I'm wondering the same thing. I have a F-250 on order with a 3/21/21 build date. My Fleet salesman told me the truck i ordered would sale within 2 days, and they wouldn't have any issue if reordered a 2022. I am anxiously awaiting to here what the 2022 changes are!

    The changes were announced yesterday.

The solution is to go to another dealer, just like any other business.  Ford can’t force dealers to treat customers well.

I totally understand, and I don't blame Ford itself but it is a bad look if I weren't a Ford loyalist and understood how dealers work. I emailed the sales manager today and we'll see where that gets me. Anyway, I don't want to get off track. Just giving an example as to why more transperancy would ne nice.

  3. I really wish this would become a reality. In the ideal world the dealer would provide timely updates to the customer. Unfortunately, many times that is not the case. My dealer for example, I have called and called for a VIN and every time I am told there are no updates. Problem is, I know there is a VIN. I ran into a Ford employee at my job and we got to talking and he looked it up and gave me a VIN. I even see my truck on my dealers website with my vin as on order. I know they have it. What motivation they have to withhold it is unclear to me but here we are. If the customer had some direct transparency they wouldn't have people in my situation.

I have been a loyal Ford customer for years and I am feeling so put off by this dealer. That reflects on Ford unfortunately. I have no information other than what the tracker provides which we know is inconsistent at best. As far as my dealer knows I don't even have my VIN, I keep asking hoping they'll volunteer it but it never happens. A more transparent process would be very welcome.

I’m sure your right with it being case by case.  I figured if they didn’t want to attempt the order we are good with that at the other dealer.  Thanks to every one of these posts I know what to ask for when we go Sat.

    1. Do you require a deposit

    2. Could I have the DoRA when ordered.

    3. Looks like final orders are due by Mar 18 according to schedule sub forum with production runs being in April.

    4. It takes 33 hours to build one. Fun fact

    5. What is the website to track my order?  Asking this so they know I will be checking up to make sure they submitted.

    6. Could you adjust my priority code to 10?

anyone else have any good questions to ask?  All help is much appreciated.

Once you get your VIN this is where you can track it. Bookmark it for later.

Thanks for the feedback.  We are supposed to go this coming Saturday.  We will talk about deposit, and any deals they might have going on.  I know there isn’t usually many incentives for the super duties.  We were hoping to be able to get what we’d wanted by late May for traveling as well, and some of these posts about the wait times make me wonder if that is even possible.  Thanks again for your help.

I have zero insider knowledge at all. That being said upfront I have been looking lots of different places for people's experience with ordering a Superduty and this is what it seems to me. The progress for orders has been all over the map. It seemed like things really slowed down for a while there and many who ordered back in December and January are finally getting delivered. Recently it feels like it's been faster. I saw a few ordered in February that people say are already in production. Im sure the mileage varys based on dealer allocation. I would ask the dealer point blank of they have allocation and if they are going to be able to fulfill the order. I have a Superduty on order February 1st but I have no idea the progress because this particular dealer has been hard to get information out of. I do know I already have a VIN and a window sticker but that's about it. I have no idea if I have a production date or not. The tracker just says "in production" with no date. That being said others who ordered around the same time as me have production dates. As I said I have no insider knowledge just thought I would share my experience from looking around the internet for a time frame. Hope it helps just a little. It does feel to me with some February orders in production things are moving a little quicker than they were a month ago. Im sure much has to do with each particular dealer.

  6. I have been wondering the same thing about the 2022 Superduty? Apparently the orders open on March 15th. I would think we would hear rumors about the interior change by now for both expedition and Superduty if it were happening.

I think it means the truck is actually being built.

The date on the bottom of the sticker is wierd.  For my truck, it started with 1/27 (I believe the day the order was pulled), 1/28 (the day it went to plant), 2/4 (day built - this roughly coincided with the dealers system which said the vehicle was "scheduled to day" of 2/2),  2/11 (I am guessing the day it loaded onto the rail car since it arrived in ND at midnight on the 12th...but Alumizilla said it was "in transit" on the 7th...but I know it had to go by truck to the rail depot), and finally 2/19 (when I am guessing it arrived at the  Rail Depot in Western Washington state).

This is all pure guesswork on my part.  I am not completely sure what causes the date to change.  I am sure someone knows!

    I hope this helps somewhat...

Thanks. I was kind of curious if that date would change in the process. My dealer hasn't been much help at all during this process. I call and ask for an update and they say nothing available. I only have a VIN because some kind soul on a Facebook group looked it up for me. Not sure why they wouldn't give it to me and why they want to hold back information. ?‍♂️

Those auto parts places and Amazon inverters are usually the low cost modified sin or square wave models.  From what I have read, the f150 uses a pure sin wave inverter.  Even the non hybrid models get an extra 12v battery and alternator with the 2kw pro power option.  Much more than just a cheap inverter.  Glad people are trying to educate them...I wish the educators luck.

I remember an episode of 60 minutes where they were interviewing a Ford executive and he was saying how many foreign car owners insisted their cars had certain features they did not have and would not buy American because of some notions that were no longer true.

Having used those inverters for years and having also used the Ford pro power there is definitely nothing the same about them. First off pro power has the Ability to supply way more power. Next, if you want to use an inverter you either better have the truck running or prepare for a dead battery. Pro power allows the battery to maintain itself and only run the truck as needed. Then 5he ability to control from your cell phone is extremely handy. The clean power is another issue. Sensitive electronics will have no problem with pro power. Anyone claiming a simple invertor will do the same thing has not done any research first.

    Was going Bronco and have an early reservation but decided against that with the climate of the world. Thinking of going back to truck and the PowerBoost just went to the top of the list. Three improvements I’d like to see though;

    • add an all weather outlet next to the license plate like a trailer plugin so you can run power and keep your bed cover or shell sealed up and secure.

    • have the ability within FordPass to monitor the power screen from inside your home so you can keep an eye on the electrical load without going outside to the truck.

    • find a way, someway, to integrate the 36 gallon extended tank to provide even longer run time in such a scenario.

    • OH... and get it on a 250 stat!

Compare the price of a new truck AND an installed home generator and you’re at the price of a PowerBoost model so it becomes a wash. Only now you have the power mobile.

You can scratch one wish off your list. The Ford app gives you the ability to see what the pro power is doing as far as electrical load and lets you turn it on and off from your phone.

Just checked my VIN on fords website. says it's "in production"  ordered 12-26, this Saturday 2-6 will be 6 weeks so maybe I can hold my breath on the 8 week time frame. I've read where 450s do take a bit longer, plus you had the holidays in there.

What exactly does in production mean? I know that might seem obvious. Mine says that but no date on the production line. Also wondering if anyone knows what the date at the bottom of the window sticker means if anything? Mine says 2/16/21

  11. Hi!

New to the forum and excited I found this place. I come from a long mine of Ford owners. I live in the Salt Lake City, Utah area and work in the airline industry.

I have owned a few Fords through the years with my latest being a 2010 F150 and a 2015 Expedition EL. I currently have my first Ford Superduty on order and trying to be patient. Can't wait to see my new baby!

I look forward to being a part of the community and conversing with other Ford enthusiasts.

Certain configs were over 2k.  Some are only 1200lb or so.  I was looking at the 6.5’ bed and want 2-2.5k payload.  Maybe Ford will offer it with the 7800lb gvwr.

Yeah, my problem was I needed a Supercrew and I have six in the family. The super crew max payload was 1800 lbs. Pile 6 people in that cab and you start losing payload real quick. That's ok. I only see good things in the future for this pro power on board. I can be patient and get one down the road in a Superduty. ?
