Zero Escape or Ford switch gear, airvents, head lamp dial, same door card lines, etc.

I am pretty sure the next MKC not this one to be released will be the Lincoln version.

I dread the hay day the press is going to have bashing the hell out of this launch, its going to be ugly (is my prediction).

I think he means this one will be pretty Kuga looking, and the next version of the MkC will be more differentiated.

If it looks like a Kuga with a Lincoln grill the press will be brutal.

That doesn't make any sense. Wolf has complete control of the design of the MKC from day one. If this thing looks anything like a rebadged Escape/Kuga then he and Lincoln will be raked over the coals and deservedly so.

that^ was my first reaction

but

imho with the right stuff under the skin it can be ok

Computer Controlled Drive

& I'd like to see

- Hybrid, maybe with a new 2.3 Atkinson

- new version of the 1.6EB, whatever its exact size

- 2.3EB (over 300hp)

then later they can add a Nano-EB!!

tho

even tho we haven't seen it yet

I'm wondering if this time** they might use the almost-a-full-year until Job1 to incorporate tweaks due to the public's reactions

** unlike with the MKZ

otoh

imho it'd be (more) interesting if the MKC was wider & lower than the Escape and had a bit longer wheelbase

It's a good start. Not too thrilled with a few items:

  • Don't care much for the seats/headrests.
  • Full-length glass roof is tolerable.
  • Rear hatch doesn't look as fluid as I would like.
  • Don't know about the push-button transmission selector.

I would like to see a V6. Call me old-fashioned.

Hopefully, the production model will be more thought out.
