Iraq

By that line of reasoning, we should not ever attack any enemy because they may fight back. I believe that he has a serious bowel blockage problem. it is called "caputinrectumitis".

This post makes no sense, again, no proof that attacking Iraq was necessary other than to secure their oil, and put us in control of a region central to the neo-cons plans for world domination as outlined in their own report. >> http://www.newamericancentury.org/

To avoid having to return to Congress for more debate on Iraq, Bush had pushed for and received authority to launch a war without further advance notice to Congress. Never before had Congress so trusted a president with this authority. But in granting this unprecedented authorization, Congress insisted that certain conditions be established as existing and that the president submit a formal determination, assuring the Congress that, in fact, these conditions were present. Specifically (and here I am summarizing technical wording; the actual language [is in section 3(B) (1) and (2) of PL 107-243]), Congress wanted a formal determination submitted to it either before using force or within forty-eight hours of having done so, stating that the president had found that (1) further diplomatic means alone would not resolve the "continuing threat" (meaning WMD) and (2) the military action was part of the overall response to terrorism, including dealing wtih those involved in "the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001." In short, Congress insisted that there be evidence of two points that were the centerpirce of Bush's argument for the war.

I'm still waiting to hear some that make any sense. I think that you are badly screwed up. Orwell, in his book "1984" was describing the world of the extreme left, or your Utopia. The right seeks to cast off the shackles of government control and allow people to take their lives back.

Actually he wrote about a society much like ours, where the people (much like today's right wing) are completely deluded..

America has always tried to live in isolation. She only retaliates when pushed to the extreme limits. She does not want world domination. She does not want anything. It is the people who decide who is in power. America wants what the majority of Americans want, whatever that is. Dictatorships, on the other hand do have sinister agendae. The people have no say. Give a dictator almost limitless oil wealth, and there is no telling what will happen. The Middle East dictators want America and Israel destroyed. They may soon have the means to do it unless we stop them now. The whole world has to be either Democratic or Authoritarian. This war will decide which way we go.

Israel destroyed? Maybe. America destroyed? Are you nuts? the Gulf NEEDS America, Egypt does too. The only country that I can think of that doesn't need America is Libya and they're too poor to afford a terrorist attack anyway.

WTF so you're going to destroy the whole ME because of a minorty (2% can't be higher than that) that hate America? Give me a fucking break.

Deluding people is not what the right is about. That is what the left is about. Maybe you are dyslexic. If you want to see an example of the extreme right, look at the old west before there was law. Anarchy is the extreme right. Everyone does as he pleases. I am not advocating that, just nudging in that direction. The extreme left is total control of people's lives. The left wants more taxation, more social services. In the end, they just take all of your money, and after pocketing most of it throw you a few crumbs. That is what Orwell was concerned about. You may believe that corporations are evil. Corporations fall much easier than dictatorships. If you are not happy about how the war is being run you have the right to change the government. The enemy's people do not have that right. Hopefully, the majority of Americans will not be of the surrenderist mentality like you.

Who says polls are not accurate. One would have to go no further than this thread to see the cogent reasoning Fox news viewers provide to the discussion. It's a shame really, sure, we can have disagreements, in fact, I prefer it. Yet, when I see dribble like this post, you really have to wonder? Prenatal drug or alcohol abuse? Furry suffered some kind of head trauma in his youth? He forgot to say "no" to crack?

Really, "civil war will break out" - are you kidding? What do call the conflict now? "Saddam is gone and the world is better off for it" - wow! Iraqis are worse off, as are we.

This ends it for me in this thread.

Good, hopefully you will be replaced with someone who has common sense!

Expel the %2 and spare the innocent. Hand over the terrorist and we will find an end. Police within your own borders an we don't have to. To this point the ME has not even recognized terrorism as a problem, calling them freedom fighters. On 911 I watched video of arabs celabrating in the streets. Link Demand that the Pakistanis to hand over Osama bin Laden. This is a global problem being confronted by only one country. Right now Iran seems to be a bigger problem and we don't have the resources to deal with every terrorist state. I guess it's easier to tell us we're wrong and turn a blind eye to it rather than confront it. We're not wrong just because you refuse to face the facts!

Well, if the team had lost under Saddam, his son would have beat the hell out of the team members in the now closed torture chambers. Didn't they hang Saddam in one of his own prison/torture facilities?

Looks like they ARE enjoying their freedom. After the celebration, they can find the dudes responsible for that blast and play soccer with their severed heads.

You have to be kidding me right? You think the governments are funding them? Offcourse they're working on it, Osama has plans AGAINST the Saudi gov that's why the police here is working to pwn his ass.

Other Arab countries? I really don't know. Besides, I have no faith in Arab Governments nor in their people.

Whenever I think of Arab people, I remember Benjamin Franklin's quote "People who are willing to sacrifice a little liberty for a little security deserve neither, and will lose both."

Freedom? What Freedom? There's no government. The police "department" can't do shit against the terrorists that are tearing the land apart, is that Freedom? Is that the fucking American freedom?

Wait a min. your blaming America for your home grown problem. We can't magically fix your problems, we are just there to assist you. We removed the regime and gave you an opportunity to have a real election. Now it is incumbent upon you to stand and take responsibility. I can blame other people all day long too, but I can not affect change good/bad unless I take actions to make it happen!

It's too bad our men and women sacrifice so much for the ignorant masses.

The ignorance of the masses you speak of are willing to stop a sacrifice based on lies and bring our troops home...so tell me oh wise one - who's looking out for the interests of those serving, the "ignorant masses" as you state or the mass of ignorance that occupies space in your head and those who think like you?

The majority of the troops want to stay and get the job done. They are smart enough to know they will have to go back if we leave too early.

The soldiers aren't stupid, they don't like to pay for the same real estate twice.

They know they didn't go to war based on lies. After all, even Syria knew they had WMD's and voted as such in the security counsel. We knew they had them, the UK knew they had them, the world knew they had them, the liberals in congress knew they had them and voted to authorize this war.
