mountaineerwv
mountaineerwv Why do you insist in creating entire pages of posts by yourself. If you are tring to convey a message your ineffective at it. All you do is chase interested parties from the threads you post on. I quit debating health care one the tread created for the topic, becuase of you and your ignorant methods! Instead I began injecting the idea in general conversation with other members when the oppertunity arouse so you would not hijack the threads I discussed it on! Your a moron, and If I were the one paying you to post I would fire you for being ineffective! Why? To prove that I am right and you guys are wrong. After all, some issues require more than a bumper sticker slogan that appeals to the easily duped. You ask me for corroborating evidence and then you complain about the posts being too long. I chase them away after they can no longer support their idiotic positions with anything other than personal prejudices. Oh, you still have not learned, have you? It is not "your", it is "you're" or you are". For example, it is "You're a moron", not "Your a moron." It is "you're ineffective", not "your effective". Oh, I am very effective irritating stupid conservatives and their idiotic rants.
Trimdingman
Income is the indicator of one's ability to pay taxes. It is how we try to institute a progressive tax system. And, capping taxes as you suggest is the opposite of progressive, it is regressive. Looking at it your way, the money does not belong to the one who earned it. It belongs to the government. The government gets to decide how much of your own money that you are allowed to keep. That is Communism. I say that if there has to be taxation, then there should be a cap on it. We do not need to have government running our lives. Personally, the idea is extremely abhorrant. It is like having your ambitions, intelligence, and accomplishments turned against you. The seething jealousy of the ne'er-do-wells comes to bear. Only the connected will enjoy the wealth, not the ambitious who are capable of creating it. The masses will exist in bondage and poverty. If you want to keep ALL of your money, then I guess you do not want to be a member of our society and all the benefits that such a society bestows on you. Maybe you should find a little cabin like Ted Kazinsky, hunt for your squirrels and rabbits and become the hermit that you apparently want to be. (quote tags) You did? Really? What side were you on? Are you for a National Health Care system, aka socialized medicine by right wingers, or the current broken system or that tax incentive program pushed by McCain or Health Savings Accounts? I bet you are not even aware of the alternatives, are you? Again, not admitting your mistakes is something you should be concerned about. But what the heck, GWB does not learn from his mistakes either. So, you are in good company, depending on one's perspective.

Maybe you should find a little cabin like Ted Kazinsky, hunt for your squirrels and rabbits and become the hermit that you apparently want to be. I have paid millions in hard earned dollars in taxes to this "society" in my life. I am still waiting to be "bestowed". My ancesters came here to escape the shackles of government back in the 1600s. They helped to build a different kind of world, where a man was not restricted by titles or by class. It was a world where opportunity was there for everyone. Once they built this world, then the weak started to come. They have a different idea. They believe that they should not have to work, that everyone should have equal wealth, regardless of what they contribute. Well, that is not my world. I would rather have much less than someone else, knowing that I earned it myself, than be a wealthy tyrant, robbing from others. Where is the incentive to excell if the government is going to take away the fruits? If somebody is a success, more people benefit if they work for him directly of their own free will, than benefit if the tax collector takes everything and distributes it as he sees fit. Most of the money will go to the idle. Soon, everybody is idle. Civilization stagnates, and eventually is replaced by another conquering civilization that is more capable. Most people to-day would not be capable of surviving on their own. That is what it has come to. Edited March 12, 2008 by Trimdingman

I don't like single payer plans, they cover those who don't contribute, but the Ohio plan is better than the alternative. The Clinton/Obama plan leaves the for profit insurance companies intact, and mandates you buy their product! Is your memory coming back now! Health Care is not a right, it must be funded! :shades: I disagree with both of your points. 1). Don't contribute? So, what would you do with those people? Let them get their care at an emergency room after the disease has progressed to the point that it will cost many times more than it would have if it was caught earlier? 2). Health Care is a right. It is a moral right. It is immoral that the richest country on the planet can not cover it's citizens. Answer me one question: Why can't the American people have the same system that their government representatives have?

Trimdingman
You know it is not good to exaggerate. It borders on lying. Last year, my income tax was $33,000. Add all other taxes. Multiply by the 33 1/2 years that I have been at Ford. Adjust for inflation. That is not counting what my wife paid. It comes to well over two million. I worked for another 10 years before Ford, also. Don't try to change the subject. The point is that a hard worker puts in much more than he gets out. A slacker takes out much more than he puts in. This leads to more and more slackers and more people working as their assistants, such as social workers. In the end, the whole civilization collapses. These people do not even want to defend the country against the collapse which they are responsible for. When the "Huns" take over, if they do not kill you outright, they will make you their slaves. It will be what you deserve, but not what I deserve.

You work at Ford and pay $33,000 in income taxes? Are you a Ford executive? No wonder Ford cars are so expensive. I thought Reagan and Bush lowered the top tax bracket to help out you top 1% earners. I have not heard the term "Huns" since I was watching the History channel and heard them talking about the "Huns" in WW1. If you are near that SS retirement age or older, then you are one of those "slackers" you talk about as today's SS retirees take out much more than they ever put in, with interest. Slaves of whom? mountaineerwv
What's your definition of bankruptcy??? Stop answering questions with another question. You stated earlier that the US is bankrupt. I want you to provide a source(s) that proves your point. You asked me to give you an example of an efficiently run government program, I did that. You asked me to tell you what the government does for it's people, I did that. Now, prove to me that the US is bankrupt.
