  1. Wondering if anyone has had any resolution to this? Now that it is consistently below -10C/14F in these parts, the footwell issue is troublesome. I find that even with full fan speed, with the vent selector set to "foot", it still can't seem to heat the area. I'm not sure if there is actual cold air leaking from somewhere (I find it hard to believe), or if the foot fans/vent(s) are just not strong enough.
  2. You can see where the latches are on the two pieces. The front trim piece was very easy. I used a plastic trim tool to just pry on the bottom and top. The buttons/knobs are all one unit that screws into the trim piece and can be very easily disconnected. The back trim piece is for the 2nd row console, if you have it. It was a little trickier as there are 6 clips there and I used the pry tool from the side. The trick was that when I would pry up the one side, the other would latch back into place, so I used a second pry tool to hold the first side and then pried up the second. Same thing with the electronics, it easily disconnects from the console, and is held in place by a few torx screws. I haven't attacked the dash trim pieces. The dealer told me that you'd have to pull the whole dash, which I'm not interested in doing, but I'm not sure if they are correct or not. I'm concerned that they may be screwed in at one or two spots.
  3. I have another theory with this issue. Did you check if your 2nd and 3rd row climate controls are on? Mine were off, and my theory was that cold air from the back is being pulled in under the seats when warm air is being blown from the front only. I have enabled the 2nd and 3rd row temperature controls to "Auto" and I will see if this continues happening.
  4. I've noticed this also, but it is intermittent and I haven't found a pattern. Additionally, I have found that sometimes it seems to get quite hot, while other times it doesn't seem to heat up enough, even though the temperature settings hasn't changed. I had two Explorers ('14 & '18) before this vehicle and didn't have such issues.
  5. Super! I think I might dismantle one of those 12V-to-5V USB cigarette lighter adapters, they are a dime a dozen.
  6. Just came here for the exact same question! Is the white wire switched with the ignition? My dashcam has USB power, so I'm assuming I need a 12V to 5V adapter?
  7. I decided to dive into this. The Center and Rear consoles were easy to remove. 4 clips on the front console, 6 clips on the rear console (I have attached images). I'm very happy with the result. I ended up trying a "carbon fiber" wrap, since I had some leftover. Results look good.
  8. I just picked up my Aviator today. Beautiful car, but the wood trim is hideous. I want to give it a try to wrap it. Has anyone removed any of the trim pieces? Any suggestions how they come out?
  9. I just signed for a 2020 Aviator. I came to this forum with the exact same question. I chose the Ebony Black on Silver color combination. I like everything about it except for the wood trim. I wish they made this an option. Regardless, I'm thinking of doing a wrap on the wood trim, as replacing it would be far too expensive (it is a lease). Does anyone know if the trim simply "snaps" out? It would be much easier to wrap with it off the vehicle. Any suggestions for getting it off would be much appreciated.
