So we have little kids getting elected under their Dad's names. A guy who gets in first ballot truste immediatelty turning around and putting out an anonymous lettter flaming the plant chair. And now ballot box stuffing by junior union reps to relect Giveaway Gary. Seriously. Let's just get rid of the fkin union. You're a joke.

They are allowing the company to outsource our premium jobs, and then representing the workers who are replacing us. We are a joke for keeping them. We need a union that has a vested interest in doing what is best for us. They are now selling us out in return for a lifeboat for themselves.

Exactly. 95% of the time 'imo' you are off the wall/over the top, but you nailed it here.

People only see it when it is not them getting "nailed". I see all. I like to talk about things that are "interesting", and outside of the beliefs of the mainstream. Going along with common beliefs is boring. If something is followed for too long, it has to eventually stray from reality. You have to return to basics. If you cut a piece of wood, and then measure it and cut another piece based on that measurement, and then cut another based on that measurement, after repeating this process many times, if you compare the length of the last piece of wood to the length of the first piece, it will be way off. We have been following a union that has strayed from it's original mandate, as an instrument to protect the rights of the membership, and improve our standard of living. It has become an entity unto itself who's main goal is self-preservation, even if the membership have to be sacrificed in the process.

It's not just trustee, it's UPC and Education also (their elected off their daddy's names) , they seem to want the brother that put out a celebrity endorsement praising Giveaway Gary (perfect nickname) although this was the same brother who at the ratification and the July "information/I don't know" meeting was yelling "vote no and the plant will close, vote no and the plant will go down to one shift, 8 plants are closing in the US". Sadly national played a role too. Well the writing is on the wall, we will all be out of jobs soon thanks to Gary and his posse.

You have "proof" right?

Gary didn't give away shit, THE VAST MAJORITY OF US VOTED FOR THE CONTRACTS so YOU are just as "guilty" as anyone else.

Things not go your way???

What we are most guilty of is having too much faith in the union. They brainwash us to believe that they are trying their best, and if they recommend a contract to us, it is the best contract that we could possibly get. Then we vote yes in an overwhelming majority. This may have been true in the past, but it is not any more. Now it is every man for himself. The union is not prepared to place itself in the same desperate situation in which we, the membership find ourselves. Their own survival is number one. If we go down the tubes, they will jump to Premier and Automodular. We need a union that will defend the Alamo to the finish.

Good to see people finally waking up . The CAW is a corporation that supplies labour . It used to be a monopoly now it is not . Therefore it is naturally going to be corrupt as its market power evaporates. The CAW is the only place intellectual midgets can achieve the kind of power they currently have. It used to be focused on shaking down Ford, now they are using any and all slimy tactics for their own benefit. Notice how in the "renegotiation" the base rate wasn't touched , that would lower CAW revenues !! They cried they were powerless and stuck a knife in St Thomas' back. Now we have the spectre of "anything goes" to ensure the union executive etc get covered when we all get shit on.

The truly sad part of all this is it's next to impossible to to hold this corrupt organization to account. You are seeing it right now in your face , watch who comes out smelling like roses no matter what happens!!!!

It didnt come up all roses for the union, we did cut representation. I do see some wannabes working which to be honest is refreshing.

Granted some seem untouchable but look at management, some there seem untouchable and their skills are questionable at best.

I know of some that had to be literally dragged out kicking and screaming by security.

My point is that whether or not we are in a position to stop outsourcing, we need a union that is dedicated to fighting against it, even if it is a losing battle. That is the position we are in. They are supposed to be part of us. They shouldn't be selling us out and siding with our replacements. What will they be promising Premier and Automodular whom they now represent? More of our jobs? This is total bullshit.

Really? Gary gave away nothing eh....ok keep your head in the sand. I won't spell it out for you as you SHOULD be smarter then that.

The majority where threatened, coerced and intimidated into approval. Some of us were not. We are guilty of exactly what charly?

Things haven't gone YOUR way yet either charly. Come out Sunday and prove to the membership all allegations of violations are BS. Take the mike.

Stop hiding behind the internet and annonymous leaflets supporting complete submission to the company on anything and everything. Pussy.

I'm not hiding behind anything, who threatened , coerced and intimidated the membership into a plus 90% approval for the "new" deal? Make no mistake, I don't like the result either..but what choice did we have? Stand up like proud little soldiers and be turned into cannon fodder? That sounds very noble, unfortunately "reality" is reality and times were not that great (and are still not "great", I prefer to be able to regroup and have another kick at the can.

The union is re-grouping; but we are not in their group.

Well, either you missed that edition of the 707 reporter or you wiped your ass with it (I don't blame you.). Every single rep from the president right on all the way down to even substance abuse and women's advocate did the hard sell on accepting concessions no matter what they were. Joe Hinrich was booed off the stage at the larger plants in the states by the general membership and the UAW voted no to yet more concessions. The 707 reps who were granted the honourable privlige of listening to the company's paid spin doctor and whipsaw artist in Windsor got on their Knees and groveled for their union jobs and did anything they could to coerce the membership into voting for concessions as witnessed by every article in the reporter. End of story.

Step by step, we are being squeezed out and replaced by lower paid workers. The shipping department is a disgrace. I asked some of them what union they belonged to. Most didn't know. Then I learned that most of them are hired out of a temp agency by the day so they will never get into the union. The CAW will not let us have our picnic at Canada's Wonderland because the workers there are not unionized, yet they allow our premium jobs to be outsourced to non-union workers right on plant property. Maybe you don't realize it, but over the years, half of our workforce has been outsourced already. The writing is on the wall. If the company and union have their way, we will all be gone soon. We have destroyed our pensions by cutting the wages of new hires. It will be a cold day in Hell before they vote to give pensioners any increases. With high inflation just around the corner, pensions will soon lose their buying power. I can't wait for 2012 to have another "kick at the can". It will probably be more like another kick in the nuts. The union is sitting pretty, though. They get to represent the workers who are taking our jobs. It is one sweet deal for them. Let them have Premier and Automodular. We need to get a different union.

Or maybe no union at all. At least that way we would get our stat holidays off, like every other non union workforce in Canada as guarnteed by law. Instead we are told to work 8..no wait.. 10 hours on Canada day! The union (Giveaway Gary and his cronies) trade a regular 8 hr. day for 10 on a stat. holiday (for srtait time). An apathetic membership shakes it's collective head and mumblles about how much the union sucks. Giveaway Gary and the boys either pocket the payoff or are too stupid to realise they've been had. Sad.

It is too late to turn this ship around. The union is a detriment to us, no matter how you cut it. Their number one battle is for their own survival, and odds are that we will have to be dealt in the process. We need to fight one last battle, win or lose. A Ford plant is no good for us if we are not going to be working in it. The company and union say that the plant will close unless we give up our jobs and wages. Let's call it. What do we have to lose?

It's the internet, everyone that chooses can be faceless and have opinions about everything. You just need to try to sort the "wheat from the chaff".

Enjoy your retirement and certainly don't take the board too seriously ;-)
