They are short handed, looking for liscensed stationary engineers and other skilled trades from the line to prevent haveing to hire off the street. mrballsonya
Hey Ford/UAW,Here's a novel idea.... how about retraining the hundreds of tradesmen that are currently laid off or in JSP. Seems to make a lot more sense than hiring off the street.
VDTRANSMAN
they are not looking to hire off the street. they are canvassing all tradesman/apprentices with time in the trade and production people with outside experience to move people out of jsp. they have planned for upskilling other trades to those classifications, but the catch is you get a new date of entry, because you get a new trade. story is Utica trim pipefitters said no because of that. there's 40 hour checks available, you just lose shift preference possible. One of the spots is Ford Van Dyke with 3 openings. Upskilling other trades is a great idea as long as it is done by seniority across the board, not just offered to people in JSP/Laid off. Pioneer
Upskilling other trades is a great idea as long as it is done by seniority across the board, not just offered to people in JSP/Laid off. And they better get a new date of entry too.
