Move Mustang to Chicago? A disaster waiting to happen with CAP's history! -
F-450 availability may be more difficult today, but the OTD (Order-to-Delivery) timeline has traditionally been much, much longer than the F-350 due to order specifications, supply chain issues, plant capacity, etc. The F-450 also serves a different customer base with heavier duty requirements best matched to the F-450. For consumers desiring or requiring F-450s, those customers place retail factory orders primarily due to the low availability of F-450 stock inventory which won't change. The F-450 availability is also impacted by demand from commercial and government-based fleet accounts.

Ford's bleak outlook for Europe
ice-capades replied to DeluxeStang's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Service benefits Ford with dealership sales of Ford branded Motorcraft parts sales as part of the Ford dealership service process for North America. -
Absolutely! Ford's quality problems have existed for decades, yet Ford even used quality as an advertising slogan (Quality is Job #1) for many years. It was easy to use back then when Ford had 6 out of the 10 top selling models and no one was paying attention to the quality issues because it was a relatively small issue compared to the volume vehicle sales. The quality issues in recent years have become more apparent because they're having a substantial impact on financial results and becoming a much more visible concern affecting the stock price and ratings. Appointing a new executive in charge of vehicle quality issues is just another "Smoke & Mirrors" attempt on Ford's part to make it look like they're finally taking a serious step towards addressing the quality issues. Until there's accountability related to executive compensation for vehicle quality, the problem will continue to exist. It's been a decades long issue at Ford and has to include Ford's supplier relations related to supplier contracts. Ford can only squeeze supplier costs to a point before quality becomes an issue, which is a lesson that Ford still hasn't learned. Sqeezing supplier contracts for the absolutely lowest cost can result in short term savings but long term substantially increased warranty costs. Ford still hasn't learned how important it is to have good relations with its suppliers and allow them to have reasonable profits. In the long run, both parties' profit, vehicle quality improves, and warranty costs go down.

Dealer near east coast willing to dealer trade F450
ice-capades replied to Ford truck guy's topic in F-Series SuperDuty Forum
My former dealership purchased a Shelby GT500 from Koons Ford a number of years ago for one of our long-term customers that was in Florida. We purchased the Shelby outright at MSRP, sent our flatbed truck to pick it up (Prepped and cleaned by Koons Ford) and then delivered the vehicle to our customer in Florida after recleaning the vehicle. Koons Ford may not be interested in a Dealer Trade transaction for the desired F-450 Platinum but may consider an outright sale at an agreed price. The dealership employee's "D Plan" status is probably not a factor in Koon's perspective as they have no vested interest in selling the vehicle directly via "D Plan" to the customer. In addition, the ordering Dealer gets paid the Holdback regardless of which dealership actually reports the vehicle sale. There's little incentive for Koons Ford to sell a F-450 Platinum via "D Plan" to another dealership's employee. If the end purchaser's dealership wants the vehicle bad enough, they'll pay the price that Koons requires and Koons will still earn the Holdback. -
I'll agree with you regarding the Hybrid with Pro Power Onboard but won't be surprised if it's not available for at least a year or couple of years yet. The Hybrid with Pro Power Onboard has already established itself on the F-150's and would be a logical step for the Super Duty models. As for any BEV version, I think that's still years down the road.
