  1. The 2021 Mustang Order Guide has been uploaded to the Dealer Order Guides section. Note: The USOB (Unscheduled Order Bank) is not open yet as the 2021 Mustang specifications have not yet been loaded into the WBDO (Web Based Dealer Ordering) system. I addition, the 2021 Mustang Price List has not yet been released.

    2021 Mustang Order Guide
  4. Up until I left the dealership about 5 weeks ago, after nearly 35 years, my company car was a Mustang for almost 20 years... 95% of the time it was a GT including a number of California Special vehicles. So as many of the other BOF members that are Mustang enthusiasts, my Mustang interest goes back to when my Dad bought a new 1966 Mustang. Ironically, Dad bought the Mustang from the dealership I ended up working for after my boss took over the franchise nearly 42 years ago. I got stopped (no, not by the police!) by so many people that I always had Mustang brochures in the car with me that I'd give out to those that I'd end up talking to at length. I never tried to "sell" them. It was just a very low key manner of promoting the dealership in general. As such, I'm just as anxious to see what Ford's doing with the 2021 Mustang, especially the Mach 1! Thanks for your note! Joey
  5. Unfortunately, the 2021 Mustang Order Guides has not been released to Dealers yet or the 2021MY specifications available in the WBDO ordering system. Most of the time the order guides are released on time but in some cases there are delays, most likely caused by additional time necessary for the company to finalize updated vehicle specifications, options, etc. for the new Model Year. I'll keep checking but there's no way of knowing how long the delay will be.

  7. Your best resource is to talk to a Lincoln dealer's parts department. The parts catalog includes extensive schematic diagrams in addition to part numbers to confirm compatibility.
  8. Ford/Lincoln never releases incentive information to Dealers until after the end of the previous month's sales period. Dealers don't know what incentives changes are made until Ford/Lincoln releases the information via the communications portals (FMCDealer.com) that Dealers access. Although sales numbers are now released on a quarterly basis, the business still operates on a monthly basis. Ford won't risk releasing new incentive information in advance and risk having Dealers hold back sales to the next month when incentives are increased on a vehicle line.
  9. Thanks for mentioning that. I'm used to assuming that members here are aware of the "OK to Buy" status because it's so often part of the discussions.
  10. I had to deal with a vehicle buy back situation years ago due to a customer's 1986 Escort GT being totaled when an old service department lift collapsed. It wasn't a Ford buy back but I thought I'd share the experience anyway. It was at the end of the 1986 Model Year and after the cutoff for ordering 1986MY vehicles. The dealership had no problem replacing the vehicle but the customer insisted that his vehicle be replaced with the exact vehicle specifications... color, trim and options with no exceptions. The only replacement vehicle with the closest specifications available was a vehicle at another dealership that was equipped with the optional AM/FM Stereo Cassette. The customer's vehicle was equipped with the just the standard AM/FM stereo. We bought the replacement vehicle from the other dealership but the customer was so difficult and abusive that I went to our Office Manager and told him about the customer being so difficult and insisting that we replace his vehicle with another with the exact specifications. I told the Office Manager that I wanted to swap out the AM/FM Stereo Cassette and replace it with the customer's AM/FM Stereo radio in order to comply with the customer's demands. The Office Manager approved my request. The replacement vehicle was delivered with the exact specifications per the customer's demands. The customer read the Window Sticker content and saw that the replacement vehicle was equipped from the factory with the optional AM/FM Stereo Cassette but that the vehicle now was only equipped with his original AM/FM Stereo radio. When he asked/complained about the change I told him that had he not been so incredibly difficult to deal with that the dealership would have eaten the cost of the Cassette upgrade. But since he was such an SOB to deal with, we delivered the replacement vehicle with the exact specifications that he demanded.
  11. The buy back process has changed over the years but each state has their own regulations governing the process. The dealership has no input in the process and acts only as the "agent" in executing the transaction in compliance with Ford's offer and terms.
  12. Ford and the other manufacturers all make sure that they're competitive price-wise but also set prices as high as the market will allow, meaning what customers will pay which allows them to maximize profits.
  13. The 2021 Mustang Order Guide is scheduled to be released and the USOB (Unscheduled Order Bank) opened today. The order guide has not been released yet and although it is usually available when the USOB is scheduled to open there are times when it's released at a later date. In addition, the 2021MY specifications have not been entered yet into the WBDO (Web Based Dealer) system meaning no 2021MY Mustang orders can be configured or placed yet. Scheduling for the 2021 Mustang doesn't begin until 11/19/2020. I will continue to monitor the order guide status and will upload it to the Dealer Order Guides section as soon as it's available.

Scheduling for the 2021 Transit doesn't begin until 11/12/2020 and not until 11/19/2020 for the 2021 Escape & 2021 Mustang. 15. Yes. Option availability, compatibility, restrictions, etc. are all specified in the 2021 Explorer Order Guide which is available in the Dealer Order Guides section at the link in the menu at the top of the page.
  16. The 2021MY Lincoln Corsair order specifications are per the order guide available and posted. I have no access to specific Lincoln scheduling information. The Job #1 Date information is for the start of regular production. The 2021 Lincoln Nautilus USOB (Unscheduled Order Bank) is due to open on 10/23/2020 and the 2021 Lincoln Nautilus Order Guide should be available on or about that date.
  17. As evidenced by Ford's decades long success in dominating the pickup market, no one does trucks better than Ford. Just when the competition thinks they've caught up with their latest model introduction, Ford leapfrogs them with new features, technology, etc. That same dedication and commitment over the years has cemented the iconic status to the Mustang and looks to doing the same for the new Bronco series. Former Ford CEO Alan Mulally made the right decision at the time in recognizing that Ford needed to sell Aston Martin, Volvo, Land Rover, etc. and concentrate its resources on its core brand. The One Ford concept was correct at the time but has now evolved and changed as both the domestic and global markets have. The company has repaired the damage done by Mark Fields, and now encouraged greatly by the enthusiastic market response to the return of the Bronco nameplate. Solidifying the enthusiasm and order reservations for the all-new Bronco is the attention to detail that Ford has shown with the new Bronco. If Ford had the same commitment and resources for other models, Ford would be a global powerhouse beyond anyone's imagination!
  18. Your post reminded me of something from years ago. On short notice (Summer 1990) I ended up going to the big, annual dealer introduction meeting in Las Vegas. There was a Ford contest and the dealership that won was caught cheating so my dealership was awarded the trip. Our other managers (GM, Sales, etc.) had all recently won trips from other Ford contests so the Dealer Principal gave the trip to me. especially since I was managing the new vehicle inventory for the dealership and ordering all the inventory. After going to the Ford Dealer reception that included vehicle displays of the upcoming new models, etc. I went to the lounge at Bally's and ended up sitting at a table next to George Will, not knowing that he would be the keynote speaker at the main event the next morning. During his presentation the next morning, he talked about professional football being nothing more than organized chaos and then talked about California. His statement, observation and/or opinion of California then is just as true today... California is as close as the United States could come to owning its own foreign country!
  19. Just look at the prices for comparable vehicles in the same class. The Expedition XL series is forecast to be only 6% of production and is in place to serve a specific customer base at a lower/entry level price.
  20. The Job #1 Date (10/05/2020) was the start of regular production for the 2021 Lincoln Corsair. The "OK to Buy" doesn't happen until they reach 5 consecutive days of production with zero defects. Until then all units are held at the plant for potential repairs. Once the "OK to Buy" status is reach units will be released for shipping with units coming out of the plant being released immediately and then the backlog of units that were held at the plant.
  21. 2021 Expedition XL 4x2 MSRP = $49,025 + $1,695 D&D 2021 Expedition XL 4x4 MSRP = $52,075 + $1,695 D&D STX Equipment Group #104A = $970 MSRP
  22. The AWD 3.3L V6 Direct-Injection Hybrid Engine System is standard but most departments in our area are downgrading to the 3.3L ICE and taking the price credit up front instead of the hybrid's lower operating costs long term.
  23. I understand what you're saying about limited potential for a wagon style vehicle but a compelling design rather than a copycat of a competing vehicle, that was uniquely Ford and fit the needs of customers that can no longer find a "car" they want could have a lot of potential. CUV's and SUV's may be all the rage right now but not everyone wants, needs or actually likes the high command seating position. I've felt for years that Ford kept missing the opportunity to target the Subaru market in particular.
  24. Is that a surprise with the UAW's corruption at the highest level? Regardless, the ultimate responsibility is Ford's as it's their plant, etc.
