  1. My trucks have arrived! I'll certainly miss the highs and lows of this forum! I feel like a lottery winner advising all of you to 'keep playing1! One day this could be you! Good luck guys. Here is a recap of my experience... Ordered F450 Platinum on May 4, 2021 Ordered F350 Platinum on May 14, 2021 Both almost fully loaded but WITHOUT Adaptive Steering (got lucky on that one; no idea at the time it was a delay causing feature) Originally scheduled for Sept 13 build. It was interesting that both vehicles were scheduled for the same day even though they weren't ordered the same day. Went "In Production' on Sept 25th. Shipped on Oct 2nd. Arrived at the dealership on Oct 11th. Picking them both up today, Oct 14th. I am keeping the F350 and selling the F450. Reach out if you're interested in buying the F450. matthewsmith@3csoftware.com 770-757-2353 cell
  2. I totally agree. I could not pay it on principle alone! But, it happens in all markets... houses in our area are selling with bidding wars taking the price well ABOVE the listing price. Center console fishing boats (a market I'm deep into) are selling at prices that baffle the mind. Of course, I own a $90,000 1972 Ford Bronco, so who am I to cast stones!! ?
  3. I am in Atlanta, GA. When I ordered my two trucks (F350 and F450) we agreed upon a selling price of Dealer Invoice +$1,000 (plus sales tax). Today dealers are able to sell them for quite a bit more than MSRP. The dealership in Dallas that offered me $5,000 over MSRP will level the front end, add larger tires with fancy wheels, tint the windows, etc... and ask $120k or more. Check out this link: https://www.lewisvilleautoplex.com/exotic-used/Ford/2021-Ford-Super+Duty+F-450+DRW-458ed0070a0e09a90d190c0185d3f213.htm I've also seen dealers simply adding a "Market Adjustment" adder of $15,000 or more (see pic)... It seems crazy, but I guess there are folks that will pay a higher price just to get it... It's certainly happened with other vehicles (Porche, Vette, etc...) As for your question about why my dealer would "sell me a truck and then buy it back"... I assume that the Dealer Invoice +$1,000 deal that I have on my F350 (I'm keeping that one) allows them to make some profit. They could lower that price a bit more and just have more cost in the F450. They wouldn't technically sell it to me and buy it back; they would instead give me a larger discount on my F350 and just have a higher cost base in the F450. Notice that the $15,000 Market Adjustment is for a Lariat F250 with the 7.3 gas burner! Imagine what they'd ask for a Plati Diesel!
  4. I am definitely looking to make a profit on it. Two dealers have offered me $5,000 over MSRP. But, the dealer that I ordered it from is in the best position to take it from me by applying a larger discount to the F350 I ordered at the same time. Both trucks are scheduled to arrive the same week.
  5. Correct, I did not add Adaptive Steering on the 450. To be honest, it was a miss; I intended to order almost every option I could. But, in hindsight maybe it was lucky I did not. It seems to be the cause of delays.
  6. So, barring a train crash or other natural disaster it looks like my F450 Platinum will have taken just over 6 months from order date to delivery. I ordered almost every option including bed-liner and it seemed to roll right through. I also ordered an F350 Tremor fully loaded on the same day and it is set to deliver the same week as the F450. So, all in all I will be happy with the timeline... of course, I haven't seen them yet... Related - the F450 with pics below will be for sale if anyone is interested. I ordered both with the intention of keeping one and not knowing which one might not ever show up!
  7. Is there any way to see where the truck is while it is “Shipping”? Can I track the train, truck, etc?
  8. I ordered two Super Duty's some months ago and both are "Shipped" with delivery date of Oct 17th. I am most likely going to keep the F350 Tremor and sell the F450 Platinum Dually. Anyone interested? I'm in the Atlanta, Ga area.
  9. I received great news today as well... My F350 Platinum Tremor and my F450 Platinum were both issued VINs and scheduled for build week of Sept 13th! I ordered both May 14th. I was so focused on getting it scheduled I now need to go back and read up on how long it's taking from build date to delivery! I'm sure it'll be a while, but glad to be at the next step!
  10. I don't know if you are talking about 2021 vs 2022, but if so... I see a higher MSRP on the 2022 orders I've placed as compared to what I see on the Ford website if I "Build & Price" the same exact truck and features. It's around $3k higher for the 2022 model. I have several test build sheets that I can share to show how the 2022's are pricing now. Here's one example of a F350 Platinum Tremor with several options including the winch.
  11. Does anyone know when the Ford website will begin showing the 2022 models and letting us build / price them?
  12. I also ordered an F350 Tremor in the Platinum package. If your trim package is the same would you mind sharing the price? And where you are located? I paid $86,148 plus taxes. It was "Invoice" plus $1,000. I'm in the Atlanta, GA area. MSRP on mine was $90,320. I'm just curious to see how other dealers are pricing.
  13. My local dealer will let me order a 350 Platinum Tremor at $1,000 over "Invoice". He shows me the order screen that has MSRP in one column and Invoice in another column. This seems like a good price for a popular truck. And, this dealer only requires $500 down to place the order. Other dealers that can't meet this price claim that my dealer may not have the 'allocations', and thus, I may not get my truck. Is this true? These other dealers also want $2,500-$3,000 down to place an order. I thought all Retail Orders got placed.
  14. I sat with my dealer today and tried to order an F350 Platinum Tremor with Warn Winch. But, when we entered the Tremor code 17Y and the winch code 15W we got an error message. The message simply said “Invalid Winch” and it would not give pricing view. I saw that someone on here ordered same options on a Lariat, but I’ve not seen on Platinum. All the literature seems to support what I want, but I saw it get rejected in the system myself. Any ideas on what we’re doing wrong?
