  1. I still admire old pics of my '99 Cobra. I loved that car. Up until about 2 weeks ago I was driving a '16 Dodge Charger SRT 392, but it got hit front/rear. Looking to get a Charger Hellcat next.
  2. Some of us are still around. I sold my '99 6 years ago, but had a chance to buy it back earlier this year. It was run down a little and needed a lot of work. But the kid only put 18K miles on it in 5 years. The kid was desperate for money and sold it to a used car dealer for $3,000. I wanted to kill him. I had already stopped by my credit union to get the loan started. Uggghhh!
  3. Wow, low miles! I guess the previous owner didn't like the car if he only put on 9,000 miles since 2004.
  4. Very nice. I love those cars. Now that I have small kids, it'll be a while before I get another Mustang. I've been driving a Chrysler 300 SRT8 for a few years now and love it! Enjoy your new ride.
  5. Ah yes. That was a memorable day. See, we're still talking about it 13 years later!
  6. In California, we own the plates separate from the vehicle. When you sell the vehicle and want to keep your plates, you can indicate that its being sold without plates and you send the DMV a form stating that you retain the ownership of the plates for future use.
  7. I kept my jacket too when I sold my '99 Cobra in 2008. Maybe someday I'll reunite the two.
  8. Hey guys. Not sure if this is the right place for this post. Its been a while since I've been here since I sold my Cobra. I've got 2 gift certificates that I'm not going to use for NASCAR style racing at Toyota Speedway (Irwindale) in So. Cal. They are on eBay. If you're interested, search for "L.A. Racing / Speed School X - Gift Certificate". Thanks for looking.
  9. Wow. I just came upon this thread. I can't believe all you guys are still around. Its funny to see Tony Viviano still gets crap 10 years later. You guys guys bring back a lot of fun memories (cruises up PCH, track days at Buttonwillow, etc.). I sold my 99 Cobra in July '08. I needed something with larger back seats now that I have 2 growing kids. So I bought a Chrysler 300 SRT-8 and love it. I told the kid that bought my car to take care of it for a couple years because I'll probably want to buy it back. Not sure if that's what I'll do or just start over again with an '03-'04. 99 Kobra, good to see you're still around. It was cool meeting guys like you at SoCal events all those years ago. These days I spend most of my board time on the SRT boards (www.srt8oc.com/forums/). I'll probably be back here more often in a couple years down the road. Good to see you all!
  10. Yah. My wife was pregnant at the time and you know how often pregnant women have to go to the bathroom. Well, as everybody was leaving to go through the canyon, she had to go again and we were quite a bit behind and couln't catch up through the canyon as I got stuck behind several slow vehicles. So once on PCH, I caught up really quick. The reason you guys got pulled over is because the CHP that spotted me radio'd ahead to pull over a red Mustang. The only other red Cobra in the group happened to be leading the pack. How funny! Anyway the cop was really cool (probably becuase my pregnant wife was talking to him).
  11. I think there's more people here than we think. I read some stuff now & then but don't always post. I'm sure others do the same.
  12. Yah. I'm still here too. I love my car even after almost 8 years now. Its good to see some of you old timers (99 Kobra) still lurking around like me.
  13. Those runs were a lot of fun. I think I made every trip. It looks like you're packing a few more ponies this time around with a blower car. Nice! I might be going to Buttonwillow one of the days during the SVTOA event the first weekend in November. I just heard about it today. Maybe I'll see you there if I can make it.
  14. Yep. Wow, you still remember that. That was funny looking back. The cop was actually pretty cool about it. If I remeber correctly, you're in San Diego, right? Still doing any driving instructing?
  15. I also still have my stock '99 exhaust if you're interested.
