  1. I have a 2017 Lincoln Continental and wanting to upgrade the subwoofers in the car with JL Audio sub/amp, however the ANC Mic's have pretended me from doing so. Does any one know how to disable this feature, I want to avoid ripping out the headliner and unplugging the microphones. Thanks
  2. I've seen some non-definitive discussions of this on some forums, so I thought I'd share in case someone else has the issue. 2017 Escape Titanium AWD 2.0-L I'm just under 10,000 miles on it, though this started happening a few thousand miles ago. When backing up, especially backing up and turning as if you are coming out of a parking space in store parking lot, or backing out of a driveway, After moving a few yards I'd get a solid "CLUNK" both sound and feel that appeared to be coming form the rear end (of the Escape, not me). It was solid enough that my instinct was to cover the brake like I'd hit something. The best I can describe it would be as if I'd run over a partially full beer can with one of the back wheels. The problem grew more and more consistent. I'd asked about it at the dealer briefly and they just stared at me so I've been ignoring it, until it was time for the oil change and checkup. I mentioned it on the work order and the tech definitely noticed it when he went to get the car (good luck for me). They looked at a lot of the undercarriage and couldn't find a problem, but didn't want me to drive it until they found it, so they gave me a ride home. Long story short, they've replaced the "Four Wheel Drive Control Module" located in one of the back kick-panels and believe they have solved the problem. That's ONE of the theories I've seen people talking about, so maybe this will help someone else get to the solution more quickly.
  3. I HAVE A 2013 EDGE WITH 29755 MILES AND IT MAKES A THUNK/CLUNK NOISE WHEN LET OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL AND BEFORE PUT FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. IT SOUNDS LIKE SOMEONE HITTING HITTING A WORKBENCH WITH A HAMMER. THE DEALER HAS REPLACED THE BRAKE PADS FRONT AND REAR, THEY (THE DEALER) HAS ALSO TURNED THE ROTORS FRONT AND REAR. THE CALIPER CLIPS WERE ALSO REPLACED WHEN THE PADS WERE REPLACED. HERE IS A YOUTUBE VIDEO LINK TO HEAR THE NOISE http://youtu.be/pSqlizjq3Vs . PLEASE HELP WE LOVE OUR EDGE EXCEPT THIS NOISE.
  4. I am leasing a 2014 Ford Fusion SE. It has about 6,000 miles on it. Ever since I have had the car I have been hearing a very high pitched noise coming from the dashboard. I thought that the sound may go away after I drove it for awhile but it hasn’t. The noise starts after you turn the car on and will stay on for a period of time after I turn the car off. The noise is constant and will get louder when the blinker is turned on. I have turned the radio off and the climate control off to make sure it is not coming from there. The car does not have to be driven to hear the noise. I have taken it to the dealer to have it looked at but they were not able to hear the noise. I told them that only younger people have been able to hear it. I am 26 and my brother is 23 and we can hear it but our parents that are in their late 50's cannot hear it. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for what this could be so that I could let the dealer know. So far I feel like they think I am crazy and are not taking it seriously. I called Ford service to try and figure out what is going on, they said the next step would be for me to go to the dealer and sit in the car with the technician. Not sure how that is going to help since it’s either you can hear the noise or you can’t.
  5. Ok, this topic is only about the MKZ Hybrid 2013. For those that have taken delivery I have a question. I have noticed when sitting at a light running on EV, and all climate, radio, nav off I am hearing some weird whirring noises. Can you guys try this out and see if you hear anything at all. I would hate to have to take this back to the dealership 1 day after getting it!!!
  6. Had my 2013 Escape Titanium at the dealer for front end vibration/noise. There is a TSB 12-12-13 Some 2013 Escape and Focus vehicles equipped with Continental tires may exhibit concerns with tire noise or vibration may be caused by excessive rubber flashing in the groves between the treads from the tire manufacturing process. The thickness of the flashing will be between 0.6 mm to 2 mm (1/32" to 3/32") and run perpendicular to the groves in the tread pattern. The excessive flashing causes a slapping or beating noise above 72 Kp/h (45 mph). The noise has been perceived as a vibration concern to some customers. The fix on the TSB Have the dealer use a pair of pliers to grab and tear the rubber flashing out of the groves between the treads. Typically if the flashing is found, check 180 degrees fromn the location for additional flashing. Our Escape is much quieter and smoother now!
