2013 Fusion Shows Its Face

Recommended Posts

Every time one of these threads that has a new view of the Fusion appears, I get hopeful. Then I click on the link and I see yet another picture of a pile of trash bags on wheels. I want to see this car without the trash bags. This is a little like being a kid and seeing a wrapped Christmas present wondering what's inside.

I'm sure that's just someone's guess, but I think that is really very good looking.

And like you I'd say that it's close but the lines are probably different (better). Kinetic style l doesn't translate well into pictures,

it always looks flat and it's only when you see th cars in person that the details really pop and you se how great they really are.

From what I remember of the mule that I seen last week that didnt have any covering, That is pretty damn close. It was a current mondeo with what appears to be the new front end on it. I vividly recall the lower portion by the fog light. I cant recall the headlight much but do believe the headlight was larger and reached into the hood a bit..

The foglight area is bigger then in the PS. It will be the full size of the foglight "area" in the bumper cover. Not 2/3rds of it.

Everytime I see a mule Im driving and he is turning..... :banghead::camera:

The best part about this next Fusion and Mondeo is the money Ford has saved before a car is built,

the scales of volume and parts supplies contracts involved in unifying the mid sized sedan

allows Ford to make good profits and hopefully, bring the car to US plants,

Great Job Ford.

I don't like those tail-lights, I thought they were going to be tucked in like they are on the Evos concept, but these are very conventional designs, I was hoping for something much more clever than the familial Fiesta/Focus sedan bum.

The notch in the rear-windshield for the CHSML is neat however.

Can't tell too much from the camo'd pics. But from the rendering, I'm not feeling it. Really dislike the size of the hood and how it bulges. Dislike the HUGE rear end, even though it seems most cars are headed this way. Think the headlight assembly is too small for the car. Really not liking the side mirrors. And those tires/wheels look way too small in comparison to the car. I know it's a rendering though, so I'll wait to pass judgement until we see the actual production version.

That rendering is pretty close, it's basically a mondeo with a different nose...

Jay Mays said recently that head lamps have been in his opinion,

over sized on cars and are about to become much smaller...

Ouch! If all you're saying is true, don't know if I'll like the new Fusion, at least the style anyways. Sad, because I do love the original and current generation of Fusions.

I think he was referring to the rendering (which does look like a Mondeo with a different nose), not the new Fusion, which from all I can tell looks quite a bit different from the current Mondeo.
