P71_CrownVic
Seriously. You have GOT to stop putting words in my mouth. The next time you so blatently misrepresent what I say, I'm going to umm....I dunno, but I'm gonna do something. :P Get used to it. It happens all of the time. rmc523
What I said was I hated the rear end of the MKT concept car. Looking at the spy photos, it's plainly obvious the entire rear end of the production car is different. Therefore, there's a very GOOD chance I'll like the finished product. I didn't like the rear of the MKT concept either, and in the spy photos I've seen, the design itself doesn't seem to be all that different, to me at least. I mean it appears there's gonna be different angles, rakes, etc. but the overall theme appears to be the same. Maybe that's what you were saying or maybe not? Michael Reynolds
I've never claimed that...but I will accept that title you are giving me... Exactly, which means you have no idea what folks are willing to pay for it. And no, I was being sarcastic.
P71_CrownVic
Exactly, which means you have no idea what folks are willing to pay for it. True...but neither do you. Time will tell...but if the Flex is not selling, what makes you think that an even more expensive version of the same station wagon is going to sell? I have a feeling this will sell like the Mark LT. suv_guy_19
I have a feeling this will sell like the Mark LT. So, it will sell better than the comparable Cadillac then? what makes you think that an even more expensive version of the same station wagon is going to sell? Edited August 19, 2008 by suv_guy_19

But where did I claim that I knew? I merely questioned this: It is a bit less than I had originally thought...but still way too much. So I fail to see what you are getting at. Rambling about how something isn't selling, when it has only been on sale for a short period of time is silly. How can you base any data off of that, to make that claim? The Mark LT and the MKT are to entirely different exercises. One was merely an extra trim level with extra chrome, whereas the other appears to be entirely different. So why does this deserve to be compared to the Mark LT? Edited August 19, 2008 by Michael Reynolds

P71_CrownVic
So why does this deserve to be compared to the Mark LT? Simple. They are both tarted up Fords that will fail to do much of anything. Lincoln is not looking good.

The MKT will be just a tarted up Ford? So what does that make the Enclave, or Escalade, or the upcoming SRX......?
P71_CrownVic
The MKT will be just a tarted up Ford? So what does that make the Enclave, or Escalade, or the upcoming SRX......? Certainly not tarted up Fords...
suv_guy_19
Certainly not tarted up Fords... Nope, they're not even close to the same quality as Fords. For once, your right. Edited August 19, 2008 by suv_guy_19

So you're saying around 600/mn? I think it will sell about 1k-1,200 a month to be honest. I think that is about what they will expect. It will be the same ratio as the Edge/MKX. I think what really matters is that it is profitable to sell, and it brings new people to Lincoln, as well as drawing new people to it. P71_CrownVic
Nope, they're not even close to the same quality as Fords. For once, your right. True...but at least they provide a target for Ford to at least try and hit. With the Flex...Ford has gotten close to the board...

RichardJensen
Certainly not tarted up Fords... So, the Enclave is a tarted up Outlook? Or is the MKT not a tarted up Flex? Can't have it both ways. Seeings how interior volume on the Enclave & Outlook are identical, as are wheelbase, track, etc.
rmc523
Certainly not tarted up Fords... By your logic, an Enclave is a tarted up Outlook, Acadia or Traverse; an Escalade is a tarted up Tahoe or Yukon (which is really what it is anyways); the SRX appears to be a tarted up Equinox, the list goes on...... Michael Reynolds
Simple. They are both tarted up Fords that will fail to do much of anything. Lincoln is not looking good. That fail to do anything of what? Aren't all Lambdas tarted up versions of each other, and in some cases have a very similar profile? Yet, again with your double standards.
