Play nice...it's the season for giving, wishing holiday cheer and spending money...spread some love around...

As I understand it the AWD systems in the 500/Taurus/Fusion just adds about 120-140lbs to the vehicle,it's not at all the more complex 4x4/AWD systems seen in trucks where it can add 200-400lbs. Just adding 120-140lbs to a sedan/crossover isn't much for it's benefits. It's like having one less passenger...

Although I have a friend with a ghetto-fied Civic, who removed insulation, stereo, headrest, rear seat and a bunch of other things just to make his ghettofied Civic a bit quicker. So having walked into his garage with all that junk taken off the vehicle, he's showing me how the vehicle weighs about 200lbs once he removed all that. So after disputing that...

A) should have bought a more powerful vehicle like Mustang

B) Why buy a car if your going to live like a Peasant without luxuries in it

C) You know, you cant talk on your cellphone if you remove the insulation.

D) Yes, do keep the airbags for insurance reasons...

So I tell him, "Get your fat ass out of the car (280lbs) remove your big gulp "Diet Coke" (3lbs), fill your tank only 1/4th of the way (40lbs), take out all your work/files/rolling desk from your car (30lbs)...." See, now your about 350lbs lighter".... :-)
