  1. All very valid points and makes complete sense to me. I just want to point out the you can buy a Ford Premium Care Warranty that covers 125K miles/8 years whichever occurs first for $3,000 or 8/150K for $4500. Most diesels don't have any issues until about 125K miles and that cost is $5K to $8K from what I have seen.
  2. I thought the same thing and brought that up when I was discussing the value of my used truck with the buyer's rep at my dealer. I was concerned about the 2021 supply hitting the market and he told me they had all already shipped and the only trucks left were F150's. After hanging up with him, I started to look around, run searches on Ford.com, and talked to several dealers and there was 2021 at most dealerships. Most were asking MSRP plus $5K for XL and XLT and MSRP plus $10K for higher level trims. Since then, a couple of dealers have called and offered trucks to me at MSRP. Since Ford is having trouble delivering retail orders I don't see how dealer inventories are going to pick up anytime soon.
  3. It is my understanding, from my dealers buyer's rep, that all the 2021 Super Duties shipped out over a month ago and it looks like the dealers are moving them pretty quick with most being sold above MSRP, at least in my area. I think we had a slight uptick in supply when they shipped and now supply is dropping off again. The used values took a dip and now are ever so slightly creeping back up. I think this will continue thru year end before buyers start waiting for the 2023's to come out.
  4. I see the maintenance on the website. Are you saying that they are not discounted the same or as much? I don't typically ever buy warranties, but for the diesel, they actually seem pretty reasonable.
  5. Installed the covers today. Overall I like them and they will do. I am not a fan of seat covers and it's hard for me to cover up the leather, but it's a work truck for now and I want to protect them. Overall the covers fit well. I would give them a 9 out of 10. The instructions are worthless and I don't think they are intended for power seats or the black leather trucks. I assume this is why they only come in brown and grey. I found it was best to remove the side panel trim that holds the controls so I could see better and route the straps so they won't pull or pinch any wiring. Overall it was an easy install, but it took a little time the way I did it.
  6. I have a below the bed rail Weather Guard in my 19 that I will move to my 22. It is flat black so it disappears with the bed liner. I like the fact that you can hardly tell it is there unless you look into the bed of the truck. It's not there cheaper line up. It is pretty good quality. I think I paid around $800 for it. I did have a little issue with the seals coming off. They sent me a new kit and after cleaning the surface well and reinstalling the seals, I haven't had any more issue with them.
  7. I added heavy duty springs to the front, after the truck was scheduled for the "week of" and my dealer had the same issue. They had to go thru the Ford Rep to get it added and it took a little time to add and confirm, but they were able to get it done.
  8. My SRW F350 LB has no issue at all with my 18K fifth wheel. The only way that I would go DRW is if we traveled full time. I enjoy driving the truck to much without the trailer and wouldn't want to do that with a DRW. If I ordered the DRW I would go straight to the F450.
  9. Just picked up my 22 SD on Friday, just in time for the holiday weekend. Put about 500 miles on it with considerable elevation change. I ended up going with the 3.55 and it is absolutely amazing with the 10 speed transmission. I was never happy with my 16 or 19 that had the 3.31. Granted that was with the 6-speed, which is why I wasn't sure which way to go on the 22. I am really happy I went with my gut and ordered the 3.55. The truck is an absolute rocket, but also the down hill control with the 10 speed and the exhaust brake is best. There is just so much punch and control at all speeds. My 17 and 19 are great trucks, but this truck is so much better!
  10. Truck was scheduled to arrive 9/15/21, showed up at the dealer today and should be ready for pickup this Friday! Originally ordered in April....F350 Lariat, CC, LB, 6.7, 3.55, Value Pkg, Bed liner, and fifth wheel prep. I wonder if the axle ratio has anything to do with getting picked up?
  11. Why hasn't any of the manufactures gone to an air ride system?
  12. I ordered 4/13 and 6/29. Intentionally over two months apart because I did not want to get them at the same time. I was hoping for at least a month or more to sell the current truck that I am driving before the second one arrives. As it stands now both trucks will be delivered within two weeks of each other sometime in September. Oh well, it is what it is. I'm pretty excited about the new work truck. It will be nice having a real center counsel and seat heaters. It's almost time to detail the existing truck and get it ready to sell!
  13. I have ordered two trucks, both with spray in bed liners and both have been built and shipped. One was ordered in April and one the first of July.
  14. I've been calling around to see where pricing is on new trucks and dealers are telling potential customers 90 days to order and get a truck.
  15. Yes, time creates opportunity to make changes. I added heavy duty springs to both of my builds and one of the trucks had another option dropped in the process. I pushed to confirm the changes on the springs, so they sent me the new build sheets. I noticed, because I was happily surprised with the new price, but realized something was missing. The item has just been inadvertently dropped when the order was changed. IMO if he dealer would have you sign the revised build sheet it would take some of the responsibility off them.
  16. My truck is built and shipped. It says 21 days to get to me. I assume it will be sitting somewhere, but I'm not watching, because it won't get here any quicker if I do.
  17. I sold a 2017 F350 Lariat CC with 20K miles at the end of June. The truck was spotless and the original MSRP was $74,900. I started out asking $79,800 and it took about a month and half to sale and I ending up getting $76K for it. The KBB middle private party value was right around $78K at that time. At first, I thought I sold it to low, but my dealer advised me to move the truck by July 4th and to ask $78K for it, because he was seeing that prices were coming down. He probably knew that the 2021's that had been sitting were about to ship. The KBB value has dropped to around $73,500 today so I think I sold just in time on this one. Now I am getting ready to sell a 2019 F350 STX CC with 20K miles, also spotless. The MSRP on this truck was $57,400, althought this same truck would have an MSRP of $60K today. Back in June the KBB private party value was up to $66K and is now down to $62,500. I did a search on the Ford site and there are now a lot of trucks at dealerships for sale in my area. Not like back in the day, but you can definitely find one. I put out several inquiries and of the ones that got back to me want $5K over MSRP for a XL, STX or XLT and $10K over for a lariat. Most of these trucks are 2021's, but there are 2022's available as well. My dealership is telling me that they expect the used values to drop $800 to $900 per month until the end of the year. I'm not totally convinced, but he was spot on regarding the last truck and has access to a lot more information than I do. He has also been very helpful, transparent and forth coming with the information that he is providing. My thoughts are that the 2021's the dealers received won't last that long, and the 2022's will ship more slowly to dealers since Ford is starting to focus more on retail orders than dealer inventory. Also, I believe the end of year is when businesses buy trucks to use up budgets and get the tax write off. In AZ, construction has been booming for years and Covid didn't really hurt that. I would have to assume that most construction businesses are flush with cash from work and the PPP money thrown around by the government, and they will need tax write offs towards the end of the year. So the used market will still be good, but maybe not as good as it has been. Unfortunately my $5K upgrade is now probably a $10K upgrade.
  18. I would tell them to keep in in the back and not let anyone touch it.
  19. That I would come back on here to get some more advice on 5th wheels?....if you now what I mean?
  20. Prices of trucks are coming down pretty fast...someone orders now, they will probably get hung out to dry. Also, the Xplan requires you to own the truck for 6 months. I don't know how they enforce that, but I wouldn't personally take a chance.
  21. Now days you can control it from your phone or a wireless remote and don't have to run wires or gauges inside to the dash. I was always cheap and I didn't want to install gauges in may dash so I manually filled all my previous trucks. The last truck truck I had I set up with the Bluetooth pump control and I will never do the manual valve thing again. It is so easy to fill and unload and you can verify it is maintain the proper PSI. Your spring package can make a big difference in how well the bags work and how the truck drives. My trucks that were 10K GVWR you had to max out the bags at 100PSI for a heavy load and the truck didn't ride that well. I have found that a heavier spring package with less PSI is a much better ride. The last truck that I bagged was a 11,400 GVWR and I only had to run 40 PSI with my 18K toy hauler. It rode really nice and much better with the bags.
  22. My truck with a bed liner was in production on the 9th and shipped on the 16th. It is not expected to be delivered until the 15th of September.
  23. I haven't opened them yet. Carhart makes tough, rugged stuff and I saw a set in a Toyota and they looked like good quality to me for seat covers.
  24. I ordered a pair of Carharts. They arrived last week, but the truck won't be here until middle to late September.
