  1. Good afternoon everyone. Trying to decide my next move. In between going with a 295/65/20 or a 35/12.50/20 main thing I’m trying to find out is if anyone has had both. Just trying to maximize efficiency and road noise. May be a dumb question but I’m sure someone out there has had both sizes and just curious what the mpg difference was. Tires will go on a stock wheel. I’m in between the Nitto Recon in 295 and the Falken Wildpeak in 35/12.50 Thanks for the help!

I took mine in on Nov 1 and they wanted me to leave it.  It's my only vehicle so I couldn't.  I have still not been called to bring it in.  I've driven it 3100 miles since first hearing the noise and it hasn't been better or worse, so who knows.

Same I have over 4K miles now and it’s still there no better or worse. Wish ford would get working on this issue and come up with a solution. There’s more and more trucks with the issue coming to light.

  3. So I am fortunate enough to have this annoying grind like noise on a down shift from 4-3 and also 5-4. Only does it when trans is up to temp (150 or more) there’s another truck at my dealer with the same issue. And I have made contact with some other guys that have the exact noise as well. Just want to see if anyone else has this issue and if it was fixed. My truck has 2500 miles. Or maybe if we have any ford engineers on here? Little help will be much appreciated!

  4. I think it’s worth it for sure. I played with my build and decided the best/biggest bang for the buck is the black appearance package. Gives you 20” wheels, AT tires, spray in bed liner, led tail lights, led bed lights, and running boards. Plus the black badges. I priced out after market ones and good ones are just under 3k. Rather get OEM and all the add ons for just a little more. I paired that with the lariat value vs ultimate. Only difference was push to start and tailgate step. Both of which I can live without for another almost 4K. My .02

I received what I paid for my 2016 F-350 DRW 6.7, which is now 6 yrs old, but is low miles. I have known our Sales Manager for 15 to 20 years, so he provided about $8,000 below MSRP, on a 22 F-450 KR. In these difficult times, it pays to have developed a relationaship with a Sales Manager and even follow him from 1 dealership to a new one.

When I pick up the truck, I will not purchase the extended warranty. Might take out the service plan again, depending on the cost, just for the convenience.

That’s a great deal. One thing for people to note is that the higher trim level you get the bigger the margin which in turn can equal a bigger discount when it comes to getting invoice pricing. For example a Lariat May have a 4K difference between MSRP and invoice. Where a KR or Platinum May have over 6k. Some people tend to think that the invoice margins are the same across the board.

And I agree with you on establishing a relationship. I have bought multiple trucks from my dealership and send everyone I know there and they treat everyone fair. Some of my friends have even tried to shop the price they’re given and can’t beat it. So that’s a plus.

Ive seen some dealerships placing a $5k ADM on "customer cancelled" custom orders. And used trucks going for upwards of 10k over new MSRP.

My question is: with this shortage, has anyone been getting invoice pricing, or anything below MSRP? Would you purchase the extended 8yr/125k warranty and service contract up front or wait for a "Ford" offer?

My order is scheduled 10/18 build, and knowing that the truck is coming home with me, have any of you been able to negotiate those prices at all?

    Thanks for the info.

I got my truck for about $250 over invoice price. So yes there are SOME dealers that are still giving deals but MANY are not and MSRP or more seems to be the new norm.

On 8/12 my truck was scheduled to a build week of 9/27. Then 10/18. Then 10/4. I was worried it would change again but was happy to see it move to "in production" a few hours ago. A few minutes ago the window sticker became available, too. I have the feeling tracking it once it ships is going to be difficult since my dealer hasn't pulled a VVR since I placed the order in early July and I think that's the only place you can get the rail car information from.

Go to the vehicle tracking thread on here and give him your VIN and order number. I would wait for a couple days once it has shipped to make sure that it’s on a rail car. He will only give you updates once a week! Good luck.

I'm with you. Never owned a ford before. And chip shortage or material shortage or not. Why are current orders with the same packages getting built before older orders? What happened to first in first out? If they are short on materials then when you have some in build the next in line not the most recent ordered.

I’m starting to think that some people with heavy delays with simple builds is coming down how dealers are inputting the orders. Retail sales vs other sale methods.

I currently have a Ram. I went with Ford because I can’t order a Ram with the discount similar to the x plan because they aren’t selling 2022 models yet. Long story. They are but until they are on their website they can’t order one with the discount. Yes I’d be mad if I ordered in March. Honestly if I ordered in March I’d probably move on. My dealership has 1k from me abs is basically like “well. It’s not being built yet”

big question. Is there any way that my truck will be built before 2022 at this point? Is that even a possibility. I kinda want my money back.

    Yes there is a way.

Fl. Good luck to you. The date at the bottom of the window sticker gets updated at intervals. Not sure what this signifies. Now at 9/25/21.

Same here. I’m in the Miami area. Just got an update that it was passing through Ft Lauderdale rail yard yesterday. I’m assuming it’s Miami already. Going to get a hold of my dealer and have them pick that sucker up ASAP!

Looking to crowd source a bit and hear of your experiences. I received a PCO in the mail after ordering that will expire before my truck is built. Dealer is saying nothing to be done aside from asking Ford for an exception at time of delivery. I'd rather not wait to be told I should've done something now. Anyone able to speak from experience? Thanks!

My dealer added mine already scheduled to expire 10/4
