MrHtwls
Anyone else excited to see the Ford Start? I am not an econobox fan, but I have to say the styling is the most exciting and original I've seen come out of Ford in a while. I can even see how this could be a premium compact with a Mercury or Lincoln badge on it. Any other thoughts? My link

zachatola
That has some nice lines, but the back looks a little bit too much like a bug to me. I think its the bumper to hatch cut that makes me think VW bug. Like the rest of it though...
calypsocoral
Anyone else excited to see the Ford Start? I can even see how this could be a premium compact with a Mercury or Lincoln badge on it. Any other thoughts? Hats off to Ford for this one. The design language is clean, yet sophisticated. The overall profile does have a bit of VW Beetle to it-- but let's not forget that said VW was the most wildly-popular small car ever, and highly practical, so Ford probably shouldn't let that comparison bother them. I'm going to miss traditional headlamps-- the strip of LED's, while practical, does give the car a bit of a "squinty-eyed" look. The interior looked very nicely-done, and the touchscreen interface looked very iPhone-inspired-- probably a good idea.
2010TB
That looks like a cartoon car to me. :boring:
syrtran
It's just a highly stylized Ka, although it reminds me more of the old one than the current one. It may be a hint at a new StreetKa or Puma or, more likely, it's not a styling exercise as much as it is an engineering exercise. This Autoblog article says it "was developed to look at ways of building a smaller, more affordable car using fewer raw materials."
