  1. RustyT22 - nice truck!! Wait till you drive it! Best Truck I’ve ever owned and I’ve had a few. Check paint close - I found two spots on mine where it bubbled - easy fix and dealers will jump on it if caught early. Safe travels
  2. F250less - hey don’t cancel - I got lucky and bought one that another guy gave up on (I ordered December 1st and was pending a VIN) and scored a 6.7 F250 platinum Tremor, loaded with everything but the 5th wheel prep. I love this truck and chopping at the bit for the weather to get better to pull my trailer. Fuel is 16 to 17 city and over 21 highway. That 6.7 picks up and goes. The AS handles like a champ, making low speed maneuvers a breeze. The 12” info screen is quick and makes for easy use of the many apps. In fact, I like it so much it even takes the bite out of dealer turning down my x plan. So, hang in there - it’s well worth the wait!
  3. Heads up folks - check your paint carefully!! On my new 2022 6.7 Platinum Tremor, while topping off fuel I noticed paint bubbling up on leading edge of drivers side of the bed. I used to do coatings inspections in Navy (subs) and I figure it’s a combination of oil on substrate and maybe mixing issue? Will definitely lead to paint failure (850 miles on it so far). I took it in to have mud guards and flaps yesterday and reported the issue - the tech agreed it’s not good and I’ll be taking it in to body shop after weather breaks and I can wax it - may see more. My truck rolled off the line February 17th (I had a Lariat on order 12/1 and pending VIN and went to dealership to check status and discovered some guy ordered this truck and passed because he’d bought another and I pulled the trigger). Im passing this on because of the backlog issues they may have some quality control issues - Don’t Worry - they told me at dealership that the bumper to bumper covers all, just catch it early FYI - awesome truck - had more than I asked for and worth every cent I paid for it - these trucks beat the competition hands down and worth the wait drama.
  4. Well Howdy, looks like I may have struck a nerve and I’d bet this string could go on forever - so you can have the last word, after this…tell that to the customers speaking out on media forum’s. I’m not making this up and with covid marketing customers are taking notice to little things like admin fees and plans not honored. Now, ford corp. may not have say over final MSRP or Ford Plan policy - but Ford owns the trademark. And buddy that’s what we customers remember. So peeing down my back and telling me it’s raining is not working. Safe Travels and adios
  5. Why have an x plan then? You should see the horrible stories on SD special orders forum about dealers - it is not good! And - on my deal, the dealer allowed x plan on my initial order but refused it on the truck sitting in the lot “ because the other guy ordered it?” Not trying to be crude here - just bringing attention to something that looks foul.
  6. Why does Ford advertise an X Plan when some dealers won’t accept it? I ordered a 2022 F250 lariat and was pending a vin - I cam back to town and went to the dealership to check status and discovered a 2022 F250 Platinum on the lot. I asked about it, “this other guy ordered it and ended up getting another truck.” I told them I’d take it and would use the same x plan pin from the initial order. Long story short, I was not allowed to use my x plan and paid full price - I figure over $5k, not to mention a low ball trade on a 2014 Black Ops Tuscany in collectors condition for $26.5k Ford makes the trucks, sells them to dealer and allows dealer to represent Ford - then gouges customers! Just get rid of the x plan If Ford does not stand behind their word.
  7. Commenting on how dealerships are gouging customers - I definitely got burned on this 2022, no two ways around it. And it’s wrong. Today I went down to the same dealership to pick up fuel additive for those low northern temps (6.7) and I’m going by the book. While there I chatted with employees I’ve known since 2004, having my trucks and cars serviced there (2 F250’s and 2 mustang’s). While there I was notified by the front office that my temp title and registration came in and had me sign for them. During the process, they thanked me for the business and their job. Got to say here, I’m not happy with $5k over invoice, not letting me use my x plan, shorting me $2.5k on trade - but, in some weird way I feel better knowing the folks behind the service counters are keeping their jobs. Back when I had left the service and was landing on my feet after 26 years, those service folks saved me money on repairs (went there for second opinion on big $ repair and discovered it was only half as much as the other dealership quoted and they set me up on a Ford credit program to pay the repair). Since then they have always provided total quality care since 2004. So there, I may be shell shocked but I feel a little better and I love this 2022 F250 6.7 Platinum Tremor. They definitely know how to make trucks.
  8. Sorry if I goof this reply to a question on difference between 7.3 and 6.7. First, I am no expert on the diesel and have been a gazer up till Feb 8th. I bought a 2022 F250 Platinum Tremor with everything but 5th wheel prep. So far the 6.7 is quick and powerful. I’m still in break in, 300 miles in, and already getting over 16 mpg (per dash info and 584 mpg shows for 38 gal fill up) for misty city driving. The handling of this truck reminds me of a cross between the 2014 Black Ops Silverado (36” wheels and 6” Tuscany lift) and F250 6.2 XLT (camper package used to RV) I used as trades. The diesel is more maintenance with TLC for fuel due to northern climate. I plan on getting my tow on soon as this beast in broke in. Oh, one thing I did like about the 7.3 is how open the engine compartment is - not tight as the 6.7, which will be handy as the truck ages and repairs kick in. hope that helps and that this is seen by the guy with question
  9. I ordered a 2022 6.7 Lariat F250 on 1 December and to date only had confirmation of the order. I went down to the dealership to check the status (returned from a 30 day trip out of state and getting antsy). They informed me it may end up being a 2023 by the time all is said and done (I wish the dealership had been more knowledgeable on how commodities slowed the builds). While there I noticed an F250 platinum in tremor package and inquired about it. Seems a guy ordered it and bought another truck during the wait. Long story short, I bought it! Spent more than planned and ended up with options I’d passed up on my original build. I am totally impressed and love this truck! It handles in between my trades 2014 Silverado Black Ops (Tuscany out of Fort Worth) and my RV Tow vehicle (2016 F250 6.2 XLT). The power of the 6.7 is impressive (still in break in - and learning diesel operation so I’m in baby step mode right now). I have discovered that many of the negative posts on fuel, AS, handling in the tight are not as common or as bad they led out to be. I get fuel at the truck stop, I ask if it’s been treated for gelling (advice from over the road trucker - I’m in a cold weather state) and will use recommend Ford additives when needed (owners manual - dealership parts - protects warranty). That’s the good news - the bad is that for all the cool stuff which came with this truck, I paid $5000 over invoice because dealer would not let me use X plan on the other guys order (and I did remind them that they would probably keep my order open and sell over invoice - didn’t work). So I took a hit for the bird in hand. However, I will remember how greedy they are and will give some free advertising. Sales is no bueno but the trucks are the best. So hang tough and in the end it is worth the wait and the $. I want to thank the folks that help us out by the service provided in these posts - been Super Duty!
  10. I ordered a 22 f 250 6.7 PS lariat ultimate with bed liner, cover, 20” wheels, 5th wheel prep, and safe. I passed on AS. The order went out on 1 December with 16.5k down for my new truck. The confirmation came back on 14 December. I was loosing heart with the process and almost pulled the trigger on a Ram 2500 loaded - problem was it wasn’t a ford and I’d regret it. So I’m all in and playing the waiting game. 22 SD with a limited production due to parts shortage along with possible design changes behind the curtain for 23’s. I’ll keep everything as ordered and wait. Who knows, it may be worth rolling in the barn and covering instead of trading off for the next truck. As for price increases, hmm - cash down and ordered before increase kicked in, and informed on fords price increase policy (thank you Ice), I’m not concerned. So, if your order is in and confirmed hang tough. From what read and hear, 2022 is worth every day of the wait.
  11. Ice-capades nailed it - the dealer needs to look at a before and after of the 5th wheel prep under the rack. I’ll risk going a step farther and suggest factory spray in liners are the way to go as well, if for no other reason you’ll get the oval on the front of the trucks bed.
  12. I came close to pulling the trigger on a Ram cumins, they were giving better on trade and the truck was on the lot. I couldn’t do it - I’ve been running Ford trucks and mustang’s long enough to know I’d regret it. So I’m for the wait. I ordered a grey 250 Lariat, UTT, 5th wheel prep, liner, folding bed cover, and passed on AS. I ordered on 3 December and received confirmation email on 14 December. So this is going to be a long wait.
  13. I placed an order in early December that really didn’t take till I went to the dealer and inquired why no confirmation email - and I can’t get a VIN 4 weeks later. I also traded my truck in at thousands less than it would be later sold at, putting 16.5k down on this special order. As of today, it is looking like interest rates are getting ready to go up each quarter and I’m considering RAM 2500 now. They have a loaded option on lot at current rates - it would be nice if Ford would give us an incentive for being loyal - or else I may not be the only one to jump ship - posting this to see what feed back, if any, I’ll get??
  14. I went into a dearlership on December 3d or 4th and placed a special order - after inquiring about no confirmation email the order was confirmed on December 14th. Now I am concerned with interest rates going up on a $75k truck and no body can even say when I’ll get a VIN. Rates are going to pop up each qtr over the next year. Right now it’s a pretty good deal at under 3% but in April or June not such a tempting deal at 4.5 or better. I can get a 2500 Ram with all the bells and whistles for less than the F250 Lariat at the current interest rates. Dodge did a voluntary recall on all cp4 pumps while Ford is denying warranty claims?? And, when I call marketing to check on VIN they tell me nothing and offer incentives that would ease the price of waiting. I have already traded my truck and the dealership is holding a 16.5k check after payoff towards this mystery truck I’m special ordering. Now, with all the drama with trashed fuel systems from substandard fuels sold at US gas stations and that fender rust which pops up almost like clock work at 4 years (I’ve been a loyal Super Duty buyer for some time now), it’s hard to ride for the brand. So I am posting this to see what kind of feedback I get?
