  1. Doing that $40k into the process is crap. It's not my experience so far, but it's a fear I can't shake.
  2. Sadly a lot of people don't know this. The upsurge of retail orders is providing unethical dealers with an opportunity to prey on the unprepared. Even if it's only a few it's not great for the brand or the customers. It would be nice if human nature didn't rear its ugly head in this, but here we are as with everything else. The process should not have a giant "Buyer Beware" sign flashing over it.
  3. Right to the back of the months long line isn't an option for everyone. Ford needs to put boot to ass of dealers who are tarnishing the brand reputation. In this environment customers don't have enough leverage to meaningfully affect dealer behavior.
  4. If you use the YAA search you can pull the VIN, then use a sticker look up to find the green window stickers. The dealership is advertising retail orders to inflate stock numbers to get people to the lot. Ask them about any of those no-sticker advertised Broncos and they'll say they're already spoken for. Well, yes...they're retail orders.
  5. So my analogy of yelling into a chasm and hoping a deity responds remains valid...lol.
  6. Can be scheduled but subject only to commodity/parts constraints, or are there other considerations that would prevent a verified COVP order from being scheduled as soon as it is possible?
  7. A verified order should get incremental allocation.
  8. Well this doesn't help. Chipmakers' expansion plans met with supply chain struggles of their own | TechSpot
  9. Good data, thanks. I'll have to find another topic to hyperfocus on before I drive my dealer insane.
  10. Long McArthur guy said a couple of weeks ago when the Feb sales report came out that only 23% of Bronco Sport sales were retail orders and that production was caught up. Ford sent emails to order holders late last week (I posted about it in the ordering section) reminding them they haven't been forgotten. Most of those who received the emails have orders from Nov/Dec of last year with a smattering of folks with newer orders.
  11. The concern I'm having is retail orders not getting scheduled for months on a line that is producing 75% or more dealer stock.
  12. Priority over what? If all retail orders are now COVP aren't we all back in one giant line again? Other than commodity restraints, what pushes orders ahead or behind in the queue? I understand the theory of how this program works, but the practice of it seems off. Is it just the ongoing supply/labor/WWIII problems are preventing the order/schedule/produce/deliver cycle from operating smoothly?
  13. Over at the Bronco Sport forums some people are reporting emails from Ford yesterday explaining they've run into scheduling delays. So far it's all people who ordered last year in November or December. It seems one of the common adds is the premium package. The Long McArthur video a couple of weeks ago said the premium package Badlands just aren't getting scheduled. In my area the Ford inventory search tool (its accuracy?) lists 13 delivered or ordered with the package. What gives? Are these dealer stock that has waited even longer to be scheduled, or is dealer stock making it to production ahead of retail orders? Another thing said in the video was that only 23% of Bronco Sport sales were retail orders because the line was caught up and able to deliver dealer stock. I'm confused that there are people still waiting since November to be scheduled if production has caught up. Am I just being mental, or is Ford kind of messing this up for some people?
  14. I know auto manufacturers gave up the production slots, then found out just how far back in the line they were when demand increased. Plus there was just way more demand because of the tvs, computers, etc. Heck, it took me a while to find a dang mic stand for my desk during that mess. I'll be glad when/if it all gets back to something closer to normal. I just ordered a Bronco Sport and will probably have to wait a couple of months just to get a build date and VIN instead of a delivery. It's a rather frustrating and disheartening experience so far, but one day that will change. Until then, the old guy on standing on his lawn in a bathrobe yelling at clouds will be me.
