My 23 F-150 is approaching 10K miles. Great truck but have had a few situations where when lifting on accelerator, RPM's do not immediately drop off-acting like cruise is engaged which it is not. Throttle also at times does not respond as it should when coming from a stop. Need more pressure on accelerator and if you are not on pavement I will have wheel spin. Then this AM I was pulling into traffic and had a surge, required me to jump on brakes. Time has come for me to make an appointment on Monday for sure to bring it in, but any thoughts? I'm always a skeptic when I read about someone launching into a store front as "car just accelerated" but.....??

New Light & Medium Duty News

The American Truck Historical Society (ATHS) had its annual show in June at the PA State Fairgrounds in York PA. A total of 898 trucks were on display from all over the US and a couple of foreign countries. Of the top five, Mack had the highest representation at 185, with Peterbilt second at 146, Kenworth third at 124, Ford fourth at 58, and International fifth at 55. Not surprising that Mack, Ford and International did as well given eastern location. Closer show is held closer to west coast, Paccar rules. Nice to see the ATHS show issue of 180 pages had this "two story Falcon" on the cover. Company that owns this also had a beautiful LT 9000 at the show and both are still used moving equipment. Note cover refers to this as an LTL an obvious error as it is a CLT -

Reading the rationale for the breakaway of trucks from the "car" biz, one only has to look at "Ford Pro" as proof that passenger vehicle mindsets don't fit in when it comes to trucks. If so we would have seen Ford taking a bigger position in the class 6-7 business-or so it seems. Daimler didn't seem to be hamstrung by management who viewed commercial vehicles as a "side business" so I can only imagine how focused the new entity will be- much the same as the Swedes are not distracted. -
Ford is done with making boring cars

Provided those expense reductions are quickly followed up on. Like less volume so you knock of a shift....so fixed costs stay the same. I'm filling up the 36 gallon tank on the 150 yesterday (Ugh) and an elderly lady pulls in on the opposite lane in a nice 4 dr Focus. And I'm thinking, if she lives to replace that car she will probably be in a Kia, Yota etc. I know Farley and his crew know what they are doing...I just can't believe the other guys are so clueless🤔 -

Ford is done with making boring cars

Speaking of cars that were not boring, did you ever see a stand alone ad spot for a Taurus SHO, Fusion Sport with a 2.7, MKZ with a 3.0? Part of the problem as I see it. Ford has had great vehicles and they seem to ignore them. My SHO was a great vehicle and when it came time to replace it-running fine at 120,000 miles, a relative just gave me a good offer for it-the Taurus was out of production. So I started looking for a CPO SHO . No luck in Northeast. Then someone on this site suggested I look for a Fusion 2.7 or an MKZ with a 3.0. That I found and have been very satisfied with it. But again- a best kept secret. -

Guys,Thx for reassuring responses..guess it is the nature of these beasts -
Well I stumbled on a a You Tube video the other day of a 23' 150 that was captured on a surveillance camera. Suddenly parking light comes on. Then a bit later the horn blows a couple of times. Owner finally comes out and opens door and a wisp of smoke comes out-he leaves I assume to call 911. He comes back out a couple of minutes later and smoke is then billowing out. About 9 minutes after light/horn issue FD shows up but by then truck is toast. Interesting never saw fire coming out from hood/engine-all internal in the cab-other then a few flames that came up from hood at cowl initially. Which brings me to my 23, which just hit year old mark and 9000 miles. I'm in garage tonight, keys are sitting in truck-but not ignition. Suddenly I hear a relay click a couple of times. Wait a bit and it does it again a few times. So I park it outside for the night. Call my son and he says.."Oh my Bronco -22, and Explorer-23 are always doing that ..walk by them and relays start clicking". I will say if I have the fob in my pocket for my MKZ and I walk into garage, it picks that up and parking lights come on and all that but this 150 doesn't have keyless start. Any thoughts-opinions? I will say I got a message that system was going to do some sort of upgrade the other night. Seems the only by product of that is I could not get Waze back up on screen-working on my I phone but not on screen. Once again this old guy has to ask my sons to come over to help me out🤔

What about non-profits? My late wife would donate to whatever charity sent us something...not much but 25 bucks and you are on the mailing list and I think they sell their lists. I routinely get up to 10 pieces a day. And yes, USPS brings most of my small packages. -

No clue as to his age but his pictures would say a reasonably young guy to be retiring. As always, as critical as this unit is as demonstrated by the numbers, the choice Farley makes here will be significant perhaps in terms of how Farley views expansion beyond Transits and light duty vehicles as the definition of "commercial vehicles". -
My 23 150 turn signal will often refuse to cancel on a left turn. Hate to waste a day getting it to dealer if this is some simple fix. Anyone have a clue?

Now THIS is a New Book
Bob Rosadini replied to Bob Rosadini's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Yes...hopefully next game will not be a nail biter like Sunday game😎 Had to be tough for William Clay being the junior guy to the Deuce who I would imagine had an attitude that said.."stick to your football team and don't bother me!" -
The WSJ on Friday previewed a new book by Bill Morris. "The Lions Finally Roar: The Ford Family, the Detroit Lions, and the Road to Redemption in the NFL". Reading the review, looks like the writer goes into a lot more than the story of the Lions but rather..."we learn much about the palace intrigues inside Ford Motor Co.,especially those of William Clay Ford, who ran the club from 1961 to 2014."...."Mr. Morris also gives readers a decent history of the automobile industry from its heyday in the 1950's to the beginnings of struggles in the 1970's." I just might just buy this before it ends up in Costco or BJs at half the price😎

Well TT I got a quick answer from my sales rep. The plates are sold as another kit for 60 bucks You get 4 plates and 16 cap screws to attach. Only problem on Ford Accessory site in the cleat description it clearly shows the cleats attached to the bed with the plate. Reasonable assumption assumption on my part that was part of the package. And at $105, the four cleats are decent items...but 60 bucks for four stamped plates and 16 cap screws, a bit much. So before I ordered the plates on Sat I sent a note to Ford site, suggesting that the site should have said.."requires plate kit XYZ sold separately for Installation". Could not print my message but I implied.."you owe me, but at the very least you should give me some additional points beyond the $60. Sounds like after the cleat kit went into the "accessory catalog", someone came up with another decontenting scheme. Stay tuned>
