Trimdingman
More people are killed on the highways in the US than in the war. Should we ban cars? Liberals do not know the meaning of the word "perspective". Whether they are arguing about the war, global warming, jobs going to China, or socialized health care, they just talk about the worst case scenario. Their predictions never come true. When Liberals succeed in their boondoggling, we all get screwed with higher taxes and stupid regulations. mrballsonya
I’m not buying your premise that newspapers are unbiased…..look at the NY Times or the LA Times…both lean to the left…as does our local paper the Va. Pilot……it is all driven by their editorial boards…most of these people are products of liberal journalist schools…..like Columbia ……Although our local paper just recently changed their policy of endorsing political candidates, prior to that 90% of the time they endorsed a democrat….so unbiased ..NO…..a lot of the content of any paper comes from the wire services…Reuters or the AP…..where these stories end up in a particular paper is decided by the editor…example; there was a NYT story in our local paper yesterday reporting that a study has shown that capital punishment is a deterrent to murder……because the left generally does not believe in capital punishment this story was buried in the back of the “national” section. Good post! Although I never stated that Newspapers aren't biased. You're right, the ultimate content of a newspaper is controlled by the editor. The editor controls which stories are printed from the AP, and where they are placed in the newspaper. If you feel the Newspaper is leaning to one side or another then you should take issue with that. But as I said before, the beauty of a Newspaper is the fact that you have control over the stories you read, and when you read them..... there is no waiting for that "interesting story" later in the newscast. When you read a piece in a newspaper written by an AP journalist you can rest assured that there will be no bias, only facts. I'm just glad that real Journalists still do exist, and that almost all of them take the Journalistic oath very seriously. I read several newspapers everyday and have learned to filter what I read….over time I’ve done the same with TV news and for my money I’ll take FOX any day of the week over the all the others…they lean too far to the left for me…. These words could've come from straight from my own mouth, until you got to the Fox News part. That sounds just like what the present administration is doing. Did nappy open up his eyes? Lets see, we have a terror alert system based on colors, that is used to scare the public. http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/20...ge-alerts_x.htm "The Bush administration periodically put the USA on high alert for terrorist attacks even though then-Homeland Security chief Tom Ridge argued there was only flimsy evidence to justify raising the threat level, Ridge now says.Ridge, who resigned Feb. 1, said Tuesday that he often disagreed with administration officials who wanted to elevate the threat level to orange, or "high" risk of terrorist attack, but was overruled." Bush keeps bringing out OLD Bin Laden tapes, some of which are clearly a different character acting as the "boogie man". Also how many times can one terrorist die? There has more than one instance that a particular major terrorist has been reported in the news, later to be shot dead again after a few months. I would tell people to get their shit together and be planning for a major downturn. And if you would like to keep some of your hard earned wealth; you should be putting your money in real commodities, gold, silver or others. Hell if you have a big enough tank in your backyard, fill it with oil. The dollar is falling like a rock. Any paper such as stocks or bonds could easily become worthless. The dollar losing value does suck but I remember when it was worse and we prospered then. http://fx.sauder.ubc.ca/etc/USDpages.pdf One thing is it will make our products cheaper on the world market and with the cost of labor being lower perhaps keep or open manufacturing jobs in the US. I think for every negative has a positive.
