Trimdingman
I heard we are only on 10hrs for 1 week and then a flucuating schedule for 4-5 more weeks. We won't be back on 10's until the 11's are out.Even then after the initial dealer stock up it will depend on sales...don't hold your breath. The economy is now in a "dead cat bounce" stage. We will soon be headed back down, and there is no bottom. The current relative stability is a mirage created by printing money with nothing to back it up. It is like in the cartoon; Wile E. Coyote has run off the cliff, but he hasn't looked down yet. Soon all of the young unemployed people will be wearing military uniforms.

Even then, it will not be as strong as it had been. . . I would expect that as for the auto industry, the negotiations with the UAW that are coming up will have talk about freezing our retirement. . . Many large corporations had started that back in 2005. . . My suggestion for our younger workers with 20 years or less, should begin to take monetary preparations to secure your future on your own. . . Forget about Social Security. . . It won't be there!!! Trimdingman
Things must be bad in Oakville......or maybe just in this guy's head? I feel sorry for the Canadians that have to work with this stooge. Aces loves big government socialism. Nobody knows me at work. I am very quiet. I am the last person they would think was Trimdingman. Don't feel sorry for Canadians. Things are peachy in Oakville. It is a town of rich people. There are multi-million dollar mansions along the lake. I am just warning people to be prepared. We had a financial crisis in 2008. Even Obama said that the world's financial system nearly collapsed, so it is not just a bunch of conspiracy theory fear mongerers. His "solution" was to print up enough counterfeit money to cover the losses. This is not a solution. It is just a stalling tactic. The financial system is still on the verge of collapse. If the dollar collapses, you do not want to be in possession of too many of them when it happens. It will happen fast, and the stores will soon be cleared of food, so it is wise to stock up now with a couple of months worth of non-perishables. Think about your extended family as well. You can't turn them away. You don't have anything to lose. If the crisis is avoided, you can use up the food anyway. Remember, it was socialist policies over several decades that got us into this mess. When it is over, I hope that we do away with this socialism and minimize government. You are probably right about that.....I think YOU should run for office Ms wench. post your real name and I'll think long and hard about your earth shattering and insightful musings. You must be afraid of your own shadow. Did the US blow up the world trade center? All we hear is how horrible things are from you. Trimdingman
. Wow. You must be afraid of your own shadow. Did the US blow up the world trade center? All we hear is how horrible things are from you. Look at your bank account and what you do every day to earn that money and thank your lucky stars. You are an ass Which side are you on? My opponents believe that the U.S. blew up the WTC. They are a bunch of lefty wing nuts. The financial crisis is real. Here is another of my analogies for the stimulus package. We are on the sinking Titanic. It is sinking stern first, so the bow is higher. Everything is sliding around. The solution? Blow a hole in the bottom of the bow to let water in at that end to even it up. Of course, this will make it sink faster, but we will be more comfortable. I am not afraid for myself. I am kind of excited to see this play out. I just want to make sure that my family survives. I make a good gross income, but after taxes, there is not too much left. The ones who don't pay any tax and don't have to work and get a free ride at people like myself's expense are the lucky ones. I have to spend most of my waking time inside a factory, while they get to enjoy life on my dime. Are they grateful to me do you think? No, they probably hate my guts because the government doesn't take enough of my hard-earned money to give to them. I wouldn't shed one tear if they got cut off and had to pry themselves away from the TV set or bingo hall or casino/ race track and find a job. autowench
The WTO used to be GATT, General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade, a UN organization. NAFTA made the Autopact obsolete, anyway. To go against a WTO ruling would have meant sanctions against Canada by all other countries in the group. The Autopact was abolished in 2001. The asshole government in power at the time was the Liberals under #1 asshole Jean Chretien. The WTO did not used to be the GATT, and if we get rid of the WTO we can fall back on the GATT. NAFTA did not make the Autopact obsolete, other countries kept the protectionism under the WTO like our Autopact, the unions never challenged this in court and which union should be fighting for the Autopact, oh the CAW - so why hasn't it. To go against the WTO does not mean sanctions against Canada. Canada trades with Cuba despite the US boycott.
autowench
The collapse of our fiat paper currency will probably happen long before we get our COLA back. It will be good for people with big mortgages, as they will be able to pay them off with pocket change. It won't be so good for people with savings and paper investments, because they will end up broke. We will be making $34 an hour, which will buy next to nothing. At least with COLA, we may need a wheel barrow to carry our cash in, but we would maintain our buying power. They will pay us maybe a couple of million dollars a day, enough to put food on the table. Pensioners can kiss it good-bye. This isn't a joke. You may wake up some day soon and it will have already happened. I am going to stock up on canned food. "fiat paper currency" Doesn't "fiat" mean money of the illuminatee (excuse the spelling)? And don't they want to fund our pensions with paper investments? And isn't the only food we can afFORD to buy processed and make us fat and lazy? You're right, it's not a joke.

If Canada had stuck to the Auto-Pact even after the world court ruled that it violated international trade rules, there would have been consequenses. Canada is dependent on exports. It would not have been worth it to put that in jeaporady. We are still producing as many cars in Canada as would be mandated by the Auto-Pact if it were still in existence. Canada trades with Cuba, to it's shame, as far as I am concerned. Cubans will never be free as long as countries like Canada continue to prop up this dictator. I was in "Little Havana", Miami not long ago. If you want to know the truth about Cuba, talk to them.

Fiat money is like Monopoly money. Paper money is just an IOU, supposedly backed up by something of equal value. Not!!!! In the beginning, people traded with gold coins. Then they started putting them in the bank for safekeeping and convenience. The bank would issue a receipt. People started trading these receipts. Soon the banks realized that they could safely issue more receipts than the value of gold in their vaults. This was the original Ponzi scheme. To-day, money is not worth the paper it is printed on. From what I have been told by people who have visited Cuba, the people are afraid to talk about the government, as they don't have freedom of speech like we do. They will do practically anything for you for a buck or two. I don't enjoy exploiting my fellow man that way like some inferiority complex inflicted people of the left persuasion. Cubans don't have their own money. They have the equivalent of a 99% tax rate. Many risked their lives escaping to Florida. Little Havana is a lovely community in Miami. You actually spent some of the precious money you earned on a holiday? Try retiring, sounds like it's time. I went on a cruise recently out of Miami. Two weeks. I had stops at Grand Caymen, Honduras, Belize, Cozumel, and spent the rest at Miami Beach. I wouldn't be able to afford too many trips like that on a fixed pension. I don't have to travel in the summer. I just enjoy my own resort-style residence. I would have to sell that also if I retired. Working for a living is a small price to pay for a great lifestyle. We have been to war against all of them and they ALL have killed our citizens/soldiers...Cuba not so much eh? IDIOT There was an incident back in 1962. The Russians were installing nuclear missiles in Cuba. This was only about four years after Cuba went communist. Cuba has the potential to be more of a threat than other communist countries. I do not vacation in any communist country. China is now more capitalist than many countries that say they are. Manufacturing is flocking there. They would rather operate under China's "communist" government than America's "capitalist" system. China has to buy American bonds to prop America up so the dollar will not crash, and the American people can continue shopping at Wal-Mart. The whole system is in this downward spiral. I have nothing against any people, just their leaders. War is not necessarily one ideology versus another. Nazi Germany and Communist Soviet Union had very similar ideologies. They started out as friends and allies, but ended up bitter enemies. The Soviets showed no mercy to the German troops and civilian population in the conquest. Germany committed genocide on Jews because they did not conform to their socialist ideology. Socialists to-day have little positive to say about Jewish people. You now have a ringside seat to the failure of socialism. Just watch as it unfolds in Europe. Don't worry, though, it will be coming to a "theatre" near you soon.
