  1. Why was the catch phrase, "Global Warming" changed to "Climate Change"? Was it done so you really couldn't disagree that the climate changes? Hasn't the earth's climate changed many times over millions of years, even when there weren't factories and SUV's? In the 70's a cover of Time magazine said we were heading into another ice age. In 2000 scientists declared that the sea levels were going rise drastically and that numerous coastal cities were going to disappear by 2012. I don't recall which cities have disappeared? Have to wonder why some of loudest voices who scream about the melting of the polar ice caps and the dangers to coastal communities by the rising tides have purchased multi million dollar homes on the coasts, not in the mountains to be safe from the coming floods, but in places they say are going to flood in 7years. Also, I believe NASA's own documentation shows that the average temperature has risen by only 1.5 degrees F. How much did the temperature rise on earth to dry the water that covered the Grand Canyon? I don't believe we had factories or SUV's back then either. Could it be that the earth changes position and that causes the fluctuations in temperature and nothing we do can stop it? Clean air and water is a wonderful goal, but the U.S. can become carbon neutral and it wouldn't have any impact on the earth if India, China and Russia, among others don't become carbon neutral as well. We need to be smart in how we approach reducing carbon emissions, I do not want to end up like Sri Lanka. Anyway, more trees are good, just clean up the forests so when fires start they don't have so much fuel to burn.
  2. When I picked up my truck on 14 June, I had to sign the form mentioned in this post.
  3. Took a trip from Leavenworth, KS to Cedar Falls, IA a month ago in my 2019 F450 (26,000 mile on the odometer), calm weather running at 69mph and got the best fuel mileage that I had ever gotten in my 450, 16.6mpg. Traded in my 450 and picked up my new 22 F350 dually with 3.55 gearing and took made that same trip last week and got 19.3mpg (52 miles on the odometer).
  4. I watched the latest TFLTruck video where the compared the Lightning towing a 6,000lb trailer and a GMC 1500 gasser pulling the exact same trailer. The Lightning went 86 miles before it was down to 19% charge and had to find a charging station. It took 45 minutes to charge to almost 90%. That would make for a long, long camping trip.
  5. Finally got the keys. F350 6.7 Lariat w/ Ultimate pkg, LEDs. Ordered 10/27 picked up 6/14.
  6. This past Friday I completed all the paperwork to finalize the purchase of my new F350 and I was taken aback by a policy ( I guess I can call it that) that is in place when you remove items from your order (AS, 5WP). I ordered a F350 Lariat Ultimate package LED's and a dually, my order also included AS and 5WP, my agreed upon sales price was $77,100. After my order, at the recommendation of the GM at my dealer, I dropped AS ($910) and 5WP ($455) from my order. When I went in to finalize my purchase, my salesman brought out the contract and I see the sales price is still $77,100. I then ask him, "shouldn't the sales price be less as I dropped AS and 5WP from my order but I see that I am still getting charged for it?" The sales manager calls the Ford rep and I am giving a $127.00 discount from Ford. I asked the sales manager that my sales price includes $1,365 for options that I didn't get and Ford is only giving me $127.00 credit? He laughed and said that is Ford's doing not his. I said, so basically, Ford is still charging me $1,238 for nothing. So if my original order had not included AS and 5WP, my truck would have cost $1,365 less, but because I ordered those options and Ford, at the time, couldn't produce it that way so I remove those items from my order. Yet Ford still makes money on those items even though they provide nothing to the customer. What a racket these automakers have going on. BTW, I had to purchase the 5WP kit for 720.00 and pay to have it installed for 500.00 even though there is a line item in my invoice for the factory 5WP kit that I am still paying for.
  7. Ordered 10/27/21 - 6.7 CC DRW Lariat Star White Order Confirmed - 10/27/21 January 22 - Removed 5WP and AS Scheduled for build - 3/28/22 (it did change a few times) Built - 4/2/22 Received shipped email 4/5 Truck at dealer 6/6/22 Finally! Now getting my hitch prep kit and spray-in bed liner installed.
  8. My truck was built on 4/2, received the shipped email 4/5, sat in Shelbyville, KY on a rail hold with an expected delivery date of 5/24 - 5/30 (it changed many times), however, I haven't received any other delayed delivery emails since the 5/24 - 5/30 notice and my truck is not at the dealer yet either. Frustrating indeed.
  9. I have my loan already from Navy Fed at 2.29% that is valid for 90 days, if my truck doesn't arrive before June 17th I will have to go back and get a new loan with the higher rates .
  10. The story and photos are fantastic, thank you for sharing. I remember living in the Los Angeles area in the 70's and I would see commercials for Ice Capades. This brought back some memories for sure.
  11. What has been really eye opening for me is just how fragile the infrastructures are for businesses in America. I am no expert but for 57 years the trains have been running just fine, now all of a sudden they lack rail cars or people to move freight and vehicles. Are they being asked to ship more vehicles now than before Covid or has Covid become the "cover" for all of their current failures? All we hear for US to be flexible, how about Ford follow that advice as well, be flexible and let customers pick-up their vehicles at the factory or come up with a solution to this mess. Stop blaming and start fixing! If they had to reduce the sale price of their vehicle by a $1,000 bucks for every week that they sit at the rail yards we would all have our vehicles as soon as they are built. But since there isn't any negative impact to Ford they won't change a thing. Rant over, frustration continues.
  12. Thank you Ice for posting this, my dealer said my delay was detailed as a "rail carrier" delay.
  13. Similar situation, mine was built 4/2 and on 4/5 an said it was shipped and headed to my dealer. I have received 3 delay emails and now scheduled for 24 - 30 May. It has been sitting in Shelbyville this whole time and hasn't moved.
  14. I spoke with them yesterday, they have been very responsive. They indicated that the VVR is showing in transit delay rail carrier in Shelbyville Kentucky and this is exactly why I wrote my post. What does waiting on a rail carrier have to do with ensuring my complete satisfaction so we will require more time? Just say it's waiting to be loaded on a rail car.
  15. Just need to vent for a moment...I am a patient man and completely understand the state of the world right now, however, Ford, IMHO., could do a much better job of being concise and transparent and then I feel people would be a little more understanding to their situation. Let me explain what I mean. On 4/5 I received an email from Ford stating that my truck was built and had an expected arrival date at my dealer of 4/17 through 4/23. Then on 4/16 I get the generic email stating, "To ensure my complete satisfaction, we will require additional time before your truck is delivered to my dealer." I have since received this email 4 more time with the last one coming last night pushing the delivery back to 24 to 30 May. My issues are with the "Built" email and the "To ensure your satisfaction..." email. Specifically, Ford tells me my truck is built but then the delay email seems to suggest otherwise. Just be upfront about the actual status of our trucks, is it built or do you need more time to complete the truck, i.e., waiting on chips or a lack of rail cars. If it's waiting on chips then it was never actually "built", just say that. Be upfront and transparent, that shouldn't be a lot to ask. Ok, rant over. I will sit back and patiently continue to wait. Thank you!
