Lincoln Navigator Forum
I was originally looking at the Expedition Platinum, but at $78k it was hard to justify. I ended up getting my $91k MSRP Navigator L Reserve for $79k so it made sense. -
2018 Navigator-2nd Row Center Console
LincolnLawyer replied to flannbarr's topic in Lincoln Navigator Forum
I have the console and like it. I have a family of 4 with two teenagers, so the third row doesn’t get used very often. No on any of my consoles yet, but I could see where it could happen if you’re careless. -
2019 Lincoln Navigator engine issue
LincolnLawyer replied to LynnAnn's topic in Lincoln Navigator Forum
I have noticed on my 2018 Navigator that both running boards deploy if any of the 4 doors are opened while the engine is off. When the engine is on, only the running board on the side that a door is opened will deploy. Hope this helps. -
2020 Lincoln Navigator Order Guide
LincolnLawyer replied to ice-capades's topic in Lincoln Navigator Forum
I see where the 2020 Aviator is available with retractable rear window sun shades. I have these on my 2016 XC90 and was surprised that my 2018 Navigator doesn’t have them. I was hoping the 2020 Navigator would add them so I could retrofit, but I guess not. Kind of a disappointment in an otherwise nice vehicle. -
2018 Navigator Sync Update
LincolnLawyer replied to LincolnLawyer's topic in Lincoln Navigator Forum
Still no Sync updates for me, either in the car with WiFi or from the Lincoln owner’s website. I’ve been stuck on version 3.0, build 17302 since 10/03/18.
