Treatment of Ford Employees at ACH Plants by management/ union response

Recommended Posts

I thought it would be good to have a source for Fellow Union Brothers & Sisters from different Locals to share what's going on at their plants and how they're being treated by management and the their Unions response. Please keep vulgarity out of any comments. Remember you represent your Local (like it or not). I work at the Sandusky Plant. Currently, we are still for sale or to be closed by the end of 2008. Our skilled trades have been cut to the bare bones! Preventative Maintenance in most of production is NON-existent, except on paper. Production & Skilled workers can be seemingly written up for any infraction. Punishment varies for offenses (same offenses different penalties). Management running rampant! Our supposed Old Local contract (International claims is automatically extended) has been shredded by Management! Our union representatives constantly pass the buck! If you file a grievance, Good Luck! Our Union Reps try to discourage this. They openly say "I can file a grievance for you, but they'll just laugh at it". Temporary full-time workers stay working, while full-time Ford employees are forced into Lay-offs. Labor Relations is no longer a mediator between floor supervision and hourly. They are continually on the floor looking for the smallest infractions to give time off to someone! They've become headhunters, trying to drive people out! Our Union sits by idly and lets this happen! International was confronted at our international contract ratification. We the Membership, DEMANDED a meeting with international and us, the membership. We were told O.K. this will happen. So far, Nothing! The atmosphere at our plant is one of constant stress, one of seemingly constant harassment and intimidation! I even feel sorry for the Full-time Temporary workers, they pay Union dues with no hint of a return, as they are constantly fearful of being fired or written up for a trivial thing, leading to firing! They work as though they were in a non-union sweatshop! Many of them will probably become anti-union, for they see no benefit from them paying Union dues. For the words written in the last issue of Solidarity by Mr. Gettelfinger doesn't apply to them or to anyone in our plant! :banghead:

I noticed an ad in the Register for temporary jobs at the plant. Take a look at the Sunday help wanted section of the Register.

I'm offended!

LOL

Just jokin'

You have explained most of the situation dead on. Just dont lable all Rep's as being the same. They are all each very different. There are things that go on, or get "let go" that may not be the fault of a particular Rep / Rep's. Some are fighting with one or both hands tied behind there back. Remember.... We are "ACH" Ford. Sotta like a "red headed step child" (no offence to any red heads here Just an old saying), or an outta work son in law.(hope that saying dosen't end up true!)

If I can help in some way, feel free to ask.

No sht....Pioneer is probably one of those members who drives a non ford product and bought the supervisor a christmas gift!! :stirpot:

I have two Ford products, and one non-Ford. All are UAW built.

I didn't buy my supervisor a Christmas gift, but I chipped in for one. I work for a really good guy and he takes care of us, unlike our traitor of a building chairman.

:hysterical: I knew it...you did buy your supervisor a christmas gift...wht a fk!! What does you chairman have to do with it?? Did you get him one too?

What did your chairman do to not take care of you??

Don't you have a committee person who handle the floor stuff?

If you worked at my plant and drove a non ford...it would be trashed the first day...especially if it was new!!

We didn't have to get him a Christmas gift. Chuck Browning got him one, right after he sold everybody at our plant down the river.

Who Chuck or Jodey??? I didn't realize anyone one person had that much power.

Is this the same river Ford spent millions of dollars to clean up last year? :reading:

Please tell me you never bought your supervisor a Christmas gift Furious!!! :stirpot:

F-ck NO He's a dumb sh-t who thinks monkeys are smarter than we are, If I got him one I bet he couldn't figure out how to unwrap it without enlisting the help of the general foreman. Hell by the time it was over the production manager, shift supervisor and three engineers would be envolved and they'd have to call Detroit for back-up! :hysterical:

Ain't that the truth...they wouldn't get any help from the Detroit area. We have some engineers that are organized on the East Side that could help them though!! It will cost a little less and they will get it right the first time!! :hysterical:
