Yep. Why do you think we are still wearing masks even though it did nothing to stop covid from spreading during 2 different outbreaks?

Because MSM been screaming the false narrative that it would save people.  Low information voters believe it to be true.

Repetition makes a fact seem more true, regardless of whether it is or not. Understanding this effect can help you avoid falling for propaganda, says psychologist Tom Stafford.

“Repeat a lie often enough and it becomes the truth”, is a law of propaganda often attributed to the Nazi Joseph Goebbels.

The Illinois circus of mandates has come to an end. The requirement of proof of vax to enter restaurants and bars is over with the consent of ring master prickster.

Wonder when the adults at CAP will get around to making the decision to make face diapers optional?

you mean like still requiring you get the jab, even after the courts ruled against mandatory jab?

Is it a good idea to buy the extended warranty and service contract on a new F-250 Diesel?

generally no, but this is coming from someone that did get the extended warranty and service contract.  I took the Flood Ford price in with me to the dealership, and my dealer came close to matching the price.  Close enough that I bit :)

When I looked at the cost of paying for oil changes, the maintenance contract comes out to be net 0.  I've always changed my own oil, but with us traveling 6 months, I'm not dragging my oil changing stuff around with me.

  4. If you get into a sharp angle, you may start running into an issue.  Normally, I'd say it's no big deal, but on this trip, my first long stop, I was 90 degrees baking into the site, and came close to it on our 2nd stop.  I might prefer the this type over the retrax design, but I like that retrax can hold up to 500 lbs.  It works out well to stand on the bed to do things like working on the trailer :)

No worries RT, at least we all learned something except the thread starter didn't get his question answered but not sure it can be without more info.

It's been reported, but I didn't investigate myself, the only diff between HPCC and F350 is the rear spring, AND a lower capacity sticker on the F250 HPCC.

I looked up where I probably got the 14k from, and that's the limit on a class 3 truck

So the new retirement is "terminated at advanced age with some service".

Know someone who left Ford, who is pension eligible. They will REGAIN Z plan eligibility when they finally collect a pension.

I hesitate to call it the new normal.

I'm literally caught between events.  I'll be 65 in February and joined ford 9 years ago in January.  I could stay until Feb getting to both 65 and 10 years, however, my wife is medically retired and we're ready to start the next phase of my life.  We've had too many health issues and as reminded by a dear and departed friend, everyday is a gift.  It was actually a hard decision to stay until until August, but we don't travel much in the summer anyway, preferring to travel in the off season. Plan two years ago was to stay until 65, but Covid literally sped up our retirement plans, including the SD and 5th wheel.

Yes, COBRA is available. This is a life change, and without income, you might be better off with your state's exchange. COBRA is expensive.

I get that.  But with the exchange, deductibles are extremely high, and I'll only need it for a few months.  I'll look at it again in the fall

I have the bakflip mx4 and it works great.  I fold it up to the last section and leave that one down.  I don't have the CHMBL camera but I can look over the back window and see the hitch just fine.  I've ordered a new F350 with the CHMBL camera.  I'm not sure which cover I'm going to get.  The bakflip is pretty heavy and I was thinking about getting a soft tonneau cover to reduce the weight on the payload capacity.

All the options impact payload.  If you're that tight on payload, upgrade to DRW and be done.

Does that show up in the order guide anywhere, if so, I missed it?  Also, if that is the case, the question I had is even more pertinent that the thread starter is asking for a comparison of F250 with HCTTP vs. F350 but if you're correct, you'd have to know which of three different GVWRs for F350.  Plus, the other question I had is the question about comparing GVWRs or GCWRs.

Those are optional gvwr.  Choose neither one unless you need to.

Looks like std is 14k in tow guide docs

SRW F350 has two available GVWRs, one is 10k, the optional is 11.4k, which one are you asking about?  Is your question about GVWR or GCWR comparison?  There are many different choices and options that make it difficult to make this comparison.  But at first glance, it would appear no advantage to buy an F350 vs an F250 with HCTTP.  According to towing capacity charts, they both have same ratings with same engine and axle ratios, I think the real difference is in the payload capacity and that depends on the GVWR that is selected on F350.

    787Toolman

Not quite right, 10k is optional, as is 11.4k.  Both of these are designed for states where capacity has a legal meaning.

Standard is (IRC) 13.4k.  Unless you have a legal or registration reason for lower GVWR, don't choose the optional restricted load limits.

I’m thinking about putting a bright driving light of some kind on my ranch hand legend grill guard and hooking it to the upfitter switches.  Something bright for driving in the country. I’m sure some folks have done this already.

Any pictures, prices, ideas, pitfalls, etc.?

    Thank You!

Friend mine had LED flood lights attached on all 4 sides of his roof rack.  It came in handy one night while taking a siesta in a rest area.  Somebody was beating on his window hollering something, he hit the switch and instant daylight.  Guy took off running :)

I'm trying to decide if I need to put a roof rack on my SD..  Need to find something to do with the upfitter switches :)

Waiting on my ordered F350 CCSB 7.3 Lariat Ultimate w/ 5th wheel prep (current estimated build date 3/7).  Looking for input on a secure tonneau cover that works with the CHMBL camera for hooking up, maybe occasional checking on RV/cargo.  I like the fold up type (Gator FX3, BAK, etc.) and some look like they may not block the CHMBL camera.  I've seen the roll-up hard covers (like the revolver), which seem to be the best solution.  Anyone out there found the best solution?  It seems the roll-ups are convenient and secure, but mixed reviews on long-term use.  I also am concerned about whether the rails on the flush-mount  type covers interfere with the use of a 5th wheel or goosebox.

If anyone has a cover they like and works for towing I'd like to hear about it.

    Toesies,

I have the Ford optional cover that is very likely made by retrax.  I love it, because I can lock the cover just in front of the hitch, and the stuff undercover stays dry.  It does take up a little bit of space in the front of the bed.

Also found a great use for the cover this weekend, waxing the trailer :)  I can stand on the bed cover and almost reach the top of the trailer :)

  13. Those numbers are ridiculous.

Contact Flood Ford, they sell the plans much less expensive.

I chose to go with maintenance plan for my 6.7D.  We expect to be doing a lot of travel, and may or may not be near home to do oil and fuel filter changes myself.  Maintenance plan costs, pretty much are net zero to paying a shop to do them.

I have owned both,2021 cc4x4 7.3 w 3:55 and 2022 cc 4x4 6.7 w 3:55.I liked the 7.3 , but I tow my fifth wheel a lot .It had plenty of power as far as towing but when towing up a grade it would downshift to fifth gear and really roar to get up to speed.Normal driving it got about 14.5 mpg,and towing the fifth wheel about 7.5.

The 6.7 tows effortlessly. It doesn’t downshift unless it’s a pretty good grade, and is very quiet. The 6.7 gets about 19.5 with normal driving and I get about 12.8 mpg towing a 14000 lb fifth wheel.I like them both but for me I tow a lot and the 6.7 is hands down better for my use.

How fast are your towing the 5th wheel.  I was going 67-70, and getting about 11mpg with the 6.7.  Top of the AC unit is 13'4" high and weighs 13.4k
