  1. Hard to plan for black swan events.  Clearly, no one anticipated, 1st the global pandemic, 2nd the length of time it would disrupt supply chains.  A LOT of material moves on airplanes, that is the usual method of short cutting other supply chain interruptions.  With virtually no planes flying between continents, it's difficult to plan.

This is impacting everything from auto parts to building material, and to even food.  It's being compounded by "free" money, and people not willing to go back to work.

GOOD! Just-in-time is stupid and needs to go.

Financially, it's required.  Having excess inventory is very expensive to a corporation.
    .
Single source is a bigger problem.  OEM's have teams of people, who manage supply chain disruptions, such as supplier bankruptcy, supplier catastrophic events, or supply chain shipping disruptions.  Shipping right now is a huge issue.  Without passenger planes flying to put industrial products on, product can sit for weeks waiting for aircraft with available space.  Theory of single supplier, OEM's can better control supplier quality, and obtain better pricing.

Just talked to my salesman...he said his print screen isn't working so he can't send it to me, but says it's scheduled the week of the 6/14.  Hopefully that is the case.  This feels like the keep moving Christmas day....lol.

    Introduce him to Snipping tool.

Is anyone else in the northeast having trouble finding a dealer that will put an order in with x-plan pricing? I’ve talked to 5 or 6 now and all have said they won’t do x-plan because they can hardly get trucks as it is. One dealer said they would but refused to give me anything in writing. Seemed like they were leaving themself an out if x-plan was still substantially under market value when the truck came in. It makes sense given they have limited allocations and don’t make much on x-plan deals compared to msrp but it makes me wonder how everyone else is getting their x-plan orders submitted.

Dealers have the option to not accept AXZ Plan Pricing.  Seems silly, they get a guaranteed sale with very little money outlaid.  Cheap borrowing has led to higher prices in used vehicles, as dealers can sit on a car for months until they find that perfect sucker.

I pay annually.  Last time I did it entirely online. Took five minutes.

Talking to them, I deleted the vehicle that the prime account was linked to.  What a mess.... took me a week and several phone calls to straighten that out.  I would have been perfectly happy to do that online.  In addition, I reactivated another vehicle, and because it had traffic too, the script readers in India didn't understand how the same vehicle would have two separate accounts.  After several calls, finally got it escalated to US support.  15 minutes later, everything was fixed.

SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link are different / separate products from Sirius Radio. You need not have one to have the other. (And if you choose to get Sirius Radio know that they regularly negotiate - I pay a fraction of the book rate each year).

I'm not a fan of needing to threaten them with cancellation to get the deals.  Also never understood why when you get the good deal, requiring monthly payments and not accepting annual payments

^^^ Keep in mind that the 2021 3.31/10 speed equipped truck can put more torque to the rear axle in first gear than a 2019 4.30/6 speed equipped truck can.  And in reverse a 2019/6 speed would need 5.0 rear gears to put the level of torque to the rear axle that a 3.31 equipped 10/speed can.

    MOAR POWER :)

Thank you for the detail breakdown.  I ordered the F350 with 3.31 based on your analysis.  And the fact my new 5er GVWR is 14,300, I should be in awesome shape!

  8. Limited number of changes makes it a product design quiet year.  I wouldn't expect any issues with OKTB being delayed due to component quality.

Chips, that's a completely different issue, and the larger scale issue, it's affecting all the manufacturers.
