Waiting, waiting, waiting...

for the F150 eco Lariat to be built/delivered! This forum has been a great help in my decision making regarding what to order!

My current truck is an 01' supercrew Lariat with just over 230,000 miles and while still looking good and running strong I felt it was time for a new truck.

Congratulations on the new truck. I too am waiting. This will be my first Ford since 1987. That one wasn't so good, but I'm certain this one will be excellent. Looking forward to some good advice here on the forum.

Thanks for the welcome. I just called Ford Customer Service and they couldn't have been nicer. I found out my truck has already been built and is awaiting transport. She also gave me the VIN number so now I guess I can forward that to the insurance company. However, now I have more questions than ever! I was content just to wait until the dealer called, but now I want to know when it will ship, how long it takes, whether it will come by rail or truck, and most importantly when I will finally get it!

Also, my current truck is really running well and with no problems whatsoever. It just has over 230 000 miles and I'm looking for something with a little better mileage. Also, with my mom on side of town and the mother-in-law on the other I really need a 4x4 in case something happens and I have to get there!

I just found out my truck has left the blackhole of ramp 59 in Dearborn. It has been assigned and is currently on a transport (Jack Cooper Transport, Inc.) for the full ride to Oklahoma! Hotdog, no rail dust for meeeeee. ETA is 4/9 but since there is no rail involved I was told it would/should arrive sooner. :bandance:

Let's hope the transport driver has better skills than George Jones on a lawn tractor... :tequila:

In Transit - Received - 00ld19 (Allied Systems Ltd ) Ramp 1W, Wyoming Ave, MI Mar-31-2011, 10:25 ET.

ETA the week of Apr-12-2011.

Information I received on 4/1. The article in the link provided above didn't specifically say which companies Jack Cooper had new contracts with. I have read that GM had vehicles being held hostage by Allied. Hopefully my truck makes to the dealer before anymore crisis happens.

Ford continues to use Allied while negotiation are continuing. GM and Chrysler have filed a law suit against Allied.

well that's just craptastic!

Rumor control blames shipping delays of F150s on union strikes claiming that in January 2011 there were three major transport companies that handled all of the “Big-3” auto makers’ deliveries via rail. In early February 2011 two of those companies went out of business. For there part Ford immediately signed on with the remaining company but GM and Chrysler balked at the prices and began to negotiate with the remaining transport company. Negotiations precipitated a strike and there are now picket lines at the rail head in Dearborn. Apparently workers refuse to cross the picket lines of another union. As a result, there are only one to five rail cars per day of new vehicles being shipped out of Dearborn, when normally there are 100-150 rail cars of new vehicles being shipped out.

Seems I'm still one of the unlucky few. Called this afternoon still sitting on ramp 59 for week six!! Ford Customer Service told me today to call back when it has been 12 weeks since I ordered and then they could make an "inquiry".

Thank you for the link, I have been looking for info regarding the allegations of a rail strike as it affects the automakers but came up with nothing. This is why, it isn't rail...it is the over the road transport company playing games with first their employees, then their customers.

Since Ford is still in negotiations with Allied, they continue to service Ford as usual. In my case my first call to Ford CS, they told me that ETA was going to be April 4. Then, on my second call, which was on the 4th, ETA was revised to April 12. On the morning of April 5th, my dealer called and said truck was delivered and I went and picked it up late that afternoon. So, bottom line, Allied did their job for Ford. My truck was ordered on March 4th and delivered on April 5th.

Well it sounds like I am in the same boat as others!

Ordered a F150 FX4 S-Crew, Red Candy on March 4th, confirmed for build on March 9th, built March 28 (according to dealer) and ETA was week of April 18. I sent an email to my dealer yesterday and he told me that there is a delay and ETA is now May 9th...which kind of sucks.
