  2. Get the bed liner sprayed before sealing the holes and use a black silicone based sealant around the 5th prep stubs. It was recommended to me that a vent tube be installed between the cab vent and the box header panel. Having the cabin fan on medium or higher, keeps the bed pressurized and stops the majority of the dust. I did not do this option as I often have my bed open and used for truck things. For my truck use, dust is par for the course.
  3. I would be skeptical too that it may have been the dealer itself but back in December, I was present for a delivery of trucks by the haulage company. Hot-Shot drivers delivered Five trucks and proceeded to hop in a rental mini-van and head back to the railyard. This is also when I learned that the next city near me has taken of delivery of trucks with significantly more highway miles than I had. The dealers collectively have called Ford and communicated their displeasure with the situation. I am not privy to further details on this, and I will be voicing my concerns to ford once it comes time to take delivery of the truck.
  4. @ice-capades - Bringing this back from earlier in the thread... Well, I went to have a look at my F450 that arrived last week. It has 73mi on the ODO. My dealer confirmed that the Ford contracted haulage/carrier company drove the truck from the rail yard 66mi to the dealer. It did not arrive on a truck. The driver also programmed their phone and sirrus favorites for the ride too! The dealer has apologized profusely for this but what are they (or I) going to do? They've already asked for the vehicles not to be driven but, here we are. We now have a truck that is worth over $100k on paper, waited 11mos & 17d for (and counting) and before any PDI has taken place, its been taken out of transport mode by the contractor and driven with unknown care and conduct to the dealer and I'm not even the first to take it out on the highway. While it's "only 66mi" and we will have to believe that care was taken in driving the vehicle, its just somewhat disappointing to wait so long for the first custom ordered vehicle we have ever bought to have been delivered in a manner that could have gone far worse. I know you didn't buy my claim, and this may not be what is supposed to happen, it is happening. The sad part is, I'm not alone here and in some ways lucky as we have about half the mileage as others who are potentially further away (150mi +) at outlying dealerships. Anyway, that's my update from way-back in December!
  5. 331 days and counting... But, we hit a milestone yesterday! Our truck finally left FTP and is en-route. ETA is May 17th. We will soon see what the final count will be! Such a rollercoaster of emotions over the past many months but excitement is starting build again. Can't wait to see it. 7. Hello! Can I get an update please? I think it missed the date! 1FT8W4DT2NEE28028 Thank you!
  8. On our 2015 2500 GMC, we have a headache rack and box rails with a bak-flip G2 CF hard folding on a 6.5' box. No mods necessary. The rack and rails go around the seals for the cover. Don't have my F450 yet to try the same, but the rail caps are wider and anticipate it to be much the same scenario.
  9. I would like to know more about why you say it won't tow well with those tires. I tow all the time. My truck has heavy trailers hitched more often than riding empty. I run aggressive tires while towing, and run a 17" rim / 35" tall M&S tire on my current truck, and tow in all seasons and weather conditions. I'll take the "aggressive" tire over a highway slick any day! Just crank up the pressures for towing.
  10. Thanks for the clarification! ? ...and the schedule too!
  11. Hello! I have a serial number that populated! Are you able to tell me anything more? Order #: R017 22 F450 w/6.7 Atlas Blue Body W4D 1FT8W4DT2NEE28028 Thanks!

  13. Yes. It is called a "smart isolator". They are inexpensive and are designed to do exactly that. Simple install too. The diagram shown above, any load on either battery will drain both. If the intent is to use one battery for (insert accessory or attachment here) only while off, and add extra umph for starts, then a proper isolator is the only real way to do it, dual alternators or not.
  14. Not always the case! Surge loads can kill alternators, even on "as-configured" or OEM anticipated loads. In my experience, this is simply an additional heavy cable as some trucks even charge from the same terminal. Certain OEM packages may have the second battery tied to a specific draw (IE: Snow Plow prep, camper prep, ect). That is just as simple, with only an additional wire or two needed. Camper use is a very common example of why you would want to install a second battery where one may not exist currently.
