  1. That looks like crap! I'm surprised you missed it on delivery. Now, I know nothing about the assembly/paint process, but it looks like your door is bent -the seam is crooked. As if someone opened the painted door before the gap was set and made contact with the other door, chipping the paint off at minimum. Can you see a deflection in the door, is it bent? Does the gap look straight between the 2 doors? I would portray a little "red-ass" to this one...that is unacceptable quality, especially from Lincoln. Good luck.
  2. My Vibration is an embarrassing outcome. I bought a luggage rack on Ebay a few months back, before a road trip. The rack worked well for the trip, using it to haul a suitcase up top. I left the rack on there because it looked good, but it turns out, without a load this thing sings at 35mph! I owe my service tech's and advisor some donuts and gift cards after trying to throw them a curveball!! I had their Continental loaner for 4 days while they beat their heads against the wall trying to figure out my vibration. Turns out my Aviator is fine. No charge. Just got back from another 1500 mile trip...I LOVE THIS VEHICLE.
  3. Thanks for posting your repair ticket! Much appreciated!!
  4. Thank you for the update, keep us posted. I’m still driving mine with the buzzing/vibrating. Is it the output shaft to the left front wheel?
  5. My Aviator ran noise free for the first 7,000 miles, now it exhibits a drivers side buzzing/grinding noise at around 35 MPH. I took it to the dealer, they pointed me to a TSB which stated that the noise was the transfer case calibrating, this was a normal noise. It is not normal. The TSB says something to the effect, that if the AWD system has been idle for too long, ON STARTUP, you may hear this noise. My noise started happening intermittently at 35 MPH while driving around and now it is more consistent. If I drive at 35 MPH, it will do it for miles. If I accelerate through the 35 MPH zone, it won't do it, only seems to do it under light load at that speed. I've seen where a driveline was replaced, tires rebalanced. I don't believe this is a driveline issue for me. It sounds more like an actuator noise or something not metal, and I can't seem to hear it when I open the window while driving next to a wall or something. Seems to be inside the vehicle and it buzzes the entire driver side of the car. I'm going to drive it for another week before I take it back and get Lincoln involved. Any ideas from you guys?
  6. I took the Aviator in finally when it started making a buzzing/vibrating noise between 30-40 mph. They adjusted the sunroof for the wind noise, now I’ve got an actual whistle at 40 mph. They said the vibrating noise is the AWD system “calibrating” itself. It is normal. Oh hell no it’s not. back to the drawing board.
  7. I've had the Aviator since November, still loving every minute I'm in it. However, I have deemed the level of wind noise coming from the front windshield unacceptable. Anything over 40mph, and you can clearly hear the wind. It seems to be mainly in the area of the "black box" hiding the electronics behind the rear view mirror. I will keep you posted.
  8. Yeah, I don't know what I am going to do with the factory rims...
  9. I loved the Explorer ST in Black, shopped it before I shopped the Aviator. The Wheels are KMC Slides. I painted the calipers myself. I didn't want to change the tire size, so I stayed with the 20" rims. I don't have the trick air suspension, so I didn't know how it would do on the 22's. The extra rubber between rim pavement makes for a great ride.
  10. 15 MPG doesn't sound right. I'm getting 17.5 city, 24 Hiway.
  11. I had some warnings come up on the screen for "4 wheel drive system error" please service... It ended up being a simple electrical pin pushed from it's connector.
  12. I had to have my rear gate adjusted the week after delivery. That being said, I think the mis-aligned panels on the Aviator are mostly misperceived. I have had several body panel's on my Aviator fool me. What I think is a misalignment in a panel, is matched on the other side. I see trim pieces that come in to the metal panels at an angle, giving the appearance of misalignment, but go around to the other side of the vehicle and it's exactly the same. There are lots of places on the Aviator like this, it seems to be designed that way. The Aviator is a gem.
