  1. Thx for clarification on the "B-6.7". As for 5000 650/750 inventory IMO that can't be correct. It would be almost half of a full year production. My bet is someone at Ford generating this press release got a decimal point wrong. OR did they lump 450-600 figures in that number??? Also one month of numbers is probably not a good yardstick...I hope?
  2. So Gearrhead mentioned IMSA's VPN. Does that mean you go on IMSA website and its there??
  3. Thx for clarification. So if engine is determining factor and NOT GVW- while all the press I have read seems to focus on class 6/7-then Ford has a big problem in MY25 with 250-600 too as the 6.7 Powerstroke is non compliant? Or it is ONLY the 330 HP version which I believe is the only rating available in 650/750? Also is a B6.7 Cummins the same as a "6.7" as used in a Dodge..excuse me, RAM.?? RAM has never referred to the 6.7 Cummins as a "B 6.7"...or I have never seen that reference.
  4. Work Truck show coming up soon...I think this is big event when it comes in particular to classes 4-7. Don't see how the manufacturers can avoid this subject.
  5. Got it...but what happens in '25 to 450-600? And the JV GM/Internationals-don't have a gas option-at least for now they don't- seems like they are really shafted???
  6. So back to CARB and model year '25. This reg only includes class 6 and 7. So a 550 at 19,500GVW is exempt? And while we keep referring to 650/750, an F-600 at 22,000 is also exempt?
  7. Had same opinion. Actually wasn't at one time a date in August the trigger point to advance to next model year??
  8. Well if it is true they will have bragging rights over Ford and Dodge. At times I think as dumb as that is they want that press.
  9. FLT has a video on this rumor. Surprised they don't have a big gas engine for the true "mediums.
  10. Well my thought is Ford too has fallen for the "My grillwork has more glitz than yours" school of design..or F-upped design.
  11. My two cents, I have a new 5.0 150, now has about 4200 miles on it. Stick is currently reading about a 1/4 qt low. I'm thinking no big deal, engine break in whatever. I did a lot of searching on You Tube and there is more then one opinion in which Ford techs when asked if they were buying a new 150, what motor would they chose and it is almost unanimous "5.0". And I've had a 3.5 (SHO) trouble free when I sold it to a relative who continues to enjoy it-must be at around 130,000 now and I have an MKZ (3.0 Eb) that currently has 62,000, also trouble free. But I like the idea of the 5.0 which is not a "simple" design, but still view it as "less complicated" than an Ecoboost. And for sure if this 2018 is at a dealer and is a CPO, that takes a lot of worry out of it. Last thought, there is some fleet guy in Canada that has made several videos on the 5.0, all very favorable, Every generation since 2011?- has undergone improvements. Check out You Tube.."5.0"
  12. Well I forgot all about it until too late. What is a VPN feed?
  13. If I read list of finishers correctly, in 24 hrs of Daytona, 13 cars in GT3. Of two Mustangs, best finish was 6th. Probably not bad for first outing.
  14. Amen..My first thought when I saw the thread title. If you forget about Ford's horrible recall history, the next thing that comes to mind, is the bullet proof quality image the likes of Toyota and Honda have. Never owned either...diehard Ford..but I do own 8 assorted "machines" powered by Honda ! It seems to me Farley is constantly trying to be "creative" with the next catchy trend/phrase.
  15. Well ordered Husky liners from Summit Racing. After a month long BO issue finally got them Friday. Fit perfectly and install in minutes..shocker when everything fits?
  16. I've always wondered about the downside of losing experienced senior people and its impact on quality.
  17. Per my "bold" sentence, always scratched my head that ICE was out but "oh by the way, good thing they make money so we can fund......." In the meantime, "Seaking Alpha " today from Entrpreneur..."Ford revving up for electric transformation" ..."the compny has relied on its gas -guzzling muscle cars and its ubiquitous F-150 pickup for over a century. But now the electric revolution's buzz can be heard in the distance, and Ford is navigating a precarious turn toward a battery powered future" Article goes on with many pros and cons...one thing no mention of? Sorry state of affairs when it comes to our grid..both in production of power as well as a distribution system that is ancient. In due time, in due time. Oh bulletin yesterday. GM gave its Buick dealers the ultimatum..sign up for all the facility uprgades and training costs or take the flag down. Four yesterday took a pass in Mass.
  18. Well if you go to the Ford website...commercial vehicles then click on the the 750 gas thread they are listing model year '25..so does this mean another lost model year? Also great news 650/750 with Godzilla now available with air brake option. Makes sense huh?... if you want to sell class 6 and 7 trucks in that huge economy known as California as well as Oregon. And I might add the only gas powered class 6 and 7 truck ignoring the 22,900 GM/Navistar. Checked with a good source..."Nope another marketing mistake..posted in error..working on it however" Can't imagine just how complicated this must be..too bad Mr. Westinghouse isn't still with us..or did he just do trains??
  19. Definition please for this old guy. What is a "commodity" product?
  20. My bet? They own very little...everything is mortgaged to the hilt. Vehicles? Do they have titles to them? nope. One lease after another. Granted many have good two figure incomes but they don't deny themselves anything in the short term. Rainy day insurance? Nope. People like you and I are IMO rarities today.
  21. And probably for good reason...Never sat in one much less driven one but I imagine they are reasonably priced plus they don't look like a cheap vehicle.
  22. Joe, I wouldn't say it is all done...IMO rather the industry maybe recognizing that many factors will drive the success of EV's..including reliable sources of raw materials that is consistent with environmental and political considerations where these materials originate, plus a realistic charging network that keeps pace with environmentally friendly electric power generation, as well as a reliable distribution grid. For sure when Farley cuts Lightning F-150 projections in half, the winds are changing.
  23. Friend is a LEO in a neighboring town. He told me they have a new 150 pursuit. First night he had it he has a call responding to a very serious accident. He said before he noticed he was going at less than a "prudent" speed and he was coming up on a traffic circle. He couldn't believe how well it handled it
  24. Well I like my '23 XL based STX but in Ford's usual plan to force you into an XLT if you want a power seat you are stuck with no seat height adjustment. Anyone have any experience installing those spacer blocks that raise the driver seat?
