Here is a trailer to a film project that I have been working on. It is a live action/graphic novel film simmilar to the look of films like the Watchmen and 300. It is about the grown daughter finding out what happened to her father who was dying of cancer when he is approached by a group of explorers because he may be the key to finding the elixirs of eternal life from Garden of Eden... but many years ago the group of explorers disappeared under violent circumstances...

There is a hella cool 1969 mustang in the film which may be the reason many of you may like this.

Oh yeah, as Columbo says, "one more thing" I am the explorer with the black eyeball.

I posted this in the superbowl ad thread, but figured I'd put it here too....

So I'm really not a football fan at all, and to be honest, except for the last few minutes of regular time and overtime, I fast forwarded through the game just to see the (terrible) commercials......but I think the overtime system is terrible. Ignoring the Falcons' mistakes earlier in the game to lead to overtime, basically the Patriots win because of a coin toss? Granted they have to drive down and score, but come on? The Falcons don't even get a chance at the ball? Yet if the Patriots had kicked a field goal, Atlanta would've had a possession? I get that they don't want a team to run down 3/4 of the way, kick a field goal and it be over, but scoring a touchdown means it's over without giving the other team a chance? Each team should have a possession in overtime.

If team A wins the coin toss, and scores a touchdown in their possession, team B gets a shot, if they score to again tie, continue playing, and THEN whoever scores next wins; if they don't score, the game is over, team A wins. Also, why is there a clock in overtime as it's currently set up? Seems unnecessary.....like what happens when time runs out? They do it again?

---

As for the commercials - as a whole, they were terrible, I thought. The only one that made me laugh was the Kia Niro one.

That's why it's called Sudden Death. Up until a couple of years ago teams could do exactly what you said - drive down and kick a field goal and win. At least they took that out.

But I do wish they'd follow the college format to some degree where each team gets a possession starting at the opponent's 25 yard line and if it's still tied you go again. After the 2nd possession you have to go for 2 points.

Although to be honest - and it pains me to say it - I don't think the Falcons would have scored anyway.

Oh, the very well may not have scored. But I just find it stupid that whoever wins a coin toss has a better chance of winning simply because it's over if that team scores. I know their overtime systems use the clock, but it's not like hockey/soccer where each team has an equal chance at the puck/ball within the overtime.

I just think it should be sudden death after each team has a chance with the ball, that's all I'm saying.

In a sportsyear of epic chokes, that was the epicest I have ever seen.

I can't stand people turning Brady & Belichick into gods-among-men, and this was a game tailor-made to do just that.

I also can't stand obnoxious fans who act like they, personally, played a role in the victory--especially people who say stuff like, 'well, we looked like we were gonna lose, but we never gave up.', etc.

The fact that this stuff bugs me also bugs me.

OTOH, my decision to spend a quiet night at home watching old MST3k re-runs seems to have been the proper choice, since the alternatives were watching the Falcons choke either with or without being surrounded by obnoxious Pats fans.

Do what I did, ditch cable entirely and spend the evening with some relaxing music and reading. I did check in on the score periodically just because I was curious.

I mean I could have watched the game at home if I had an antenna that picked up the local fox afilliate, but since they broadcast on a band that my antenna doesn't pick up and I didn't care enough to go to a bar or something (on top of spending the day with the in-laws which I enjoy much more anyway) I didn't watch it.

Obviously I'm biased but I don't consider it that much of a choke. I think the play calling was terrible in the 4th quarter, passing when they should have been running or throwing screen passes which did lead to a sack, a fumble and a couple of key penalties. But the Pats simply wore down the Falcon defense and they made some adjustments to their defense at halftime and it paid off in the 4th quarter. They didn't give up any cheap touchdowns or special teams plays. They did the same thing against Green Bay but had a bigger lead.

We did the same. I did put an antenna up in the attic, though, so I can still get the local channels.

Of course, I can't do without baseball, so I will likely be springing for sling.tv come April. I can still read and watch baseball without missing much. :)

Channel 2 (Fox locally) is the only local I can't get and I don't care enough to invest in an antenna that can pick up whatever band they broadcast on.

I do need to come up with a solution for the upcoming WBBBT special Tigers season and the upcoming NASCAR season.
