IMSA-XJR9
How's your wait coming along? Did the parts make it to the shop or still on back order?
NickF1011
How's your wait coming along? Did the parts make it to the shop or still on back order? Still waiting. They called with an update at least. Of course, the update was that there was no update, but at least they called to tell me.
NickF1011
One correction to make: the K-member and A-arms are AJE Racing, not Racecraft. Still good stuff in my opinion. But...STILL waiting for them. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!! Just got an update that the A-arms are ready, but they don't do much good without the K-member. IMSA-XJR9
:poke: :reading: Anticipation . . . . And since you are waitng and probably would LOVE to spend more money, there is a FR500 intake on ebay.com for $2500 and a set of FR500 heads (but seems to have 99 cams.) Tempting, tempting . . . Hope the wait isn't too bad.

NickF1011
The car is dropped off!! Woohoo!! Laundry list of upgrades/repairs: Upgrades: AJE Tubular K-member AJE Tubular A-arms Strange Engineering Coilovers Mega Bite Jr. Rear Upper Control Arms Mega Bite Jr. Rear Lower Control Arms Repairs: Exhaust leak Starter Maintenance: Oil change Coolant flush Fuel filter Yeah, I could have done a lot of this crap myself, but I don't have the room in my garage and I'm terminally lazy. Possible addition of subframe connectors as well. Going to look over the possibilities....there are clearance problems because of the side exhaust. Can't wait to get it back and toss it around some turns!! IMSA-XJR9
All done?! If so . . . does she like being tossed around now?!
NickF1011
All done?! If so . . . does she like being tossed around now?! Unfortunately still waiting. Upon checking the exhaust out, they found a few gaskets were leaking. They only had gaskets for one side in stock, so they had to order the other ones from Bassani. Should be done in a few days I'm hoping.

NickF1011
Well, cool and not cool. I got it back. It runs like a freaking champ!! Handles awesome, the ride is actually improved, the exhaust has no more leaks, the electrical gremlin is gone. All awesome, right? Well, I had to do what every good Mustang owner would do and put it through its paces after I got it back. I found a nice stretch of open highway and laid into the throttle. Around 90 MPH, I started getting a HORRENDOUS vibration from the rear suspension somewhere. Not really sure what to think....could an adjustable control arm slightly out of kilter with the opposite side cause something like that? I hope it's nothing serious. So.....UGH!!!! It's gonna have to go back eventually. Overall though, I'm very impressed with the work they did so far. I'm sure they'll rectify the problem with the rear suspension at no charge. atomaro
Don't worry, could be something as simple as not putting the driveshaft(dont know if it came out) in exactly the way they came out (they are balanced). Just keep it at 85 and you'll be fine. :beerchug:
NickF1011
Don't worry, could be something as simple as not putting the driveshaft(dont know if it came out) in exactly the way they came out (they are balanced). Just keep it at 85 and you'll be fine. :beerchug: After a few more brief high speed tests, it appears to be a lot better now. Maybe it just needed a little break-in to sort itself out or I just happened to be on a piss-poor stretch of highway at the time. It's still a little shaky, but that could just be the tires out of balance. I'm planning to throw some fresh meats on the front soon, so we'll see if that sorts anything out. IMSA-XJR9
How's the Cobra been running. Still have the little shake?
NickF1011
How's the Cobra been running. Still have the little shake? Little bit of a shake, but I've pretty much come to the conclusion that it's the front tires and not anything in the driveline itself. They are close to being due for replacement anyway, so we'll see how it goes after that. Drove it around most of Labor Day weekend and didn't have any trouble.
