gullwingdmc
So I noticed tonight after I locked my car (2012 Titanium) that a light started flashing in the instrument cluster. I don't think this has happened before, but maybe I just didn't notice it. When I looked closely the indicator was briefly flashing red. I got back in the car and checked the message center which said everything was fine. I noticed it only comes on after I lock the doors, and turns off as soon as I unlock them. Is this the light saying the alarm system is armed? There is nothing in the manual that I could find about it flashing red when the car was off. Is this something that all of them do and I just didn't notice it till now?
emerrill
Thats pretty standard on cars. It indicates that the engine code lock is enabled. It's meant to deter theft.
silenthill
I don't think that indicator works on non-Titanium trims. At least it doesn't on my SEL....it didn't light up to go along with the parking brake notification as I drove off this morning. Oops on my part

byrdman7
Cool, thank you I noticed the blinking yesterday on my Titanium Hatch only after I adjusted my steering wheel, it may have blocked my view before. byrdman7
I noticed the blinking yesterday on my Titanium Hatch only after I adjusted my steering wheel, it may have blocked my view before. UPDATE: I had my wifes Fusion serviced this morning and spoke with the Service Department about the blinking after locking. I was informed the flashing indicates the perimeter alarm is active.
