kcap719 Posted February 19, 2009 Share Posted February 19, 2009 I saw the mayor of lansing on cnn one morning and he is really passionate in what he believes in.I think the anchors thought he was crazy but what do they know.it seems like their anti union just like the majority of people seem to be now.It pisses me off to think of all the good jobs that have been lost in the last ten years because of what i believe are the failed trade policies put in place by the bush administration.It's no wonder the economy has gone to shit with all of the jobs lost in the manufacturing sector that used to be the driving force of the economy. It's a shame that if you make a living wage in this country you are attacked. I guess if you aren't making a Walmart salary you are overpaid. I just don't understand why people wouldn't rally behind us and fight for themselves to get a wage they can actually live off of instead of just accepting their pitiful existence and attempt to bring everyone else down to their poverty stricken level. Yet it's just fine that all the multimillionaires do whatever they want to further erode the middle class. Sending jobs overseas to make more profits, or cooking the books and destroying millions of dollars in wealth. Our Country was created by the people and for the people, not by by the government and for the corporation. Producing debt is not sustainable, producing tangible goods is. Our Country needs to produce something other than debt, in order to remain a superpower. Letting thousands of outsourcing corporations, pay their top executives millions of dollars; doesn't make up for paying Million's of American workers, a living wage. This trickle down economic formula just doesn't work. Fox News represents every thing that has gone wrong with our Country. The slanted filth they preach, is an affront to the toil of every hard working American. Fox News absolutely Brainwashed America into electing G.W...... TWICE. Unfortunately for Fox.. the dwindling middle class has learned from their mistakes; and their force feeding Bullshit engine, has almost come to a stop. Every day as more Blue and White collar workers loose their jobs, Fox News becomes more irrelevant. Very soon, even the most ardent White Collar Fox News supporter; will realize that he's been "Okey-Doked", and he'll stop drinking the vile Kool-Aid that they serve. Unless Fox News, starts reporting on how to make a home out of old appliance boxes, or how to keep warm using your local newspapers sports section. I'd say they aren't in tune with Real America. I have a fairly simple analogy to describe Fox News. If Fox News was a person..... a person that never learned how to swim. He would dive head first into Lake Michigan based on Faith. Unfortunately, after he drowned.... Fox News's owners would try to sue the waters of lake Michigan for killing him. Very Shortly after that, Fox News would air a story on how dangerous water can be; and how you can prevent another "terrorist attack" from the "evil" water. It's not News, it's entertainment... and it's what they want you to believe. Pick up a newspaper, glean your information from someone that's been schooled in the AP style of Anti-biased writing. What really irks me is that although the corporations want to lower wages of workers to third world levels to compete they will not lower their wages to third world levels for corporate executives and financial executives. The pay levels for them in third world markets is substantially lower but they do not talk about that. They only point out the wages of workers. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. I sent him a thank you note last night, along with a little background info on my job situation, and he sent me a reply (it wasn't an automatically generated reply- he referred to things that I had mentioned) by 10 am this morning. Sounds like a smart guy. He came from a UAW raised family and it shows. Please, everyone take the time to send him a note of thanks. He needs to get more email from us than he gets from the Bozos that are bashing us (and him) on youtube. Also, call your senators and representatives!! Call them now!! YOUR job and YOUR wages and YOUR benefits are on the line. We must help ourselves. These crooks in Washington want us to give up our health care because we are not profitable, yet they are putting this country further in debt everyday and they keep their lifetime benefits. They balk at loaning the Big3 money (loans) without a business plan and yet they give (not a loan)wall street 20 times the amount we need with no strings attached. They want us to take a pay cut, because we make to much for a company that is struggling, but they vote themselves big raises every year while the country goes into a big depression. It's time to get mad folks. Stand up and fight (or sit at your computer and type letters--- to congressman, to newspapers etc...) but do something!
