anike7
No sooner than 3 weeks? When did this start? At my previous plant, you always got your sub the week after unemployment.

objectsinmirror
Here's somethig else you guys should know...I think on the second unemployment check, (about 4 weeks in) it will instruct you on the stubb that you MUST visit a michigan works office...if you don't go before your following check, it will throw your unemployment check AND SUB check in a whirlwind...and delay BOTH! Go online and find a Michigan Works office near you. You go in, they sit you down in front of a computer for 10 minutes, and your out.... pbp9298
No sooner than 3 weeks? When did this start? At my previous plant, you always got your sub the week after unemployment. This is crazy! The union is just letting the company do what they want. Next thing you know the unemployment checks are going to be on a delay! We are right here with the FORD HEADQUARTERS and still being crapped on. But why do salaried care any way. They are working regardless of downtime and there money isn't affected. Its like my mother always told me,"WORK AND SAVE YOUR MONEY BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOU MIGHT NEED TO PINCH OFF IT"
MTP'er
You can't tell me they don't know who's working and who's not. There should be no break what so ever at getting us something every week. If your laid off for 2 weeks the first week off you get your last worked check and the second week you should get a SUB check the third week back to work and file for unemployment & get a SUB check and unemplyment check so atleast your getting something every week. Why is SUB pay linked to unemployment??? Stupid !!!

PFA
Your unemployment check is sent out on your third week off. You call in according to your last 2 SS#, day and time. You call an automated number and answer it's questions. It's called Marvin. This is what you do when on a TLO for any amount of time. After the initial call in, you do that every two weeks, same time and day as previous. As for Subpay, I am thinking that it is triggered by your call in to Unempl... Not sure about that though, just seems like that when it was sent out.

If you deviate from the protocol, everything will get screwed up. No one likes the process, but it's much better than starving. chelsea
Here is a hunch. When our anniversary date to come up here came around, They waited until a new month came around to pay us using the same excuse that there was a system glitch. Now, I ran into a labor rep in the hall way (not looking for him) so I asked him what is the deal with Sub pay. Again he gave me the excuse that a system glitch with the Memorial holiday has caused delay(yea right!). He also stated that it would be next week which so happens to be a new month and around the first. (strange?) So this has led me to believe that they are still using our money to pay for the benefit they owe (interest).

This is exactly the reason so many people detest unions and their members. You're receiving up to 90% of your pay for sitting at home, but yet you are STILL complaining because you may have to wait 3 or 4 weeks to get your subpay check???? Unbelievable. Do you not realize that there are people out there who would sell their soul for a job like that????? If you can't survive for 3 weeks without a paycheck working for FMC, then something is horribly wrong. Most employees know that when you work in the auto industry, that it is 'risky', at best. It has always been stressed to the workers to make sure and put money up for a rainy day, because sooner or later, a rainy day is going to come along in this line of work. Instead of whining about the cruelty of waiting 3 whole weeks for a check, maybe you should thank your lucky stars that you have the luxury of sitting on your butt and receiving practically full pay for it. At least you are GETTING a check for doing nothing - 97% of people aren't so lucky. You better wake up and start saving some of that money, because it could be YOUR plant that closes next. The economy is not getting better anytime soon, and FMC will do what they have to do in order to stay in business and make a profit.

I agree with this post however we are contracted workers and while 3 weeks shouldnt make or break someone, DTP over the last few years is getting a bad rep for screwing people outa money. Every since C- crew has started they seem to think of every way possible to delay or just simply not pay people, hell some that came from Norfolk still have not been paid fully from our downweek from last June. Those people followed Labor's directions for unemployment and almost a year later have still not been paid fully shorted almost 400 dollars. Yeah we are lucky to have a job still blah blah blah ive heard it from everyone ,but it comes down to once again we are contracted employees that THE COMPANY AGREED to pay a percentage of a normal work week in the event of downtime , if they did not want to then Ford simply should not have negotiated a new contract this last year plain and simple . Fatso
Ford must show a profit by 2009 in order to satisfy terms of its loan agreement back when the company was mortgaged. It has recently said that Ford will not be able to do that because of high gas prices.I wonder if this means bankruptcy protection for Ford and how safe are Ford`s pensioners?
