Versa-Tech
12 minutes of racing without a single pass? Granted, I had hoped that the Falcon would eventually suffice, but it's surely a helluva lot better than 1 minute of racing with 12 meaningless passes. How are they meaningless? Just because YOU don't like NASCAR (I'm not a big fan either really) doesn't mean it is not racing. Some of it is incredibly exciting...but those bits I can catch in the 5 minute race recap on SportsCenter.

NASCAR is the only motorsport I have ever experienced where you hear (and I quote) "you can't just get out front like that and expect to win...". And granted, NASCAR can be exciting at times, but so can The View. It's like an old mentor of mine used to say, "even a blind squirrel can find some nuts". Versa-Tech
Wow. For someone who hates NASCAR you sure seem to pay attention to it a lot. It's embarrassing. It's hard to be taken seriously in motorsports when your country's preferred flavor is so mundane. It's kind of like professional wrestling... err WWE. jpd80
Maybe we should expand V8 Supercars to include American cars and some more rounds in North america? Perhaps cars lie like Mustang, Camaro, CTS, 300 C Charger into the V8 Supercar formula would interest US fans...
goinbroke2
Make the supercars 2 doors and it might be interesting. Watching moms car winding down a twisty road is boring. Nascrap is only a step up...or down..not sure which. Nascar is like little league t-ball, everybody gets the same car, same tires, same...yawn. This was first trialed when the iroc series started. A bunch of drivers from various motorsports competing with identical cars. This turns the attention away from the cars and onto the prima donna drivers like f-1 does. (did? is that still around?) Of course the marketability of a personality is much higher than that of a car. You can say 4 companies have bragging rights for what they did. Or, you can say 40+ guys/teams have bragging rights. 10 times the marketability if you go with drivers instead of makes. Personally, the driver means nothing. The car is what is important and can be attained by you and me. The driver cannot be copied for personal use. But I guess people like watching sports and gushing over a twit that can throw a ball. I HATE stick and ball sports. I went to a road course track when I moved here, it's about 10km's from my house. After about 15minutes of hearing 4 cyl sewing machine whine by then turn left and right I was bored. I walked through the pits....and was bored. There was one stockcar there that was set up for road courses and he was having fun, but other than listening to the v-8 sprint from corner to corner, it too got boring real quick. Maybe 20 minutes later I left. Never been back and have no interest in going back. Stock car track about 7 km's in the other direction, took the boys a couple times but...eh, rather drive than watch. The dragstrip? I travel about 4hr's to get to one track, 2 1/2 to another to do tech inspector for Stock/SuperStock. THAT, I love. Teching or racing it's fun. Haven't watched the "pro's" on tv in probably 5 years. I like sportsmen not prima donna's.

I think they should open it up to any car that can meet the formula... and any driver that can qualify.
MGallun
You know what, iam a true racing fan, you know why? i watch them all.. some people just pick at stuff and critize it because, well they are bored or something.. i watch my nascar for the bumping and rough and tumble fights.. i watch F1 for the pure nuts crazy speed, with Drag Racing, its the smell the the finality of it as, you get 1 shot if you lose your done for the week. austraila V8s, wrc, rolex these guys are nuts, thats just pure skill too me, its all fun. i like it all, each sport has its issues. nascar - races are too long on some tracks, same teams win over and over. F1 - sometimes the Qualifying series are more exciting and have a bigger part in deciding who wins that whats on track. i could go on and on, but each series has its coolness, and its crapness.. enjoy it all, thats what i do. jpd80
Does NASCAR run E85? I know that V8 Supercars switched to E85 last year and it seems to have made an interesting change to fuel stop strategies..
Ford Jellymoulds
Gotta say l like watching Bathurst but like North Amercan NACAR its a bit of isolated to downunder in Australia. World Rally Car (WRC) and the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) take in a lot more countries around the world. NASCAR is a greatest sport to watch live you can watch most of the action on oval circuits but its not very interesting rather dull on TV. WRC used to be one of my favourite forms of motorsport when just about every car maker entered a car in it, rallying is the toughest form of motorsport it is raced on variety of surfaces both day and through the night in any weather. Sad to say todays rallying is rather a dull two horse race between just two car makers Ford & Citroen & dominated by one person Sebastien Loeb. In the past the rally cars were very close to production cars today they are absoutely nothing like the everyday car. Ford's WRC Focus is 60% driven from the REAR & FOE don't sell a RWD car in Europe. Buy rallying is still the toughest most exciting form of motorsport to watch, But gone are the days when over million used to line the UK roads & forests go along to watch the 3 day British RAC rally live, being just a 2 horse race has made it very uninteresting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QaMdhVfZPmY Gotta say l watch F1, World Touring Car where Chevy are doing well this year, or British Touring Car which has the Focus ST in it on TV. But follow historic rallying or touring car live at the track its more exciting to watch and Ford dominate it 100% in the UK. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9PqMLY39lg&feature=related Edited October 31, 2010 by Ford Jellymoulds
