  1. Yes, you're right... the third row should have told me so. Pretty peppy though considering it's size.
  2. We haven't done anything on the blackened grill. My wife says now she's okay with the stock one, but someday i would sure like to go black. It appears as per someone else's post that monochromatic packages will be available for the Nautilus so if that true, then a already factory blackened grill will be available as a part number perhaps. I think that would be the way to go and just swap. But I'm pretty sure that they're not going to give them away, and the service dept said it's like a 4 to 5 hour job to get the grill out... hmmm, well that's what they said anyway. I don't know if painting would work or not but there's no way I'd go any sort of vinyl wrap, even if it could be done. There's just not enough surface area to stick to. The big one for both of us was going total black powder coated wheels. So she's happy. ? We also have the Chalet interior.
  3. So, I've had the chance to drive a Cadillac XT4 and a XT6 while my ELR was getting a part. The XT4 is really below a Nautilus so I won't even go there because you already know how that turned out. But Ive had a XT6 for the last 3 days. I think it's a worthy competitor to the Nautilus. So wanted to compare that to our 2020 BL Nautilus. The good is that the XT6 drives well, soaks up bumps well, is very peppy and has lots of tech. Is it up to the BL? Nope, not by a long shot. The Cadillac seems flimsy and a facade of niceness which looks very strained to reach. You get into a BL and it's obvious the materials are so much nicer. The XT6 seats can't compare either by a wide margin. It sounded like a Toyota, and looked very BMWish as far as control look. And actually not as nice as the nicer BMW's I driven. In all, the Nautilus blows away the XT6. The only thing the Cadillac has that's better is the ACC. I've tried the ACC on both XT4 and XT6 and personally think they work a lot better than the Lincolns. Our ACC on our Nautilus is downright scary sometimes and seems pretty aggressive. I don't feel that way in the Cadillac. I wish there was some way to get it a little more conservative or mellow it out. I guess there's a chance that ours isn't working right? But it's been that way since day one, and it does work, but not so nicey-nicey. I let me wife decide without saying anything. She gave it a lookover in and out. I tell you what, she appreciates her Nautilus way more now. ?
  4. Finally! I saw a new bright red Aviator yesterday parked outside a school. It's the first one that I can actually say it definitely was one. Looked great. I would sure like to know where all the rest are, I drive a lot and the Lincoln grills are very distinctive and you can see them a mile away coming at you. Still, it's just mostly Priuses (Priui?) and other toyotas, and subarus for the most part around here.... ugh. Funny how many different Prius versions keep coming out and they still continue to make them a legacy of fugliness.
  5. CRAP! Now you tell me! We had to get our Black Label wheels fully black powdercoated and have yet to figure out what we could do about the grill. It looks like now, that blackened grill might be a part number! We'll see. Wife really wants a black grill for her White Nautilus and already now black wheels. So do I...?
  6. I dont know whats going on but over the last month Ive seen a surge of newer MKZ's out there! They look so cool coming at you. Since my initial post about this, just a few Nautilii, and MKZ's. I still never see a Aviator nor not a single Corsair yet either... so weird.. Now that we've had our Black Label Nautilus (wife's car) since turkey time last year, I have really been smitten with Lincoln styling. I love Cadillac styling, or at least mine (ELR), but I think my next car would be a Lincoln. Seriously I will never buy a non American car ever again.
  7. Cool! Thanks for posting that, it was fun to watch. For a second there I thought I was going to have to get a screen extension when they started getting really long!
  8. This is just from the guy at the service desk, so don't know it's veracity. I am using this time of no work/no paycheck to get caught up on little things that take all your time up. So for me to go to the local Cad dealer for my generator oil change in my ELR, it's like a 45 min drive one way. Anyway, he's the only guy at the desk and I assume that sales are dead slow. So I ask, "I assume that the times right now are bad for you guys and cars in general". He says no, they've been doing okay. But the GMC dealer next door has been going gangbusters! He mentioned 84 month zero interest and whatever other deals are making people come in a get deals they've never seen before.. He made it sound like no problem at least around here in the land of Prius. I checked early on for daughter because she claimed she was in the market for a new car (I was trying to talk her into a Corsair). At the time, about a month ago we were starting to see some deals, but mostly it was Japanese manufacturers offering zero or low interest loans, but not telling you it was leftover hard to sell models and no 2020's. At the time, I think Lincoln was the first to offer deals on 2020's. I don't know what they have going on now though... All I know is I need another car like a hole in the head. ? I hope people that can afford it take advantage of some super deals out there. Hope all you guys are doing well. Only 100 deaths, almost all pre-existing condition elderly patients here in Oregon, so I guess we've been super lucky, except of course our elderly loved ones. My mom's care facility is locked up like NORAD.
  9. OUCH! That's terrible... but I'm sure all makes would be expensive... Mercedes probably twice that....
  10. It weird the piece of mind that little badge gives my wife. It's the icing on the cake for her. I never realized the back letters were different! Usually I'm the kind of guy who really notices that kind of thing, always looking for slight model differences so I can pick out exact years on cars. I'm pretty good about nailing exact years on Jags 1989 to present (XJ models) just because I thought it was interesting. I noticed Acura does that too, like one year the name plate will be chrome, the next it will brushed, the next it will be smaller, always a little different. They probably all do. I finally saw my second Aviator here in Portland/Gresham yesterday. Where the heck they're all hiding is beyond me...
  11. I finally succumbed. After months of badgering me, I threw in the towel and finally ordered my wife a Black Label emblem for her Nautilus. My fault that I showed her one on the back of another from a Lincoln website. Okay well it is cool... It took like ten minutes of discussion to figure out exactly where to put it... You pay the big money so why aren't these just on there? Well anyway, I had to pay the vulgar amount they wanted for what looks like a one dollar part. I could find it no less than a little over $60 with shipping included. At least the wife is happy for now until the next generation of Nautilus comes out with 6 wheel drive where she'll have to have that. So I'm good for now...
  12. That really sucks about your workmates. You don't say what city you're in. It seems like perhaps you're in a hotspot? I wish all your compadres well and thanks for being on the front lines of double danger, fire and bugs - ugh ? My daughter is on the Front lines too. She's a nurse at an area large hospital. Portland is a fairly large city, not like NY large but large enough to have our share of idiots who won't stay home when they should, that could possibly lead to some real nasty curves upwards. But here's the good news - here, most of the people around ARE doing what they should and staying home and being real careful around others. Her hospital has a floor sectioned off for CV-19 patients so they're ready to do what they need to do. Guess how many people are in there? Zero. That's right there's no one in there at all. There's some cases west of me in the Washington co area but there's very very few cases around me. Those that are testing positive are somewhere, but not around here thank God. I took a few guitars into a guitar shop to get put up for sale yesterday. Everything is appointment only. The aura of everyone you meet just reeks of "God I hope you aren't going to infect me". I can't blame them, but it sucks. Today, I wanted to buy a special CD player from a HiFi shop and I had to do everything over the phone, then call when I got there, and then they come out and leave it on the dumpster and then dive back in the store like you're a flesh eating zombie. My 95yr old Mom's care facility is locked down like NORAD on DEFCON1.
  13. I sure hope you're right. I'm hoping everyone will want to get some entertainment but all I get from most people I see is stay the H away from me! Not that I can blame them. Thank God I don't live in NY or any other crazy hotspot! I went to Costco this afternoon. It was like dead. It's always a huge clusterbang so to see it with not even one person in line to pay was so weird. I feel like the Omega Man... (anyone remember that movie?). From what I knew, here in Oregon we were supposed to be somewhat locked down-stay-the-H-home until April 15th. But I drove by a big casino north of me in Washington (iLani) and they said they were opening back up April 9th. I don't know how they can open, but any venue that has bands needs musicians and sound/light people so the ball will roll for everyone when people get unparanoid and things flatten out. Better safe than sorry though, too many overseas just didn't get it. It seems so normal now to have a bottle of hand sanitizer in my cup holder. Squirt when I go in somewhere and bigger squirt when I get back in the car. When I do go somewhere by myself, Ive been taking my ELR and going electric. Today we took the Nautilus and I forgot how supple the ride is. I was digging it. Even on 21's... such a great car.
  14. I'm going out of my mind. I've got a high fever and it's cabin fever. I just can't get motivated to do anything except stare at my computer screen at things I can't afford... The only headway I've made is really getting back into playing my guitars and making them like new again. I think I've played more in the last 2 months than the last 5 years put together. Assuming that you guys have your own hobbies and have been doing things that perhaps you just didn't have time for earlier... For you that still have a job, I sincerely am super happy for you. In my world, everything even remotely connected to the entertainment business is quieter than a sleeping tumbleweed. So what's everybody been doing? Keeping that Lincoln waxed up?
  15. I hear you but there isn't a better time to point out that when you're in your own car, you're in your own space. When you're in a Uber, Lyft, bus, whatever - you're in the hundred people before you Corona corral. No thanks. I'll pay the money and have the satisfaction I'm escaping some moron that never washes their hands or sneezes all over the vehicle. ?
  16. Whatever you do, don't sit in a Black Label interior and then go look at Teslas. The Tesla will look like crap compared to the Black Label and then you will definitely have a lower opinion of Teslas..... Although with the Tesla you can play video games on that huge screen so there is that ?
  17. With the Corsair, I certainly agree..... It's pretty low...seems way lower than our Nautilus.
  18. Just thought I'd mention it for those that like to watch his videos. As usual, I learned something I didn't know about it, and as well he missed a few things. Most glaring is he complains the rear seat doesn't go back far enough and doesn't know it goes back like another 6".... Second, he goes through the modes, and then slightly complains the handling isn't super great but as far as I can tell he never switches to excite mode... who knows? Overall, you can tell Doug likes Lincolns. The red color of the one he's detailing looks great. If you look at how low he rates most cars then the "Doug score" is pretty good.
  19. This is some great info. Sounds like it's worth it to me, those rims are spendy. I didn't even know about it. Which looking back I just realized that in all my new car buying experiences over the last 30 years, this is the first time (buying our BL Nautilus) I've never been led into the "office" while doing the paperwork and been offered all the different things you can buy. I mean they offered me nothing, not even extended warranties... It was the end of the night though, I think everyone just wanted to go home..... I would think one BL rim would more than pay for a tire/warranty package. Personally I've been super duper lucky and never bent a rim and I've hit my share of car swallowing pot holes ?. There was that one though where I hit a concrete anchor "J" bolt laying in the road and it ruined a brand new Continental... Boy what a sound that was driving up the street with a J bolt sticking out ?
  20. wow that's insane that there was/is so many no shows at the Dallas auto show. I would be ticked if I went to the show and there were so many no-shows. Yes the show and venue is pretty awesome in Portland. If you're a Porsche nut, there's a HUGE Porsche display and tons of old ones to oogle over. I personally could care less about Porsches so it doesn't do anything for me, but they did a great job making it Porsche heaven for those that like them. Since by my earlier post about my somewhat disdain over Toyota parts/repairs/reliability I really tried to steer my daughter from any Toyotas even though she loves the 4Runner. I even tried the big Mazda display, since they really have a lot of sizes and types to offer as well as our past great record with Mazdas. But she hates the rear end of those cars for some reason. In retrospect, I really want her to check out the Corsair as it's interior is excellent (to me and the wife anyway) and AWD capability. I know the Lincoln stereo is going to blow away the Toyota so I may be able to coax her out of a 4Runner that way...these kids these days value their stereos pretty highly (as well as my lovely wife ?). Since Lincoln wasn't there at the show I'm going to try and get her to the dealer. If she doesn't like the lower non tree climbing look of the Corsair versus the 4Runner, at least got her interest up in the Edge. She at least would entertain it due to it's cheaper price and nicer material interior. Can't understand how a big city like Dallas wouldn't have a better Auto show.... Great city. Last time I was there boy the food was great!
  21. Sorry, I thought I mentioned it. The Portland (PDX) Auto show
  22. I went to the Auto show last night. I couldn't believe it, Lincoln NOR Cadillac was there...so weird. I didn't see anything under 200k that I liked better than our Combo Nautilus/ELR . I don't care about vroom vroom super fast cars. I drive in the city everyday, I would never use the power nor would I enjoy paying the insurance on high-end cars. The biggest disappointment was the Lexus LC500 (the sporty low beautiful one). It's the only Lexus I can stand to look at with the Atomic bow-tie grill. I like the looks of that car. It was hard to get in and out of, would be hard to see out of and I thought the interior and especially the dashboard weird and very disappointing. It's like they just didn't know what the heck to do with it. The only thing that was great besides the rear lines was the seat. It was the most amazing seat I think I've ever sat it. I guess for over 92k it better be. The main reason I went was because my daughter is in the market for a new car. She has her heart set on an overpriced-for-no-reason Toyota 4runner. I just don't get why that car is so expensive. And she thinks it's cool looking - ugh. She's one of those people who think Toyota is SO reliable. I bought her a Scion XD 10 years ago. It has not even 80k miles on it and has had a lot of problems that should NEVER happen in under 80k miles. This last week it was a front wheel bearing to the tune of over $800!!! Last time I had a wheel bearing go out in a Chevy it was like under $100 to have someone else do it and the part too. Toyota parts and repair are a total ripoff. Personally I'd never buy one again, and that XD has had more problems than maybe 4 of our cars put togther. But all that is only part of the night. I persuaded her to go look at other cars. Really wasn't much to choose from, everything is too small or too big. We ended up at the Ford display. In my opinion the Ford Edge was the best car for the money. You get way more car and interior for less money than the Toyota. In the end, that Toyota would be a big car payment. The Edge would definitely be less. At least I got her thinking about it...
  23. Oops!!! Was thinking Nautilus... that's how it works in our Nautilus. The second it doesn't see the lane in ACC it dings and goes from green to yellow and back to green when it sees the line again. I guess they don't work the same. But it does ding (I think) if you take your hand off the wheel for a time, I know you get the display message anyway...
