  1. I have a factory order retractable tonneau on my 2021 F-450. From my use of the Ford retractable tonneau, I'd have to say - it's a great product. I also have the factory 5th wheel hitch package and for anybody who is wondering - no issue closing the tonneau cover - even when the hitch is set in the highest position. I purchashed the Rino rack system to fir the T slot in the Ford tonneau cover and it fits perfectly. I carry two 12 ft. kayaks with this set up (using J rack kayak holders) and I have no concerns. One of the things I like about this set up is how quickly you can put the racks on and take them off.
  2. In June, I took delivery of my 2021 F-450. It is nothing short of an amazing truck for safely towing heavy (over 18,000 lbs.) trailers. I tow at approximately 60 miles an hour and the ride is quiet and comfortable. Bumps are not an issue. When I drive unloaded and without a trailer on the same highways the ride is still quiet and comfortable with no jarring bumps. That's because the highways I travel on are in good shape. However when I travel on rough roads with pot holes I experience a very rough ride. So, I think the answer to your question is really this - what types of roads will you be travelling on as a daily driver. If the roads are in good shape - you will be fine. Bad roads equal a rough ride. As an aside, driving empty at 75 mph, I do not experience any unusual handling or vibration.
  3. While 6 inches seams to be the recommended/minimum distance between the top of the bed and a 5th wheel, a little more distance would be beneficial with certain large toy haulers and 5th wheels. Some RV manufacturers are trying to create as much headroom as possible at the front of the 5th wheel. As such, to stay under 13 1/2 feet (typical interstate maximum height restriction) a higher pick up bed becomes problematic. As an aside, observation only, many dually (in particular) Super Duties used by campers/snowbirds may rarely see off road action. So an option that lowers F-350 and F-450's might be a real hit?
