  1. I sold my '99 a couple of month ago to get a '03 Cobra. My only mods so far are a FR500 catback, twin 65mm TB and ported elbow. Other mods are waiting for the installation.
  2. When you go to this side: http://www.ddperformance.com/images/46viper1.jpg http://www.afrashteh.com/tranny_pics/senso...d_locations.jpg you'll see the "lock pin" next to the shifter handle. It is secured by only one screw. I would try to remove the screw, pull out the lock pin and see if your able to shift into reverse. If you can, see if the lock pin got stuck and if it's get triggered with 12 Volt. I do have a separate switch to trigger the lock pin, but because yours is a stock tranny, it should be triggered automatically when the car stands still or/and when you hit the brakes. (But I'm not sure about the brake.) If you still can't shift into reverse, you got a problem. Might be a bend shift fork.
  3. What's about the reverse lock pin, does your tranny have one? My T56 came with a lock pin which gets activated by pressing the brake pedal. Sometimes when cold, the lock pin got stuck. If yours is activated by speed, check if it gets power when you stand still and see if it works. Mine is on the driver side of the tranny and easy (ok, you have to crawl underneath the car) to remove.
  4. I’m still here and my Cobra is still running strong on the Autobahn. Actually it’s running stronger than ever before after installing a new TB last week. Right now I’m thinking about buying a ’04 or saving the money for a Shelby. It’s just hard to find a nice ’04 Cobra convertible for a decent price when you’re sitting in Germany.
  5. Does anyone know where I can find (borrow or buy)an upper intake lid for porting? I've got a new TB and need to port my Intake, but that'll need time and my car is a daily driver, so it would be great to get a spare intake lid.
  6. You sure it's coming from the eingine? When I hear, it "sounds like marbles in a tin can" I think about the Throw out bearing. Do you have any metal on the oil drain plug? I would get another opinion first, maybe from a transmission shop first.
  7. Is Trans-man still on this forum?
  8. It's coming from the transmission. This is the explanation for the rattle I got from a guy on another forum (LS1): "All the 6-speed cars have this rattle. It is not a defective part or a malfunction. The tolerances on the main shaft are kept loose in order to handle the enormous torque loads generated by the engine. When you push the clutch pedal in, the input shaft stops turning so the noise goes away."
  9. The problem is. I do live in Germany and there is no dealer and no service for the Mustang. I've got The T56 from D&D for my '99 Cobra.
  10. I’ve got a T56 (Cobra) over a year ago, the tranny runs still fine, but it makes lot of noise. It made this noise right from the beginning, it got better after a the break in period, but it’s still there and annoying. It’s a rattling sound at high rpm’s and when accelerating in high gear between 1k – 2k rpm. The noise is almost gone when the tranny is cold and gets worse when the tranny heats up. I plan on changing the throw out bearing to see if it helps, but I doubt it. I’m using synchromesh oil, should I try switching to different oil or is there an additive which would help? I’ve heard that the Ford friction modifier helps reducing the noise, but I’m not sure if it’s save to try. What do you guys think, what can I do?
