  1. Bold to assume any of the people that are commenting on what it does or doesn’t look like are “non-buyers”. But I can see where people think it looks like a Flex (which why is that considered bad?). For me it’s the black roof that gives me Flex vibes. But god forbid Ford‘s second boxy vehicle in modern times that has a black top hat reminds anyone of Ford’s first boxy vehicle in modern times with a black top hat. I still want to know why it matters to the few whining what vehicles it reminds people of. Is it ok that I get BMW X6 vibes from the Mustang SUV (side profile)? Or is that not allowed?
  2. Who are you to tell anyone what they see and don’t see? You must be a riot at art galleries. Telling everyone what they should and should not be seeing. The arrogance of that post is truly astounding. People like you and akirby who are whining and jumping on people because of their stated reactions to how a vehicle looks and what it reminds them of. What does it matter to you if someone looks at the Bronco or Bronco Sport and sees something you don’t? To belittle someone because they had the audacity to post their honest, visceral reaction to finally seeing these two vehicles really says a lot about that person. Lastly please link the article where the Ford executive or Bronco Sport designer said this is the literal successor to the boxy Escape from years back. Sounds like an interesting article, I’d love to read it.
  3. Ok this is critical you must get your wife to the eye doctor immediately! And why is she implying Ford simply copied the Wrangler?
  4. Lol wow. You’re just looking to be offended at this point. Whatever dude. “Looks like” or “getting Wrangler vibes” does NOT imply Ford copied it (although how many spy pics were there with a Wrangler in tow?). I think you’re smart enough to understand what people are saying. Just like with the sloping roof on the Aviator make it look like a Range Rover with the side profile. I see many things that remind me of Jeep. I see many things that do not look like the Jeep. Bottom line....it’s ok that people say it looks like the Wrangler and it shouldn’t effect you at all. Certainly not to the point you are lashing out at people’s ocular health. There’s no implication, there’s no malice. Relax.
  5. Apparaently you need your eyes checked and glasses because it can only look like a Bronco and absolutely nothing else and you’re crazy to think think it even resembles anything else. And I’m the broken record jeeze. ——————————— Don’t know why people take it so personally when someone voices that it looks like another vehicle. It doesn’t affect you. It doesn’t have any bearing on your life. Stop being so closed minded and chill. (Not directed you you J)
  6. How bad Ford bungled the new Explorer. The fact you can get a lease for the same price as the new Escape (which isn’t doing well) is eye opening.
  7. Thing these photos don’t suck. They’re not the usual potato shots taken and “leaked”, these are very high quality. But I agree......the more I see, the more it screams Wrangler. I showed it to a buddy who’s going to be in the market soon and is very interested in the Bronco (He’s a Ford guy having owned an F150, Escape, and a 2010 Mustang GT). He said it looks just like a Wrangler and that given the choice he’d go with the Jeep due to the vast aftermarket support.
  8. Ok. For sure. Never doubted that. I can’t imagine how Ford would be laughed off the automotive world stage if they came out with the Bronco version of the Sport Trac Adrenaline. But like you I’m just not wowed by it. But that’s not even an indication I wouldn’t buy it. I very well may as it will tow infinitely better than the Wrangler. I agree with everything you said and especially the last part. I was skeptical that Ford could pull this off with some of the recent introductions they’ve had.
  9. Not at all. Slab sides, basic door handles. The grille has some character but the rest looks rather generic. I see a lot of the Wrangler influence in the design which is a little disappointing. Idk maybe it was the entirely too long ramp up or the spy shots but, like others here, I wasn’t wowed. That being said, once the official press shots drop, I may change my tune. But that deliberately released factory pic is pretty detailed.
  10. Oof. Clearly the A-Team was working on the Bronco while the interns got this project. This vehicle really needed to be something special to justify needing to have an entirely different model and man I’m not seeing it. I think Ford would have been far better served blending this with the new Escape and having one vehicle. They would have sold every single one they could build. And fix that damn badging! White looks awful. Black or a dark grey would have been a much better choice (as would have a different name). Im sure they will sell though. Seems anything that looks like an SUV these days sells without issue. Just not my cup of tea.
  11. It looks good enough. Very conservative design, nothing Earth shattering. Maybe the interior has some neat things but so far, I’m not seeing anything that justifies how long it took to finally get this thing out. Should do well though assuming it’s not priced like recent Fords (cough Explorer cough). Realistically the power train will be its biggest claim to fame. The rest is good but not really anything special (like the Ranger)
  12. I don’t understand your point. Should we be thanking Ford for knowingly making cars with faulty and dangerous transmissions and then ignoring the problem for years? All so a journalist could have the opportunity to uncover how corrupt Ford was with this transmission? Personally I’m glad the consumers will see some sort of compensation after being taken advantage of by this company.
  13. I certainly agree there. I never understood the attraction to that generation. It looked like someone took a straight edge and carved a block of cheese on the outside and the inside was a sea of hard plastic. I did really like the 2010 refresh though. It’s almost as if they spent more time on that then the entirety of the 2005 car. It was actually styled, it looked properly aggressive, the body had character rather than being slab sided. The interior was worlds better. It’s honestly what the 2005 car should have been. (all OPINIONS above are mostly based on the GT Mustangs and above and not really on the V6 models)
  14. What does it matter if it is from Fox? We've already established the death rate is plunging and, outside of Wuhan it's 0.7%. Lastly, there are almost 100k documented cases. More than likely there are many more that are undocumented. How would you realistically contain that in a way that is both responsible and effective? I will tell you that if I get this cold I will most certainly not lock myself indoors and remove myself from the world. I have to make money. If the symptoms progress from cold like to flu like then I will stay home and wait for them to subside.
  15. Hopefully this doesn't change the momentum they have had with their trucks. I hope they keep focus and continue to build the best trucks out there.
  16. You think selling 160,000 vehicles a year (roughly) in a market that sees 15-16 million sales (yearly) is anything to crow about? Especially when you have to sell carbon credits to make a profit because your vehicles cannot?
  17. EVS are a joke and nobody wants them. They are compliance vehicles. Range is not where it needs to be and "refueling" is light years away from where it needs to be.
  18. Nobody has argued the opposite or advocated that we should not be containing it. That being said there is no way to contain it so actually, those efforts will be futile. https://www.foxnews.com/media/james-phillips-americans-must-live-their-lives-99-of-people-who-get-cv-will-be-fine
  19. Really this is the only acceptable answer. I envision a future where Ford dumps the Ford name and renames itself Mustang Motor Company lol. I, for one, very much look forward to the Mustang Mach F-150
  20. Not necessarily. It's speculation that range anxiety is the reason they are seeing such few miles. Unnamed "sources" is not reliable and should be taken with a grain of salt.
  21. Can't really blame them. They look awful. But they are only leasing them. Still a colossal waste of money over an ICE vehicle that will actually be useful but it's good they didn't outright buy them. https://electrek.co/2018/01/18/lapd-bmw-i3-fleet-barely-used/ So typical of the "green" movement. "We have to spend over 10 million dollars to save money!"
  22. Like I said people need to relax. Saying things like "the death rate is higher" while not providing context is just feeding that. "at a Feb. 24 news conference in Beijing, a top Chinese health official, Liang Wannian, said the fatality rate for COVID-19 was quite high. Between 3 to 4% of patients have died," said Liang. Then he added a twist. Outside of Wuhan — the city at the epicenter of the outbreak — the death rate in China has been much lower: about 0.7%. That's fewer than 1 fatality per 100 cases." And: "Those early severe cases made COVID-19 look like a much bigger killer. It was only after officials in China stepped up surveillance that they started uncovering many more mild cases (people with symptoms such as fever and dry cough but limited or no pneumonia)." Lastly: "Also, the China CDC study shows that for coronavirus patients ages 70 to 79 the death rate more than triples. For those older than 80 it's more than six times as high." https://www.npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/2020/03/03/809904660/why-the-death-rate-from-coronavirus-is-plunging-in-china Now, while others want to absurdly twist my words and imply that I'm fine with it killing only "old sick people", the fact is, the media is being reckless in their reporting and by over-hyping this. We know it affects people that have compromised systems and the elderly. Some people that have dies have not sought treatment. Who's to say if they had been treated they wouldn't have died? Not saying we need to just sit back and use essential oils to fight this. But the reporting on this illness has been abhorrent and only designed to scare people. The facts are buried under scary headlines. Bottom line, it needs attention but it has been severely overblown.
  23. The majority that came out of the same nursing home with preexisting medical issues? Yes clearly it's time to panic lol
  24. It does matter. Because the question becomes would the factory be shut down if we didn't have all this unnecessary hysteria? How many people, in China, die every year of the cold/flu/etc? Are we comparing our flu death numbers to China's Corona virus death numbers? So many questions to be answered but, more than likely, once answered, it would show how ridiculous this hysteria really is.
