shoemaker
How much do we have to give up to feed the greedy? I just want to say thank you to our government members that i'm very happy with your decisions, i don't know if you want us to work or become lazy workers, i feel i should start to take time off from work without compensation so that i will pay less taxes and screw you and including myself. One more thing don't forget i'm paying to work instead of the other way around.
Pumpmaster
http://business.theglobeandmail.com/servle...y/Business/home It looks like Tony Clement is as deluded and ignorant as Bob Corker, Rich Sessions, and Jeff Shelby. Let's enlighten these idiots: we're in a recession. Sales are falling off a cliff---b/c people are losing jobs, which means they ain't buying. All D3 employees---hourly, salaried, contract---can work for free, and it won't matter; the customers aren't out there. Our economies need to start creating living wage jobs---and the customers will come.
Makeastand
Our economies need to start creating living wage jobs---and the customers will come. You said it. That is the answer for our global economy. Our politicians have not been doing their jobs allowing the execs to get out of hand so the elite can get rich and the middle class that the rich hates so much pays for it. Relax, he was speaking about another poster, the one who started the thread. As far as being a foreign fuck, well most of us are not native americans so I'm guessing we are all foreigners. guilt trip
Foreign fuck not called for but neither was Ed's(Mike) "correction." He could have simply stated that it's spelled Ottawa but he had to go beyond that, which is typical of him. The self promoted corrections officer. May not be intended but he came off like a jerk with his response, especially seeing he only posted to correct someone's spelling, which had zero to do with the topic. As for the topic at hand....until the so called leaders start talking pay cuts and giving up perks, don't even think about talking to me. Yes to quote this Ed/Mike reference. I left the keyboard and my.....ahm.... blood brother put in his name. Glad he didn't put down Mary or Susan or something like that. gocash
http://business.theglobeandmail.com/servle...y/Business/home I've been watching the bailout talks since the very beginning. You could see the wage concessions from a mile away, but hey I paid my $20,000 in income tax last year but the government doesn't really care about that,I also accepted an "early negotiated contract in 2008"even though i voted against it. WE NEVER CAUSED THIS FINANCIAL CRISIS and we shouldn't be made to pay for it.This is my solution....since the financial institutional greed and Wall Street caused this mess,I decided that filing for personal bankruptcy was the best choice for me to eliminate all unsecured credit card debts that i owed,at least this way when my wages are reduced to be "COMPETITIVE" with foreign auto companies,my new wage will be "COMPETITIVE" with my mortgage and car payment. So I guess you can now say that I have also now contributed to the financial mess, but did it "ahead of the curve",by the way you get to keep your house and car if you meet the requirements. Why try to keep up with the credit card payments when no one cares about us?....whatever happens now,at least I'll be "COMPETITIVE".....gocash

Trimdingman
We are at the mercy of the car buying public. Our employer has manipulated them into demanding for us to give concessions by cleverly asking for help from the government. It is win-win for them. The auto industry learned its lesson from the Flint Michigan fiasco, when the public was up in arms with them for their treatment of the workers. Now the public wants us to be punished to the fullest extent possible. For the sake of good PR, we will probably have to comply to some extent. The question is: are we all going to take the hit equally, or is a vulnerable group going to take the lion's share? bubba11
As for the topic at hand....until the so called leaders start talking pay cuts and giving up perks, don't even think about talking to me. Let me ask if this is possible? Upper Management ( top execs ) 60% pay cut. White collar 30% pay cut. C.A.W/U.A.W 30% pay cut. This way everyone feels the PAIN. Now, 6, 8, 12 months from now hopefully things have improved so the Top Execs reinstate thier salaries and tac on some extra for doing such a good job in trying times. The White Collar get 25% back and a bonus for struggling through such a difficult time. And WE wait for our current contract to expire so we can fight to get a 2%/yr over the life of the contract. Just a thought.
