  1. Got a 83 crown vic. with the stock 302 motor. I have rebuilt the front and top of this motor. and replaced the following parts - Alternator, Starter, Starter Solenoid, Battery, Coil, Voltage Regulator, Ignition Control Module, Ignition Switch, Distributor(rotor bug, and cap), wires, plugs, Fuses, Link-able Fuses. My problem is this. When the alternator is installed in the order the old one came off (and according to a ford wiring diagram for the 302 motor. Positive to red, Field to white, Stator to black, And a ground.) All are labeled on the alternator so its hard to mix them up..., The amp light on the dash stays on, The starter solenoid usually sticks, causing the starter to run constant. (you have to slap the solenoid to get it to dis-engage) Also it is not charging the battery correctly, runs like it's misfiring or in the wrong firing order. If you disconnect a battery cable or both, the alternator runs the car but the windshield wipers come on full speed. (i pulled the fuse for the wipers and it still has the same problems, except the wipers are non operational when there is no fuse) The car ran O.K. for a few years now, until i was delivering pizza's and the cluster of wiring to the solenoid caught fire. i cut the wires and crimped new ends on them also cutting out any visible shorts/breaks in the wires i could see. And then replaced all electrical parts (listed above in red). There are about 10 wires that connect to the solenoid. 2 yellow, 4 red, 2 orange, 1 white going to the voltage reg; and then the big starter cable and pos. batt. cable. The cluster of wires is mostly for lights inside and out of the car. along with any other electrical equipment the driver may use. When i ran a hot wire from the pos. battery post to the field (white post) on the alternator the amp light turns off inside the dashboard and the car runs like its brand new (i know this is bad, so i do not run it like this). the starter solenoid does not stick and the starter shuts off when the motor fires like it should...I have ran a voltmeter and cannot find anything that would cause this problem... Does anyone have any suggestions? am i missing a key electrical component that may have shorted out when the wiring at the solenoid caught fire? If you think you have an answer I'm willing to try anything, if whatever it is can be bypassed or rigged to work i wouldn't care. I just need this car until i find the right one to put this 5.0 in... any help is appreciated. thank you.

  4. Sheehy Ford and Lincoln car dealer is having a Show and Shine Car Show on June 23, 2013 from 10am-3pm. Free food, prizes and more. A lot of fun and some great cars. 5. Hi, we're new to the forums, actually we're new to Ford! Yes it's the first Ford we've ever owned. My wife ordered a 2013 Ford Edge Limited with the sienna interior about a week and a half ago. Now we can hardly wait! I think we're both a little nervous about the interior color choice though. Because she didn't care for the reddish stitching on the black leather seats. And we saw an Explorer with the pecan interior and thought that if it looked half as good as that it'll be very nice. So now for the waiting. Any suggestions while we wait? Lol. Thanks.
  6. As some of you know, I'm working with fifteen52, Ken Block, and Ford on their Project ST campaign. The project is all about pumping up the new Focus ST in North America, but we're also out to elevate and educate people on some of the serious small performance cars Ford has been offering overseas and some lesser known domestic ones for years and linking that pedigree back to the new 2013 Ford Focus ST. And that's where I come in. Today: hey, we got those here! The Capri II! http://www.fifteen52.us/project-st/history-lessons-15-capri-mk2
  7. If sharing is caring, the folks at Ford care about the Fusion Energi. They started caring by sharing the same powertrain that motivates the C-MAX Energi: a 2.0L Atkinson-cycle I-4 that makes 141 hp @ 6000 rpm and 129 lb.-ft. of torque @ 4000 rpm. Matched with a 35 kW, 47 hp permanent magnet AC synchronous motor, system output is 188 hp with a peak of 195 in charge depletion mode. It also shares the eCVT transmission, regenerative braking and front-wheel drive configuration of the C-MAX models. Read more here. 9. Hello, I just had a question regarding the Sync system in your Focus. My girlfriend and I just purchased new 2013 Ford's. I got an Escape and she got a Focus. Now, it's been three months and she has had nothing but problems with her Sync microphone. We have brought it in to the dealership repeatedly, but no resolution yet. Basically when she is using her phone via bluetooth through Sync there is a ton of road noise and when she speaks her voice is distorted. Ford's fix thus far is putting a huge amount of foam up in the compartment where the microphone is, but this is a bust. Is anyone else experiencing these issues and if so how did you resolve it? She is getting really fustrated with the situation not being able to use Sync for what it is intended. Thanks for your time and consideration. -Zac
  10. Most of us have been driving for quite some time. We’ve picked up habits, mainly due to a traffic-driven mob mentality, that aren’t conducive to optimizing fuel efficiency. More here.
  11. I'm just curious, what's to stop somebody from ordering a car to be built through multiple dealers? I ask because there are so many cut throat dealers out there that even after you order your car they're trying to get you to order through them instead. Seems to me if somebody did that but didn't cancel their original order there should be some type of repercussions? Do dealers even care, because they'll just end up getting the car and selling it anyway. Would love to hear from dealers and people who have experienced this type of situation.
  12. Hey Guys, I've been checking out this forum for a few weeks in my consideration of buying a fusion and decided to join. I just placed my order on Tuesday the 20th November; Ford fusion AWD Titanium, Ruby Red with the 19" wheels and Navigation. Since my parents knew the dealer he said he would give it to us at cost. I ended up signing up to pay 34,450 or so which brought it up to 38,475 with Ontario tax. He said it could take 6-8 weeks to deliver but I've been seeing a lot of people saying its taking forever and a day to get theirs so I'm not sure how accurate his estimate was. Its my first car ever and I plan on keeping it for at least 5years, I've never bought anything this expensive so I was wondering if I got a good deal, is anyone here paying less? Should I go back and try to bargain some more? Tips? Thanks for any feedback, David.
