Blueblood
The only thing these two trucks have in common are the rear door skins, THAT'S IT! EVERYTHING ELSE IS DIFFERENT. Sorry, but thanks for playing... Sorry, but you're high, those of us who are honest can clearly see from the pics that they look exactly the same. I can't believe the cheerleaders started an arguement over this too, every damned thread too, arguements always started by the cheerleaders, next thing ya know you guys will start trshing the Cown Vic in this thread.. I still want a Raptor, hopefully I can use it to run over the cheer squad!!

Yeah, but if you reply to an argument that THEY STARTED, they get their diapers in a bunch and start crying. Then they go and start threads about people. 02MustangGT
Not me, Mr. P, I was just pointing out the truth to Blueblood. Not cheerleading or drinking kool-aid as BB likes to say, just speaking the truth to someone who doesn't know shit.
Edstock
Sorry, but you're high, those of us who are honest can clearly see from the pics that they look exactly the same. They look similar, but they are different panels. Curvature radii are different in the wheel arches, as they emerge from the fenders, which have similar, but slightly deeper side contours, compared to the old F-150. Soon, it will be out and it can be parked next to the old F-150, and the differences will be apparent. Many look, fewer see. The differences are there. 3-D perception isn't optical, but mental. As such, it can be trained and improved. 02MustangGT
Oh look, another person who knows what they are talking about when it comes to comparing the 09 F-150 to the current truck.
MERKURXR4Ti
I am very surprised this project hasn't been scrapped yet. With gas prices they way they are and consumer confidence being at an all time low, I just cannot see the reason for this truck. I think the money would be better spent on something that won't be getting 16 MPG. Agreed that Ford needs to get the fiesa/VERVE here as soon as possible. But some people want a truck like this...God knows if I had the money... Good Lord I would enjoy mudding in a Ford for a change
White99GT
That may be true, but they were on the low side of mid 13s while the cobras were on the high side of mid 13s. Jalopnik is saying there is a Big SVT logo on the tailgate and F O R D lettering on the hood. Actually, I've seen stock '01s pull off 13.2 and 13.3s. Admittedly, that isn't typical and on average they are a couple tenths and mph slower than the LS1 cars, but in the real world couple of tenths doesn't amount to much. The 99/01 Cobras held their own with the FBodies.
DTP Body Door Hang
What are YOU talking about? Yes they are 100% carry over, the only difference to any part of the sideof the truck is the tiny little creases they made to the tops of the fender flares, the side trim, lower cladding, doors, greenhouse are exactly the same as the 04. Sorry bub they are not even close to being a carry over. I know from personally working on the body myself with my own grubby hands. These two trucks are as opposite as can be. There is a whole shit load that has changed. From the interior sheet metal to the exterior sheet metal, all 100% new. Thanks for playing and have a nice day. DId they need to keep some people busy with "busy work"? Or did they do ALL of that work...and at the end realize that they designed the exact same thing? TomServo92
I stopped trying to figure out the people that "run" this company a loooooooong time ago!! :shades: I work for a very large Fortune 500 company and I too just shake my head at some of the decisions made at the top. But as long as that deposit is made twice a month to my bank account and the stock prices keep going up, I don't worry too much about it. Your posts on this board are just that, boring. You have no real knowledge of current or past Ford products, oh, except for the panther cars, which by the way Ford has wasted their time with over the last several years. (well at least the Ranger got new lights, the CV hasnt changed much at all) car companies to weird things for what seems like just the sake of doing it. hell, 69 and 70 Cougars have different quarter panels even though they look almost exactly the same. (rear wheel well openings are larger on the 70 for no apparant reason, marker light holes are different too, but that wont prevent you from swapping quarters from one car to the other). There are alot of other examples out there. I dont remember them offhand though. When working at the body shop we noticed alot of this crap when dealing with used parts. just because a part looks almost the same, doesnt mean it is. (well at least the Ranger got new lights, the CV hasnt changed much at all) Exactly. Ford is designing their best selling product, like they do fleet vehicles. Just a mild refresh front and rear and call it a day. What was it that I am wrong about? That the middle of the F-150 has changed...it hasn't. Expecting rational discourse from a negatard? What is more rational than, "Well, they look exactly the same...so a reasonable person would believe that they were not touched during the "refresh." 02MustangGT
That the middle of the F-150 has changed...it hasn't. You can't read can you? People who actually work to build the product have confirmed, the middle has changed, however minor that change is.

Just a mild refresh front and rear and call it a day. If you read the post a little more carefully I alluded to the fact that even though it looks similar, it probably is different. I have not seen an 09 F150 in person yet so I dont know for sure. Others here on the board seem to have much more experience with it, and they also say its different. Id trust the word of a person that actually builds the truck over someone who looks at pictures of it online. I am still waiting for ANYONE to show me the differences. So far, all I get is..."Oh it's different...I cannot show you...but there are changes." Now who am I going to believe, my eyes that tell me they are the same...or some anonymous person on the internet?
