  1. I did an oil change to my 7.3 at 1,500 miles. Made me feel good.
  2. Insurance (of any kind) is never worth it ... until it is needed. Having said that, I have recent experience with selling two vehicles of different brands on which I had the factory sponsored extended service contract. One vehicle the standard warranty had expired, the other vehicle still had the standard warranty in effect. Both vehicles were sold to auto dealerships, one an outright sale the other a trade-in. Neither dealership cared about dealing with the service plan. This may be because each service plan appeared to only be transferable to one subsequent purchaser. For the dealership to successfully accomplish such a re-transfer to their purchaser may have been more than they wanted to deal with, if it could even be done. Neither dealership ever stated why they didn't want to take the plan. It appeared to be of no value to them. I wound up getting pro-rata refunds on both of them as they had never been used. My take ... selling to an individual and transferring a plan may yield benefits, selling/trading to a dealership will not. And read the contract for transfer terms.
  3. I feel your pain Toolman. While I can't help much with what-to-do, the what-not-to-do is easy, though I am sure you already know. Never clean windows in the heat. Once something dries on the window, it is over. If you use a cloth that was laundered and it was put in the dryer with fabric softener, the results will never be good. FWIW, my best results have come with homemade cleaner - water, isopropyl alcohol, vinegar and a drop of Dawn liquid. Proportions escape me at the moment but the recipes can be on the intertubes.
  4. Trying to find SSM-50718 which supposedly deals with the tendency of F-205's to have a "pull" to one side during heavy braking. The service department quoted it to me as evidence that such events are "normal" but failed to provide a copy as stated they would in the repair order. See attached. Personally, I see it as dangerous.
  5. 2022 F250 7.3L 4.30 gears getting 13 mpg highway at 75+/- mph and 15 mpg at 60 +/- mph. Afraid to look at stop and go in-town numbers. No towing numbers yet.
  6. Affected vehicles: select 2020-2021 Ford F-150 models produced from August 1st, 2020, to August 16th, 2021 and 2020-2022 Ford Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 vehicles built from August 1st, 2020, to October 20th, 2021. https://fordauthority.com/2022/04/2020-2022-ford-f-series-trucks-recalled-over-defective-wiper-arms/
  7. Has anybody seen the official recall to see what trucks are affected? Late 12/21 build here with no recall found.
  8. My impression was that if your order was made under the COVP (Customer Order Verification Program, I believe) it would be invoiced to the dealer at the price in effect when the order was placed and not at an increased price. If that is correct, there should be no higher upfront price to need reimbursement for.
  9. 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty Front Receiver Hitch - EcoHitch No affiliation.
  10. Check out some YouTube videos. Folks are doing it with nominal 37's but it seems like a real chore.
  11. " A blockade on the road leading to the Ambassador Bridge Canada-U.S. border crossing in Windsor, Ont. remains in place for the third straight day. ..." https://windsor.ctvnews.ca/day-3-windsor-blockade-impacts-canada-us-border-traffic-1.5774189
  12. While no specific mention of the 7.3L in the article, I just read this: "... This blockade is also causing problems for Ford engine production, as its Windsor-based facilities are idle today, though Unifor Local 200 President John D’Agnolo told Automotive News that the plants will be back up on Thursday. ..." here: https://fordauthority.com/2022/02/ford-engine-production-impacted-by-ambassador-bridge-blockade/
