suv_guy_19
Beginning Dec. 14, look for a 2007 Shelby Mustang GT500 — in red with signature white stripes — to chew up the scenery and the streets of New York City in I Am Legend, starring Will Smith. StevenCaylor
I know this is nitpicking, but IIRC, Mr. Heston was driving a red convertable in The Omega Man. If it was a 70, it would have been an XL or Galaxie 500. It could only have been an LTD if it was a 71. Deanh
I wonder if it is indeed a GT500 or just a regular gussied up GT...why would Ford give up a limited production vehicle when it would make more sense 9 especially in a movie, just to have a "double"? acheives the same resolve.....then just foley in appropriate blower whine...watch it be an automatic...LOL! Its is a legit GT500. I still have a tv episode (I cannot recall the name) DVR'ed where they test jumped one and it got messed up pretty bad. They had a second car that they robbed parts from for the "jump" car because of shortage of parts when filming.

Moby Vic
Why wouldn't they use a GT500 as a GT500? The cost of one of those is peanuts for a movie budget or an automotive promotional budget. I doubt Ford charged the studio any ADM.
