Bronco and Bronco Sport World Premier July 13th!!
RGIll replied to silvrsvt's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
I have always been a fan of the green and am usually disappointed in how it does not make it to many of the vehicles. Also I wished that this year 2022 they had come out with an SE color for the Bronco Sports or at least a unique color only for the Badlands version -
EV Transition-Can Dealers handle it?
RGIll replied to CKNSLS's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Agree. Most dealerships also make their bread and butter from service and parts more than sales so that might hurt them if EVs need less attention. But when they do it is costly. The downside for dealers which I can see in the future is just the use of kiosks if you go in to order and that is if you even have to order at the dealer (ie Tesla only does online order) t sales individuals are going to disappear and instead you will have more customer service as in people that familiarize owners with all the features of their new cars when they arrive and potentially one or two folks that run test drives. But I think sales folks will one day be gone -

Agree. They probably are going to use them mostly for commuting in which case they will not reach the 300 mile or so limit during use. Odd, why is it all the Teslas I see are white. It is like the most popular color. -
Order T133 Dealer: F71170 It has been in production since 12/4 with ECUs live on 12/10 but have not received anything since from Ford to know if it has been built or shipped.

I really like the 2023 Vette in looking at everything. It is a far cry from some of the older designs that were dated. Not sure about a V8 though. I think with current technology and turbos there is a way to get what you need out of a V6. But that is IMHO.

GM removes heated seats and steering wheels for 2022
RGIll replied to jasonj80's topic in Competing Products
Removing these was a crazy stupid move on the part of the manufacturer. Heated seats are almost a requirement now for most drivers. There are many other features they could have dropped without affecting the heated seats. I was very happy when ordering our BS to see that the heated seats and steering wheel were still available. -
Toyota makes Key Fobs into subscription.
RGIll replied to blazerdude20's topic in Competing Products
I am not that big a user of remote start so it does not bother me much if they move to a subscription with that. As long as it locks and unlocks the car, that is really all I need. I am a simple folk. -

The only thing that make me hesitant about an EV is the lack of high end charging stations around the nation. Tesla has some good ones, but others can take 30-45 minutes to charge and if you are traveling across country you are looking at adding 4 hours or so to your trip time just charging along the way. Some stations are expensive enough it is cheaper to use gas. Add on the home charging station you would need if you dont want it to take forever on your house elec. -
Interesting. I was quite pleased with what came out about the Bronco Sport. For all the recalls, the safety information has been outstanding which makes me feel good about putting my family in the vehicle.

Ford moves to end chip shortage
RGIll replied to twintornados's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
China apparently did the opposite and stockpiled chips during the pandemic when they were cheap. Good move on their part. The other thing that US manufacturers have working against them is that their chips are old in technology and they have not moved forward, similar to Tesla, etc. Chip companies do not want to make the old style chips anymore because they are not up to date or make $$. At some point we will have to see manufactuers change and come forward in. Time with chips. -
Dealerships should not be “bothered” when you request an update. You are going to be paying them good $$ for your vehicle and it does not take that much time to check the visibility report. If the dealer is close to you, go in and request it. It is hard to ignore someone standing there.

It is a global economy..period. A car assembled in the US may have parts acquisitions that occur from many companies globally and then assembled in the US. It is truly hard to find any company where the entire vehicle is parted and assembled in the US. Tesla is one that I can think of.

Bronco sport sun roof and oem mud flaps and or wheel opening flares
RGIll replied to randyhorn's topic in Bronco Sport Forum
Make sure you go into your dealership to work through the order process. Correct that the premium package is required for the sunroof to be orders, but that should not affect the fender flares. Now the mud flaps do interfere apparently with the installation of the fender flares so that would be the only stopping issue. -
Rare occurrence where I live. Have only seen one or two and they are soft top 4 door. The Bronco Sports are getting more numerous after dealerships received their stock orders for the end of the year
