  1. Coming back to this old thread and how I mounted my favorite NMO mag mount 3/8 wave antenna to my aluminum truck. I used an adhesive backed steel disc/plate from Rugged Radio. About $25. Works great, SWR is OK. A tree limb has already knocked the antenna over with no damage to either antenna, mount or truck. The downside is the disc is too big to fit between some of the raised ridges on the roof, so the antenna is offset to one side. So I guess there's room for another one to balance things out a bit. As the antenna is black most people don't even notice it.
  2. If by that you mean a button on a fob, or the key, no I don't have that. I don't miss it. I only use Ford Pass remote start on the most extreme hot or cold days. Otherwise I just get in the truck and crank it with a key like I have been since 1972. The truck is an XLT Premium Super Cab, FWTW
  3. My XLT premium came with a switchblade key. It also can be remote started via Ford Pass. I figured out how to start the truck with the A/C on full blast via the cell phone app. Having this, I don't really have a problem not having a fob start or push button start. Especially since I didn't want a crew cab. I sometimes think we super cab folks are the red haired step child of the Super Duty world.
  4. Never mind. I know exactly where it is! Hiding behind my dealer in a secured lot. Pick it up tomorrow. Thanks for your help.
  5. I should be off the train in Hapeville, GA and could actually be on a truck. Hopefully. VIN 1FT7X2AN7NECxxxxx ORDER TIA. Pics to follow.
  6. I should be out the door and on the train VIN 1FT7X2AN7NECxxxxx ORDER TIA for update.
  7. Does anyone know what the hours of operation are for KTP this Labor Day weekend?
  8. It is a wise woman who understands the special relationship between a man and his truck. It is a wise man who shuts up and sits down when his wife tells him too.
  9. Did they meet the build-to-day, or are they running behind. Today, 9/3, is my scheduled build-to-day.
  10. From looking at the FTE spreadsheet, sent-to-plant occurs about 8 days ahead of scheduled build-to-day. It seems Ford then actually hits the build-today much more often than not, and if not, only a day or two off.
  11. It's dark and reddish. Looks awful While they're fixing stuff, if you add factory floor mats (the no carpet kind) it does some weird stuff to the image - as if they don't "cut and paste" right.
  12. Thank you for your kind service. Looking forward to sending you a picture. VIN 1FT7X2AN7NECxxxxx ORDER Trying to confirm in production, sent to plant date with 9/3 build date.
  13. I ordered the backup cameras and the magic knob on my XLT. Got the email scheduling week of 13 Sept this afternoon. For those that want it I advise not removing the option. It "might" push you back a week or two, but I seriously doubt even that. I sort of suspected the 53R/53Q conflict "until further notice" meant "until no longer mentioned on scheduling notes" and there would not actually be a "notice" While that may not be true in all cases it was this time. Looking forward to getting our trucks.
  14. Let's hope Ford has taken the last few weeks to go back through the oldest order dates and prioritize them to the front of the line. Having waited 127 days and still no VIN or build date, from my perspective that would be a very good thing.
  15. I was actually directing this question at @ice-capades . I should have been more clear about that. I'm wondering if todays scheduling will reach back to orders placed back in March and April. I've waited 129 days so far...
  16. Does your dealership have "stale" orders going back as far as March? And if you do, are you seeing any of these on your AM Preview Scheduling Report? Looking for some hope here...
  17. Does anyone have first hand knowledge of production at KTP or OHAP? As in how many shifts are running now?
  18. So I guess Ford will concentrate on retail orders and delay stock for awhile more... Sometimes it's good to be wrong! Thanks! What the forum needs is a glossary of terms. It would be a big help to newbies and we who know nothing of the car business.
  19. From today's (8/2) production scheduling notes: All OTD Vehicle Line Scheduling - Due to constraints and production changes, it may take several weeks to schedule the OTD Fitness orders. Which when translated into English means, "We have huge piles of unscheduled orders for vehicles and we're not sure we even have the parts to build them all, much less your particular truck, so it's going to take us a while to sort all this mess out. Don't expect your truck to get scheduled 8/12 even thought we haven't scheduled a Super Duty since 7/16." All that predicated on the idea I understand what OTD Fitness means. Did I get it right?
  20. Pulling since 2008. Upgrading to F-250 because the truck is 15 years old with 210,000 miles and now I'm retired. Planning to more than just week at a time stuff. You just have to do the math.
  21. There's a bunch of this discussion over on Ford Truck Enthusiasts forum. The general consensus is that the 7.3 with 10 speed will get about 1.0 mpg better than the 6.2 6 speed set up. Not enough input from 6.2 10 speed owners, that seems a bit rare. In ordering my F-250, setting up to pull a 8000 5th wheel, I debated 6.2 vs 7.3. The tipping point for me was the 6.2 has 16 spark plugs and changing them is an all day job. The 8 plugs on the 7.3 are old school in plain sight that even an old geezer like me could do in 2 hours. Plus that extra 1 mpg. And I like the idea of a 10 speed.
  22. I called Ford Marketing today and they were nice enough to send me a picture of my truck.
  23. I noticed the XLT vs UTT/PTBA commodity wasn't mentioned in this weeks Scheduling notes. Does that mean the problem is resolved?
  24. Yes, I am still somewhat peeved I'm dropping mid $50K on a truck and I only get one color choice? Really?
  25. Perhaps it won't be that bad. Using bar code readers the truck could be identified, then the missing components listed and identified. These would be tossed into the truck along with floor mats, hub caps and all the rest. Maybe 5 minutes per truck at most? At least that's the way I'd do it. I sure wouldn't separate parts from the vehicle by shipping UPS. On Edit: I just carefully read the article. Oh hell no.... separating parts from trucks by distance AND time?
