RichardJensen
I liked these Mustangs as a kid: I liked the 1st gen. fox bodies better without the flush headlamps.
FordBuyer
I liked these Mustangs as a kid: I liked the 1st gen. fox bodies better without the flush headlamps. I owned an '83 Mustang GLX Convertible black with red pinstripes and 5.0 V8 and 5speed manual. It had the slot wheels mounted on Michelin TRX tires. It was loaded and listed for over $15,000 way back in 1983. I have some pictures of it and will someday post them on here when talk gets around to Mustangs. I sold it in 2000 for $3,500 as it still looked like new. Only non stock items were built in radar unit, 4 barrel Holly carb, and headers for some extr punch. It had traction bars, and I could still make it go slightly sideways in second gear from about 20mpg holeshot.
Anthony
Had: 79 Turbo Cobra 79 Notch 81 Hatch (straight 6) 85 GT 88 Notch 5.0 Miss 'em all. What they lacked in style, they made up for with character. The 1981 was my first. Was white with TRX's. I painted the sail panels black and replaced the taillights (like most everyone did) with later model LX lamps. Other then that, she was bone stock and clean. Many good memories. 94bronco
I would say that the 87-93 Notch's are the best looking Mustangs of all time, Just something I love about the clean, all business look of the Notches ( the rarity doesn't hurt either). I will probably keep mine forever as I would kick myself for a while if I ever did sell it ( Recently I have had the Crown Vic urge). Sherminator98
IMO the SVO looks stupid without the flush headlights on it. Anyways, IMO the weakest Mustangs looks wise was the 74-79 Pinto based Models. Otherwise the styling of the Mustang has been perfect since its inception. I grew up with the FOX 5L Mustangs, owned one of the "underpowered" 98 Mustang GT's and pretty much have perfection with the 06 Mustang GT I have now between styling and Performance. 96 Pony
You have got to be kidding. As an owner of a 1997 Cobra, I can tell you it's every bit a Mustang as any other. It's quick, it's nimble, it has all of the traditional Mustang styling cues. If the 94-98 isn't a Mustang, none of them are. I actually prefer them to the 05-09's and certainly over any 79-93 Fox body. ^^^ Cosign. Someday I am going to buy a '96-'98 Cobra just because they are still about my fav Mustangs. The interior was equally gross. Helen Keller could have done better.

Helen Keller could have done better. There's a photoshop section here. Post your work, I'd be happy to critique it Is there a "best" or "worst" Mustang? They were all made in different eras and had their limitations. SO many people hate the Mustang II..... I've grown to like it more over the years (I had a 74 Ghia in 75). The 79-81 was a low water mark more in terms of engineering that styling. The folded origami look was popular in the early computer/aero days. But I do have say something about the early SVO Mustangs......they were designed with flush headlamps in mind, but weren't certified in time. I still think the bi-plane spoiler IS way cool! I'd love to see a 2010 SVO (ecoboost 4, 6-speed)

96 Pony
I'll give you the 4.6 2-valve as being a heap from 96-98, but the 4-valves were a thing of beauty and one of the more sophisticated engines of the period. I much prefer the 96-98 tail lights over the horizontal 94-95 ones also. *ding ding ding ding* we have a winner here. The '94-'95's sucked because of their rear tail lights. Even tho the removable hardtop option at the time was cool. The original Fox bodies ('79 - '93's) I never thought were real Mustangs, although I love the cheese-grater tail lights and kick-assed front facia on the late '80's GT's. Overall, I liked them, but I buy cars on emotion. When the '94's came out I was like - "whoa, THAT I have to have." Nevertheless, they served their purpose well, much like the Mustang II did. 96 Pony
PS - IMHO the '99-2004 updating of Mustang I thought sucked, even tho I owned one. The 2010 refresh I am somewhat excited about. :shades:

timmm55
I have no idea what you were just trying to say... I'm not impressed that you post at a Ferarri chat site. BFD. I have no idea what your photoshop abilities are with MS Paint without you posting something. I was speaking stylistically. I could have designed a better exterior with microsoft paint. Edstock
I have no idea what you were just trying to say... Well, maybe I can help you to comprehend: timmm55 said I'm impressed (not). Sounds like he wasn't impressed with your prose. Put up or shut up. A brusque way of saying post some of your work you talk about here, instead of some vague reference to an ill-organized Ferrari site, with no referring link. Are you ashamed of your work? What's the problem? If you can photoshop something better than was was done 28 years ago isn't impressive anyway LOL With development over the last 28 years since that particular Mustang was done, a CG wizard like yourself should have no trouble drawing a better Mustang, even with MS Paint, as you pointed out you like to use. Capice?

96 Pony
The interior was equally gross. Helen Keller could have done better. All a matter of stylistic opinion, of course. Personally I have always felt the interior of the '94-'04's was just about the best and personally, prefer it to the '05 +'s

Capice? I can't possibly imagine why so many people here have such a problem with Versa's posts. It's not like we haven't had posters here before that posed the same perpetual complaining problem... My point is, maybe we should try to be a little more personable to the "has been" poster... By the way "Versa", are you still perhaps in denial?
